Definitions
- the present invention defines a buccal mirror that incorporates a system of expulsion of air or gas directly on said mirror, so that a certain flow of air that is expelled by this system affects its surface, eliminating all possible other impurities, such as water, mist and / or saliva that are impregnated on it when this mirror is in use, that is, in oral-dental maintenance tasks, in such a way that visibility conditions are improved and interruptions derived from the cleaning of said mirror.
- Mouth mirrors are dental instruments that allow the vision of certain places in the mouth where direct visibility is difficult or impossible. These mirrors are also used to reflect light on certain places of the mouth and retract tissues such as the tongue. There are also them in different ways, they are generally circular mirror, and are made of different materials, mainly plastic or stainless steel. It is therefore possible to say that mouth mirrors are widely distributed instruments known in this technical field.
- commercial mouth mirrors face three main problems, the fog generated by the patient with mouth breathing, the water that is impregnated on the surface of the mirror due to the continuous expulsion of this liquid to prevent dehydration of the dental organs, and the saliva itself generated by the patient.
- the present invention improves the previous ones since it achieves a device with which it is possible to eliminate the liquids, drops of water, saliva or foreign substances that are deposited in the dentist mirror already in turn, it manages to eliminate the mist produced by the patient's breathing, all through the expulsion of a certain flow of air or gas under pressure directly on said mirror.
- a dental mirror is usually divided into two distinct parts; on the one hand the active part, which is the one used for the performance of the function and in this case the convex mirror and its support, and on the other hand the inactive part or handle that can have various elements to improve grip, pressure or others, and which in turn can have different shapes and be made of different materials.
- the invention described here solves these problems by expelling small flows of pressurized air or gas, or projection of iré, through holes located on the inside edge of the mirror frame directly on the mirror surface so that all those elements or impurities deposited on the mirror surface are repelled or expelled at the same time that the mist is eliminated.
- the flow of air or gas that comes out under pressure is due to the fact that the handle that forms the mirror contains a rechargeable bottle or vial manually operated by the dentist.
- This invention in turn is designed and designed so that it can be disinfected and sterilized by the usual means, since it does not have any electrical or electronic element.
- the handle therefore has a cavity intended for the introduction and exit of gas cylinders or ampoules of pressurized gas.
- These cylinders connect with a conduit or that joins the cylinder with the holes or holes distributed in the edge or perimeter of the mirror frame, which are directed towards the surface of the mirror.
- the handle cylinder and the mirror support duct are connected by means of a valve that is operated manually and whose button is on the handle. Therefore, it can be said that the mirror support houses a cannular duct with a plurality of holes or openings that expel the air or gas under pressure on the convex surface of the mirror, generally with a spray effect.
- the cylinder or air bulb is rechargeable, for which there is a cover or disassembly element that allows its replacement, either because the cylinder is finished or because it is necessary to disinfect the entire dental instrument assembly.
- this type of dental mirror are similar to those of conventional mirrors, except that the handle has a volume because it houses or contains said bottle. As for the dimensions of the glass or mirror, they continue to respect the conventional dimensions and the usual features. It is also noteworthy that this dental instrument allows the mirror glass or glass to be changed or removed in case of defect, since the glass itself is independent of the rest of the support elements. Finally, the diameters of the holes and the diameter of the support duct can be variable, although to improve the Hydraulic and pressure conditions, these will preferably have a nozzle shape, with a smaller outlet section to increase the pressure at the outlet.

- Fig. 3. Representation of a longitudinal section, according to the representation of Fig. 1, where the set of elements that make up the instrument or dental mirror are detailed.
- Fig. 4. Detail of the mirror with the holes in the edge of the support that project the air or gas under pressure on the surface of the mirror.
- Fig.5. Representation of a cross section, according to the representation of Fig.4., Where the support and the mirror are detailed.
- the dental instrument or dental mirror assembly consists of a handle (1) that has a push button (11), and a support (2) in whose frame ( 21) the mirror (3) is located.
- the plurality of holes (22) on the edge of the frame (21) that expel the air directly on the surface of the mirror (3) can be seen in Fig.
- the handle (1) has a cavity (not referenced) intended for the introduction and exit of cylinders (12) or gas ampoules under pressure.
- cylinders connect with a conduit (23) or that joins the cylinder (12) with the holes (22) distributed in the edge or perimeter of the frame (22), which are directed towards the surface of the mirror (3).
- the cylinder (12) of the handle, and the duct (23) of the mirror holder are connected by means of a valve (20) that It is operated manually and whose button (11) is on the handle (1).
- the cylinder (12) or air bulb is rechargeable, for which there is a cover (13) or disassembly element that allows it to be replaceable.
- Fig. 4 a detail of the support (2) with the mirror (3) is observed, in which the plurality of holes (22) of the edge of the frame (21) of the support that pressurize the air (not referenced) directly on the mirror surface (3) to remove water droplets, mist or any other impurity.
- Fig. 5 finally represents a cross section in which the duct (23) that joins through a duct (23) or inner cannula through the support can be seen through the bottle with the holes (22) on the edge of the frame ( 21) from the support and the air directly expel the air on the mirror surface (3).
- the holes will be in a plane, formed by the outer edge of the frame (21), perpendicular to the plane formed by the mirror (3), taking into account that the mirror will have a convex shape. In this way, the elimination of the mist, drops of water and others, will be more effective.
