Description

Disc coulter Technical Field
The invention relates to disc coulters, specifically to the disc coulters of agricultural machines for seed dispersing and/or applying fertiliser in solid or liquid form.
State of the Art
Currently, disc coulters of agricultural machines for seed dispersion and/or applying fertiliser are known which consist of one or two rotary discs that throw the soil, creating a space for the application device, and thus also protecting this device from damage.
Rotary discs rotate as the agricultural machine moves across the field, and thus, clods of earth or other soil residues become stuck on their interior sides. These are scraped off with the help of various scrapers which are mounted on these rotary discs so that they rotate in such a way that the interior side of the rotary disc is always kept clean. Like a palette-knife, longitudinal scrapers like screed plates or knives, are set longitudinally in a side position on the edge of the disc and so serve to scrape off soil accumulated on the rotary disk and are thus scraped by these. In this case, it is important to remove these soil residues, completely if possible. Otherwise, after fieldwork and the machine is it shut down, a hard crust would form on the rotary disc which would then have to be laboriously removed before the machine was next used.
From known state of the art, there is a disc coulter which has a single disc on which a segmented scraper is mounted, the leading edge of which is in direct contact with the moving soil. It is made elongated so that in addition to removing soil from the disc, it partially protects the application equipment as well. The disadvantage of this design is that protection of the application equipment is only partial, and thus often leads to damage and so to decommissioning.
From patent document DE 202007015632 we know a disc coulter with a pair of rotating circular discs. On the inner side of the discs, scrapers are mounted intended for scraping off residual adhering lumps of soil, soil particles, pieces of vegetation, and the like. The scrapers are constructed so as to be movable slat segments, with the slat segments having their edges continually pressed against the surface of the discs. A great disadvantage of this design is that the slat segments quickly wear out, which leads to a decrease in efficiency, and mainly this means increased costs to maintain the machine in operational condition.
Similarly designed scrapers are furthermore known from patent documents EP 0056988, U.S. 4330041, U.S. 4034688 and EP 0872168 where the main disadvantages of the structures known from of these patent documents, i.e. reduced lifetime of the slats used for scraping are the same as in the previous patent document DE 202007015632.
From the above noted state of the art, there are many obvious disadvantages, with the most significant disadvantage of the current state of the art being that the scrapers have a short service life. Among other disadvantages of the current state of the art is included the limited functionality of some designs, particularly in regard to their limited scraping ability for discs which throw larger quantities of soil. When disks of this construction throw large quantities of soil, it leads to excessive wear of said discs and possibly to their stoppage.
The aim of the invention is a disc coulter of an agricultural machine which will include fully functional scraper discs which will have a long service life and low maintenance costs.
Principle of the Invention
The mentioned deficiencies are to a large part removed and the objectives of the invention fulfilled by a disc coulter, specifically to a disc coulter of agricultural machines for seed metering and/or applying fertiliser in solid or liquid form, comprising a seeding and/or dosing device mounted between a pair of disks on whose inner side rests a scraping means, which is a flat scraper segment, which is in resilient pressure to the disc surface and is mounted on at least one elastic plane, according to the invention which is characterised in that the flat scraper segment has its greatest face surface arranged touching the surface of the disk so that it is held tight against it, and at the same time its shape is adapted to the shape of the surface of the disc. This design is relatively simple, and at the same time has minimal maintenance requirements. Although this leads to the constant contact of the large surface of the scraper segment with the inner surface of the disc, the main advantage of this design is minimal wear and thus a long service life of the scraper segments. It is also to great advantage that the flexible plane ensures permanent, partly adjustable contact pressure of the scraper segment on the surface of the disc. The flat scraper segment can essentially constantly move with the disc surface, and so can perform an axial movement in a case where the disc is crooked or has slipped from its axis.
It is to advantage if the flat scraper segment includes a leading edge which improves and simplifies the removal of residual soil adhering to the inner surface of the disc.
Given that most of the soil residue clings to the edge of the disc, it is to advantage if the fiat scraper segment is mounted on the edge of the disc.
In regard to the maximum possible increase in service life, it is to advantage if the flat scraper segment is constructed to be rigid and unyielding.
Furthermore, it is to advantage if the flexible plane is attached to a bracket which is mounted in the machine frame, whereby the entire arrangement is adjustable.
From the viewpoint of minimising costs, it is to advantage if the ffexible plane is constructed of metal.
In regard to scraping efficiency, it is to the greatest advantage if the flexible plane is designed in the shape of the letter "V" or "U".
A disc coulter according to the invention has a simple construction, its production is inexpensive and very functional, and most importantly brings minimal maintenance and operating costs because the proposed scraping segment has a much longer service life than previously known types of scrapers. Thanks to the position of the scraper segment "flat against the disk" the coefficient of friction is reduced while maintaining the proper scraping function. The overall design of the scraper makes it capable of handling even greater roughness and soil throw.
Overview of the Figures
The invention wilt be further elucidated using drawings, in which Fig. 1 shows a detailed axonometric view with a partial cross-section of the scraper means as arranged in the structure of the entire coulter, Fig. 2 shows an axonometric view of the whole coulter, Fig. 3 shows a detailed frontal view of the coulter with the scraping means, and Fig. 4 shows an overall axonometric view of an agricultural machine for dispensing seed and/or fertiliser in solid or liquid form.
Examples of the Performance of the Invention
The disc coulter 10 (Fig. 1 , Fig. 2, Fig. 3) of an agricultural machine JM (Fig. 4) for metering seed and /or fertiliser in solid or liquid form, comprising a seeding and/or dosing means mounted between a pair of disks 1,2.
Abutting the inner side 4 of each of the discs 1,2 there is one scraping means 3 which is a flat scraper segment 12.
The flat scraper segment 12 has its greatest face surface 13 arranged touching the surface of the disks 1,2 so that to the disk 1,2 it is held tight against it and at the same time its shape is adapted to the shape of the surface of the discs 1,2. The flat scraping segment 12 includes a leading edge 9, constructed to be rigid and unyielding.
The flat scraping segment 12 is in resilient pressure to the surface of the disc 1,2 and is mounted on at least one flexible plane 5 on the edge 8 of the disc 12.
The flexible plane 5 is made of metal, and is attached to the bracket 6, which is mounted in the frame 7 of the machine H. The flexible plane 5 is made in the shape of the letter "V" or "U".
