Definitions

  • the invention relates to polyurethane-based moisture-curing compositions with a very high content of fillers which are suitable as adhesives, sealants or coatings.
  • Moisture-curing compositions based on polyurethanes have long been known and are used inter alia for elastic bonds or seals.
  • compositions are often formulated as one-component compositions which can be applied from different containers (e.g., cartridges) directly and without admixture with other required ingredients and cured with moisture. In most cases, it is atmospheric moisture that reacts with the reactive polyurethane components of the compositions and results in crosslinking and curing of the composition.
  • the respective compositions may vary widely depending on the field of application and sometimes have very different e.g. mechanical end properties, but in most cases contain at least one moisture-reactive polyurethane polymer and at least one filler.
  • the filler has different functions. First, it affects the mechanical properties of the cured composition, such as strength, ductility or hardness. On the other hand, the filler is often one of the most cost-effective components of a composition, with which higher-filled compositions usually have significantly lower production costs than low-filled ones.
  • fillers in polyurethane compositions however, limits are set up.
  • the mechanical properties suffer from too high filled compositions after curing, which is noticeable, for example, in low elongations at break. As a result, for example, such compositions can no longer be used for stretchable waterproofing. tion of connection joints or expansion joints.
  • the processability of highly filled polyurethane compositions is often negatively influenced. In particular, it must be taken into account that with a high content of filler, the compositions extremely thicken and can be applied only with very high force eg from cartridges and in the extreme case, an application with handguns is no longer possible.
  • too high a filler content can also lead to the compositions being no longer stable because, for example, water contained in the filler can react with the polyurethane polymers and already leads to a hardening in the container.
  • the object of the present invention is therefore to provide a highly filled, preferably one-component, moisture-curing composition based on polyurethanes, which has good mechanical properties in the cured state and which has no significant impairment of the application properties or storage stability.
  • compositions according to claim 1 solve this problem. These contain a content of filler of at least 70 weight percent, which is considered to be extremely high.
  • Compositions according to the invention have good mechanical properties, such as elongation at break, in the cured state and can be processed surprisingly easily in the uncured state.
  • compositions according to the invention have the advantage that they are accessible inexpensively due to the extraordinarily high filler content. Further aspects of the invention are the subject of further independent claims. Particularly preferred embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims. Description

HOCHGEFÜLLTE POLYURETHANZUSAMMENSETZUNG
Technisches Gebiet
