Abstract
The invention relates to a passive rain gauge with a very low level of electrical consumption. A very thin fabric is inserted into a rectangular support provided with vent holes all over the surface thereof. Said holes expose the fabric inside the support. Two electrodes are attached to the two ends of the support and are in contact with the fabric.
Description
Détecteur pluviométrique à faible consommation électrique Rain sensor with low power consumption
Description Description
L'invention est un capteur de pluie. The invention is a rain sensor.
There are various rain gauge devices that provide information about the amount of rainfall, its direction, duration, and so on. These rain gauges use mechanisms that are not suitable when energy saving is paramount and the only information sought is whether it rains or not.
Following the development of renewable energies (solar, wind, etc.), several devices are designed and developed to be autonomous and draw all the energy they need from renewable sources only. The main difficulty in the development of these autonomous systems is the small amount of energy they have, hence a concern for continuous optimization of the energy consumption of their components.
Il est constitué d'un support rectangulaire (4) en PPMA Our invention consists of a rain gauge that consumes as little energy as possible to know if it is raining or not. It consists of a rectangular support (4) made of PPMA
(Polymethacrylate Methyl) also called plexiglass which represents the advantage of stability, resistance to ultraviolet and poses no risk of increased opacity. This type of material is a reference on the market today for outdoor use. The rectangular support is folded in two and has ventilation holes (3) uniformly arranged throughout its surface. A very thin, permeable and absorbent fabric (2) is inserted between the two superimposed plates (plaice surfaces) covering their entire surface. The ventilation holes expose the tissue contained between the two plates. Two electrodes (1) are arranged at the ends of the support and are in contact with the tissue so that when the fabric is wet with rainwater, the resistance between the electrodes decreases to pass the current indicating that the rain is falling. An electrode is fed continuously and thanks to an integrated circuit, we convert the signal delivered by the sensor (analog, resistor value) into a digital signal (0,1).
