Abstract

The invention relates to the field of mechanical engineering and can be used as a continuously variable mechanical transmission. The present multi-range three-flow continuously variable transmission comprises a housing (8), an input shaft (1), an output shaft (10), a differential unit (4) and a multi-range equalizing gearbox (9). The differential unit (4) consists of one five-member differential (12) and a continuously variable member (5). Shaft (1) is linked to one input member of the differential (12). The multi-range equalizing gearbox (9) is coupled to any other two output members (2, 3) of the differential (12) and to the output shaft (10). The continuously variable member (5) is coupled to the housing (8) and to two members of the differential (12) which are not linked to the input shaft (1) and the multi-range equalizing gearbox (9); the multi-range equalizing gearbox (9) is likewise coupled to the housing (8) and contains control elements that connect the output members (2, 3) of the differential (12) to the output shaft (10) with different transmission ratios, and the transmission ratio from one output member (2) of the differential (12) to the other output member (3) of the differential (12) is negative when the input shaft (1) is idle. The result is a simplified design.
