Description

"System and method of lottery and electronic type for purchasing a plurality of goods"
Description Field of the art
The present invention pertains to the field of purchasing systems and in detail regards an electronic system for purchasing goods and a method for purchasing the same goods.
Prior art
Lottery systems can generate high earnings for the managers, but their user appeal substantially depends on two factors: on the purchase price of the ticket, and on the prize or prizes offered. Conventionally, lottery systems promise the possibility to win prizes that have quite high value, associated with a single ticket sold from among a plurality of tickets sold.
It has been observed that in 2012, 30 billion dollars were generated from lottery systems, and that said number could increase by a number of millions in 2015, also considering the current critical state of the economy that pushes various parts of the population to purchase lottery tickets in order to obtain economic winnings that are limited or reduced due to the economic crisis. Nevertheless, the low probability of winning has reduced the percentage of players on conventional lottery systems, diverting them towards the systems of "scratch and win" type, in which there are instead a plurality of winning tickets.
Up to now, it is known that some goods - even if provided with a high intrinsic value - are hard to sell. It is equally known that the sale of the good often depends on the advertising that is carried out with regard to the good itself. Presently, in fact, selling real estate, for example - houses in particular - has proven quite arduous due on one hand to the high price of the property itself, and on the other hand on the maintenance cost to be paid by the property buyer. Faced with the need to sell specific goods such as real estate, the user today relies on selling networks substantially managed in a "manual" manner by a plurality of intermediaries, which tend to sell the good, obtaining a percentage of interest or commission on the amount paid by the buyer and/or on that which would be due the seller. The drawback is that the greater the number of intermediaries, and the larger the intermediation structure, the greater the shortfall of money that the buyer might incur.
If the seller wishes to sell the good quickly - provided that the good is not a primary good or primary commodity, and that the good is not sold in conditions of pure or substantial monopoly or strict oligopoly - the seller, according to conventional economic laws, can reduce the sale price, increasing the appeal of the good for sale. However, in the specific field of real estate, in various areas of the world this has seen the general devaluation of the properties; substantially, the seller in order to make the property more appealing and sellable in reasonable time periods must significantly limit his earnings, sometimes descending below that which would be the actual value of the property.
Finally, the final known aspect is that most luxury goods, or in any case high-cost goods, lie outside the electronic sale channels and the digital market.
The object of the present invention is to describe an electronic sale system which allows at least partially overcoming said drawbacks.
In addition, a further object of the present invention is to describe a method for selling goods which allows at least partially overcoming said drawbacks.
Summary of the invention
According to the present invention, an electronic system for selling goods is obtained, characterized in that it comprises means for the electronic sale of a plurality of electronic tickets associated with at least one good to be sold, and means for the attribution and electronic sale of said plurality of electronic tickets configured to allow the sale of a predetermined number of said electronic tickets; said attribution and electronic sale means comprising an interface for booking at least one electronic ticket from among said plurality of electronic tickets at at least one buyer user and being configured to store said booking of said at least one electronic ticket for said at least one buyer user, and to authorize the actual sale of said at least one electronic ticket to said buyer user only after the storage of a number of bookings equal to said predetermined number of electronic tickets, said bookings being executed by said buyer user or also by other buyer users; said system is configured to transmit money transaction request data to a banking institution upon said storage of a number of bookings equal to said predetermined number of electronic tickets, and comprises means for storing a unique code for each booked ticket and electronic ticket-good association means, susceptible to store an association between said good and only one of said electronic tickets, said ticket-good association means being configured to calculate said electronic ticket-good association based on a random draw of a unique code from among a plurality of unique codes corresponding to the unique codes previously associated one by one to each of said electronic tickets sold.
In detail, the means for the electronic sale comprise a data processing unit susceptible of being connected to an Internet network.
Advantageously, said attribution and electronic sale means comprise a software interface configured to receive data of said users and to produce a decrease of the number of tickets which can be sold with respect to said predetermined number of electronic tickets following a booking confirmation of a desired number of electronic tickets by each buyer user, said decrease being effected before allowing further electronic tickets to be booked by different buyer users.
Advantageously, said means for the electronic sale are configured in order to store the booking of said at least one electronic ticket by said at least one user only following the transmission of data regarding an electronic payment by said user on said electronic sale means.
Advantageously, said data regarding an electronic payment comprise electronic payment means data; said system executing a transmission of a request of validation of said data of said electronic payment means towards a banking institution and being configured to wait for a reception of data authorizing or denying the withdrawal by said electronic payment means of an amount of money corresponding to the equivalent of the cost of said at least one electronic ticket booked by said buyer user, and to transmit to said buyer user the actual booking of said at least one electronic ticket only in case of reception of authorization data by said banking institution.
Advantageously, the actual sale comprises the actual transmission of an amount of money by said electronic payment means to a recipient bank account; said electronic payment means can be selected from among the electronic payment means selected from the present list: credit card, bank card, debit card, prepaid card, details of withdrawal from a bank account. Advantageously, the system according to the present invention comprises means for the automatic evaluation of sale parameters of said good configured to calculate said predetermined number of said electronic tickets and a cost of each of said electronic tickets based on said value of said good; said automatic evaluation means being further configured to automatically check that said cost of each of said electronic tickets is not greater than a predetermined fraction of said value of said good.
Advantageously, said predetermined number of electronic tickets is automatically calculated based on the cost attributed to each of said electronic tickets and based on a value attributed to said good, and wherein said system is configured to deduct a percentage of economic interest from an electronic money amount automatically transferred to a bank account of the seller of said good following the sale of said predetermined number of electronic tickets for said good; said electronic money transfer being effected by means of a transmission of a request for payment by said system to a computer of a banking institution and following an authorization for said payment transmitted by said computer of said banking institution and received by said system.
According to the present invention, a method for lottery sale of a good is also described, comprising:
- a previous step of storing, on an electronic system (100) for selling goods (11), a predetermined number (n) of sellable electronic tickets (10); - one or more steps of transmitting a request for booking at least one of said electronic tickets, by at least one buyer user, said transmission step being executed by means of a transmission of user data towards said system through electronic interface means presented to said buyer user by said system, and wherein said booking request step comprises a commitment to purchase said at least one electronic ticket by said at least one user when booking a total number of electronic tickets equal to said predetermined number.
- a step for storing said request for booking on a memory of said system comprising, for each electronic booked ticket, a unique code associated with said ticket and data associated with said booking user;
- a step for automatically calculating a random unique code drawn from the unique codes, previously stored in said memory in association with each of said electronic tickets and a subsequent step of storage, on the memory, of the electronic ticket-good association only for the electronic ticket corresponding with said drawn unique code.
Advantageously, said booking request step can be carried out following a step for transmitting data regarding electronic payment means from a computer associated with said buyer user towards said system for selling goods, and a step for checking compatibility for purchasing said electronic tickets effected with an automatic transmission of a request for money availability executed by said system towards a computer of a banking institution associated with said electronic payment means and a subsequent reception on said system of data authorizing the withdrawal of the amount corresponding to the cost of the number of electronic tickets booked by said user.
Advantageously, the method comprises a previous storage, on said memory of said system of bank data, of a destination bank account for the purchase amounts by said buyer users, and a step of transaction of an amount corresponding to the cost of the number of electronic tickets booked by said at least one user from electronic payment means of the user to said bank account, only when the number of bookings of electronic tickets stored on said system is equal to the predetermined number of electronic tickets. Advantageously, the method comprises a step for transmitting a sale price or value of said good from a seller user to said system; and wherein said predetermined number of electronic tickets and the cost of each of said electronic tickets are automatically calculated by said system by carrying out a step for checking that the product of the cost of each of said electronic tickets by said predetermined number exceeds the sale price or value of said good previously transmitted by a seller user to said system.
Advantageously, such method comprises the transmission of win data to a buyer user associated with said electronic ticket having the unique code drawn; said transmission is preceded by a step for identifying an address of said buyer user on the memory area containing the ticket with drawn unique code-good association, and is executed on the basis of said address by transmitting said win data to said address.
Advantageously, a previous step is finally present for storing, within said system, a time for good pickup in case of win, a subsequent step for transmitting said pickup time for said good to said buyer whose electronic ticket is associated with said random unique code drawn from among the unique codes previously stored in said memory in association with each of said electronic tickets, and a subsequent step of a new draw of a random unique code drawn from among the previously stored unique codes if said buyer does not proceed with the pickup of said good within said pickup time. Description of the enclosed figures
Further particular characteristics of the preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described hereinbelow by making reference to the enclosed figures, in which:
- figure 1 illustrates a schematic embodiment of the system for selling goods, object of the present invention.
- figure 2 illustrates an exemplifying view of a video interface with sub-areas presented to the buyer user by the sale system, object of the present invention; and
- figure 3 illustrates a schematic flow diagram of the operation of the system according to the present invention. Detailed description of the invention.
With reference to the enclosed figures, and in detail with reference to figure 1, reference number 1 indicates overall an electronic system for selling goods.
The electronic system for selling goods, object of the present invention, is configured with a system server 100, electrically connected through interface means for transmitting and receiving numeric data 110 to/from the Internet network 20, to which a plurality of computers belonging to buyers 30 and a plurality of computers belonging to sellers 40 are also connected.
On the system server 100, a computer program is executed that is stored in the memory 120 of the system server; such program is configured to allow the electronic sale of a plurality of electronic tickets 10 associated with a good 11 to be sold.
The electronic tickets 10 are tickets of lottery type, in the sense that for each good 11 for sale, only one winning ticket is associated and only a predetermined number of tickets can be sold with the modes that will be better described in the following description section.
In the current case, the computer program is configured to allow the access to said buyers 30 and to said sellers 40 to a respective:
- purchase interface area 300 for said electronic tickets 10 and
- interface area for selling said good.
For the description of the method of operation of the system according to the present invention, reference will also be made to the exemplifying flow diagram of figure 3.
The system server 100 allows the buyers to access the purchase interface for the electronic tickets 10 through the Internet connection with their computer. In detail, as schematically represented in figure 2, in such purchase interface 300 for electronic tickets 10, a first sub- area 310 is present in which a plurality of goods for sale is listed; the buyer 31, through the respective user interface means (as a non-limiting example, monitor, mouse and keyboard) connected to the respective computer 30, selects one of said goods for sale, accessing a second sub-area 320 in which the system server 100 transmits to the potential buyer user a plurality of data comprising at least:
- one value attributed to said good, which in the course of the present description will be associated with the acronym Ctot;
- the number of tickets which can be sold for said good, in the course of the present description associated with the value n;
- the unit cost of each single ticket, in the course of the present description associated with the acronym vi (individual value).
and in which the selection elements 330 are present (e.g. a plurality of selection fields or buttons), in which the user can select the desired number of electronic tickets 10. The selection of said selection elements 330 is advantageously executed through said user interface means of the buyer computer 30.
Before the actual booking of the tickets by the buyer 31, the latter by means of the purchase interface 300 is transmitted a sale contract, which must be accepted ahead of time to allow continuing with the booking.
At this point, in the booking step, the server 100 then stores the data indicating the number of electronic tickets 10 booked by the buyer 31, and allows the entry of the buyer user 31 into a third sub-area 340 in which the user must type the data regarding a payment mode for the purchased electronic ticket(s) 10.
In detail, the electronic tickets can be advantageously purchased by means of electronic payment means, which in detail comprise at least credit cards, prepaid cards or bank cards. The tickets are in this step described as "booked" due to the fact that the user with the approval of the booking is committed to purchase said electronic tickets 10, but such tickets are not actually purchased - or rather no economic transaction will be executed - until the entire number n of electronic tickets 10 has not been booked by at least one user. For example, there may be 333 tickets associated with a bicycle with overall value of 1000$, each of which costs 3$. In this case, upon booking the total number of tickets - 333 in this example - the seller 41 will nearly fully receive an overall amount equal to the value of the good sold.
The buyer 31, through the user interface means 32, introduces the data associated with the electronic payment means in the third sub-area 340, and such data is then transmitted to the server 100 together with the buyer 31 recognition data (his personal information). Preferably, his personal data will include his home address or e-mail address, in a manner such that in case of win the system will be able to transmit a confirmation of victory or award of the good 11 to the buyer himself.
The introduction of the abovementioned data is schematically represented by the input block 1 of the flow diagram of figure 3.
The system server 100 is thus configured to store a buyer file 350, which contains the following:
- the buyer 31 recognition data,
- the data associated with the electronic payment means;
- unique serial numbers generated by said system server 100 and each associated with the respective ticket booked by said buyer 31.
The system server 100 is then configured to transmit a request for economic availability to a remote computer 50 of the banking institution 51 associated with the electronic payment means (figure 3, selection block 2); in detail, such request contains the data of the electronic payment means and the amount corresponding to the number n of electronic tickets that the user wishes to book. The system server 100 receives the data regarding confirmation (figure 3, selection block 2, output S) or lack of credit (figure 3, selection block 2, output N) from the computer 50 of the banking institution, and provides:
- in case of confirmation, to transmit to the buyer a message of booking confirmation of the desired electronic tickets 10 (figure 3, block 3);
- in case of lack of credit, to transmit to the buyer a message of cancelation of the request for booking the desired electronic tickets 10 (figure 3, block 7 - end). At this point, the system server 100 executes a decrease calculation of the number of tickets that can be booked by future buyers, decreased by a value equal to the number of tickets booked by the buyer 31. Until such calculation has terminated, no new buyer can reserve tickets; this advantageously allows reducing the risk of discrepancy and/or incoherence between the number of electronic tickets available and the number of electronic tickets actually bookable.
Then, the system server 100 transmits, through the Internet network and towards the computers 30 of the buyers 31, the data relative to the series numbers of the electronic booked tickets of the various buyers, to the respective buyers (figure 3, still block 3).
The steps of booking one or more electronic tickets 10 by one or more buyers 31 are repeated (figure 3, block 4, output N) until the number of bookable tickets is equal to zero (condition corresponding to the output S of the block 4).
At this point, it will no longer be possible for any user to book electronic tickets associated with that respective good 11.
The server 100 at this point automatically transmits a plurality of economic transaction requests (figure 3, block 5) to one or more computers 50 associated with one or more banking institutions 51 for managing the electronic payment means of the various buyers.
Specifically, the server 100 transmits through the Internet network 20, for each buyer 31 and to the computer 50 of the selected banking institution:
- an amount to be withdrawn from the bank account or from the prepaid card or debit card or credit card whose associated data had been previously transmitted by the buyer;
- data regarding a destination bank account for the paid amount.
In particular, the data for the direct withdrawal from the bank account, from the prepaid card or from the debit card or bank card constitute, pursuant to the present description, data associated with the electronic payment means for the purchase of said good 11.
The automated execution of the transmission of the transaction requests, in association with the automated management of the number of tickets first booked and then sold, allows advantageously executing a parallel sale of multiple goods 11 at the same moment, without the need for numerous people to control the sequence of booking passages-payment availability check-booking confirmation - count down of the number of booked tickets - actual sale. Such sequence of operations, if manually executed by lottery personnel, would not only be much more subject to the risk of fraud, but would also be hard to execute in substantially "real" time, in particular in all those cases in which there is a high number n of electronic tickets 10 associated with a specific good or, also, high overall number of electronic tickets associated in their entirety to goods that can be simultaneously sold.
At this point, the server 100 is configured to calculate the draw of a unique serial number of an electronic ticket randomly selected from among those corresponding to the tickets sold; the selected ticket will be that which allows the user to win the good 11. The ticket whose unique serial number is selected is then marked in the respective buyer file 340 on a winning selection field 350.
Then, the buyer 31 associated with the ticket whose unique serial number was selected will be the object of a transmission of a selection message. Such message, transmitted by the server 100 to the computer of the buyer 31, will contain the data of the buyer and the unique serial number that the system has automatically selected as winning. The user can then go to a selected structure to pick up the good 11 or, alternatively, such good will be automatically sent to his home, to the address previously introduced upon booking the electronic tickets. The system according to the present invention is further configured for proceeding with a new draw of a winning electronic ticket 10 if the winner does not pick up the good 11 within a predetermined time period. In detail, said predetermined time interval of picking up the good 11 is transmitted to the buyer 31 upon winning.
If the system detects that the good 11 has not been picked up at the selected structure, it will proceed with a new draw of an electronic ticket 10 as described above, substantially attributing the same good 11 to other users who had previously booked and subsequently purchased electronic tickets 10 associated with the same good.
The number of electronic tickets 10 sellable by the system according to the present invention is in detail calculated based on an algorithm described hereinbelow which allows the seller in each case to receive an amount substantially equivalent to the actual value of the good, without accounting for the effect of the market.
In detail, with said Ctot the overall cost or value of the good 11, the system that is the object of the present invention calculates the number n of tickets which can be sold starting from the concept that the cost of the electronic ticket 10 should substantially be much lower than the value of the good 11. As a non-limiting example, the system server 100 can be configured to set a unit cost of each single ticket vi that is less than or equal to one hundredth of the value of the good 11 or in any case based on a fraction /of the overall value Ctot of the good 11; alternatively, the unit cost vi of each electronic ticket can be predetermined by the user. The fraction/of the overall value of the good is transmitted to the system server 100 by the seller.
Therefore, before selling electronic tickets, the system server 100 is configured to receive, from a user, data corresponding to an overall value of the good 11, and subsequently dividing the overall value Ctot of the good 11 by the unit cost vi of each single electronic ticket, rounding such number to a whole number and setting it as the overall number n of tickets which can be sold.
In detail, the system server 100 can optionally be configured to automatically calculate the overall value Ctot of the good 11. In detail, if the good 11 does not require an appraisal and its value is not given by the actual presence in one place rather than in another, such overall value is automatically attributed by the system server 100 following a previous step for inserting type data or parameters describing the good 11 ; the attribution of the overall value of the good is carried out by receiving, on the system server 100, data coming from tables of average costs of similar goods found by remote computers, from which a single selected value is found based on the previously transmitted descriptive parameters, and subsequently by adapting the found value with automatically added additions or subtractions as a function of the parameters themselves.
If the unit cost vi is data transmitted by the user, the system server 100 will calculate the number n of tickets as described above. On the other hand, if the unit cost vi will be calculated by the system based on the fraction f, then the system server will first calculate the cost vi of each single electronic ticket and subsequently will proceed with the calculation of the number n of electronic tickets which can be sold come as described above.
Alternatively, the system server 100 can also be configured to receive a pair of data corresponding to the overall value Ctot of the good 11 and to the number n of electronic tickets. In such case, it will calculate, always before the step of selling the electronic tickets, the cost vi of each single ticket.
Optionally the system, object of the present invention, can be configured for allowing the sale of electronic tickets whose cost does not exceed a predetermined maximum value vmax. In such case, the system server 100, based on the data introduced by the user, will check that the calculated cost vi of each single electronic ticket is less than the predetermined maximum value vmax, and if Vi>vmax, it will increase - unit by unit - the number n of tickets which can be sold, proceeding with an automatic verification of the ratio between vi and vmax and stopping the automatic increase of n at the value of n corresponding with the first verification of the condition Vi≤vmax.
It should be observed that the system server 100, object of the present invention, can be configured for automatically transferring the amount of money corresponding with the sale of all the tickets to the seller.
In this case, the server 100 will transmit, to a computer of a banking institution, a request for transmission of electronic money from a first bank account to a second bank account (corresponding to the bank account of the seller), and when said request is authorized, to transfer a money amount corresponding to the sale of all n tickets associated with a specific good 11 with a commission percentage subtracted, such commission in practice is intended to ensure the maintenance of the lottery system management.
The advantages of the present invention are clear in light of the preceding description: it allows selling objects that may even have very high value at a price that - for the buyer of the electronic ticket(s) 10 - is extremely appealing since, even if winning is not assured, such buyer will spend an amount considerably lower than the actual value of the good. At the same time, the system, object of the present invention, ensures that the seller will not undersell the good, since independent of the unit cost of each electronic ticket, he will be assured of the fact that the good will only be sold when all the tickets corresponding to the predetermined number n have been sold. Regardless of the economic situation, even goods that are hard to sell through an optional sale channel will be sold at a price similar to the actual value, and the buyer user will likewise be attracted by the possibility to purchase the good at a potentially very low cost.
In brief, therefore, the system, object of the present invention, articulates the lottery sale of tickets in a sequential two-step system (booking, sale), in which the sale and subsequent draw is preceded by a step of booking with predetermined success criterion, which ensures security for the buyer (in terms of economic convenience with respect to the actual cost of the good), as well as for the seller (in terms of secure payment when the good is sold).
Finally, it is clear that additions, modifications and variants obvious for the man skilled in the art can be applied to the system and method according to the present invention, without departing from the protective scope provided by the enclosed claims.
