Description

A CONNECTION MEMBER THAT PROVIDES EASE OF ASSEMBLY
The present invention relates to a connection member that enables the cooktop to be mounted on the counter in an easy and proper manner.
In kitchen furniture, a housing is opened on the counter and the cooktop can be placed therein. Since the thicknesses of counters and/or the lower casings of the cooktops vary, assembly members with a simple configuration are required for adjusting the level of the cooktop with respect to the counter. The cooktop is expected to be easily mounted so as to be almost at the same level with the working area on the counter independently from the thickness of the counter into which the cooktop is intended to be placed.
In the state of the art European Patent Application No. EP2110607, a cooking hob is disclosed which comprises a one-piece fastening element mounted into the cut-out on the counter in a simple manner.
The connection member realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a bracket one end of which is fixed to the lower casing of a cooktop suitable for being placed into the counter and the other end of which is positioned close to the counter. The connection member furthermore comprises more than one level adjustment member placed on the bracket so as to remain between the cooktop and the counter and that can interlock with each other. The level adjustment members are used at the desired height by being mounted one over the other. Thus, the position of the cooktop, which is connected to the bracket whereon the level adjustment members are mounted, can be adjusted with respect to the counter.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the level adjustment members comprise two rails provided oppositely on the level adjustment members and two channels whereon the rails are mounted. By means of the channel and rails being inserted into one another, the level adjustment members can be detachably joined.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the level adjustment member comprises a protrusion and a recess formed so as to allow the protrusion, which is provided on another level adjustment member, to bear against the surface thereof.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the bracket comprises a cut-out against which the protrusion bears when the level adjustment member is placed on the bracket. By means of the protrusion that bears against the surface of the cut-out, the level adjustment member is firmly mounted on the bracket.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the connection member comprises a screw that is mounted on an opening provided on the bracket, that enables the bracket to be fixed on the lower casing and that assists in adjusting the level of the cooktop by being tightened. When the screw is tightened, the cooktop stretches downwards. Thus, the cooktop burner plate is enabled to bear against the counter in a water-tight and dirt-tight manner.
A kitchen furniture realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
Figure 1 – is the partial cross-sectional view of the counter, the cooktop and the connection member having more than one level adjustment member related to an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 2 – is the cross-sectional view of the connection member related to an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 3 – is the partial cross-sectional view of the counter, the cooktop and the connection member having one level adjustment member related to an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 4 – is the perspective view of a bracket and a level adjustment member related to an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 5 – is the perspective view of the connection member related to an embodiment of the present invention.
The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
  1. Connection member
  2. Bracket
  3. Level adjustment member
  4. Channel
  5. Rail
  6. Cut-out
  7. Screw
  8. Opening
20. Counter
21. Protrusion
22. Recess
30. Cooktop
31. Lower casing
The connection member (1) comprises a bracket (2) one end of which is fastened to the lower casing (31) of a cooktop (30) suitable for being placed in an opening (A) on the counter (20). The bracket (2) is aligned so as to remain between the counter (20) and the lower casing (31).
The connection member (1) of the present invention comprises more than one level adjustment member (3) that is mounted to the end of the bracket (2) close to the counter (20), that is detachably mounted one over the other and that limits the movement of the cooktop (30) in the vertical direction by bearing against the lower surface of the counter (20). In this embodiment, the number of the level adjustment members (3) placed one over the other in the vertical direction is determined according to the thickness of the counter (20). By means of the level adjustment members (3) detachably mounted one over the other in an easy manner, the cooktop (30) is mounted into the counter (20) so as to be almost at the same level with the working area on the counter (20) in any case independently from the thickness of the counter (20). Thus, the esthetic perception is improved and the cooktop (30) is enabled to be mounted into the counter (20) in a water-tight manner.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the level adjustment member (3) comprises two channels (4) that are arranged on one surface thereof and that enable the level adjustment member (3) to be grouped with another level adjustment member (3) and two rails (5) disposed on the surface thereof opposite to the surface whereon the channels (4) are arranged. By means of the rails (5) disposed in a staggered manner being fitted over the channels (4), the level adjustment members (3) can be detachably joined. Thus, the total thickness of the level adjustment members (3) mounted one over the other can be easily adjusted.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the level adjustment member (3) comprises a protrusion (21) and a recess (22) provided on the opposite surfaces thereof and enabling the level adjustment members (3) to be interlocked with each other. The protrusion (21) provided on the level adjustment member (3) bears against the recess (22) arranged on the other level adjustment member (3) and thus enables the level adjustment members (3) to be firmly mounted one over the other.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the bracket (2) comprises a cut-out (6) against which the protrusion (21) bears when the level adjustment member (3) is placed on the bracket (2). By means of the protrusion (21) that bears against the surface of the cut-out (6), the level adjustment member (3) is firmly mounted on the bracket (2).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the connection member (1) comprises an opening (8) provided on the bracket (2) and a screw (7) that is mounted on the opening (8), that enables the bracket (2) to be fixed on the lower casing (31) and that assists in adjusting the level of the cooktop (30) by being tightened. When the screw (7) is tightened, the cooktop (30) stretches downwards. Thus, the cooktop (30) burner plate is enabled to bear against the counter (20) so that no gap remains therebetween. The air-tightness of the cooktop (30) is improved.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the level adjustment members (3) have different thicknesses. Thus, the level adjustment members (3) with thicknesses that can match the thickness of the counter (20) into which the cooktop (30) is placed, are selected and joined.
By means of the present invention, the cooktop (30) can be easily mounted so as to be at the same level with the working area on the counter (20) independently from the thickness of the counter (20) into which the cooktop (30) is intended to be placed by joining level adjustment members (3) with different thicknesses and in different numbers. Thus, the cooktop (30) is prevented from being mounted to the counter (20) so as to form protrusions or recesses on the counter (20). Thus, the esthetic perception is improved and the cooktop (30) is enabled to be embedded in the counter (20) in a water-tight manner.
