Abstract
The invention relates to a coating method for buffering, insulating, metering, and deliberate dissipation of heat such that temperature-sensitive substrates, such as wood, natural (fiber) products, or concrete, are not destroyed by heat (e.g., thermal energy) supplied as a result of the method. The problem addressed by the invention is that of realizing a permanent protection of wood by means of the properties of a thin glass layer such that the wood is resistant to chemical substances and environmental influences. The thin glass layers should not be brittle (cf. the flexibility of glass fibers) and should be producible in an economical, environmentally friendly, and health-friendly manner. A further problem addressed by the invention is that of preventing the thermal destruction of substrates, for example also on thermally sensitive materials other than wood, during the spraying on of a melt. This problem is solved by a method for thermally coating a substrate to be thermally protected by heat dissipation by means of a nonthermal plasma and/or by means of heat buffering in thermodynamic phase transitions of a dispersion and/or of a gel and/or of a glass layer or glass-like layer.
