DETAILED DESCRIPTION
[0043] With reference to the aforementioned figures, reference numeral 4 globally denotes an actuation device for brakes and/or clutches, in particular for motorcycles, provided with a device body 8. The device body 8 may be made of any material, preferably metal and / or polymeric material.
[0044] The device 4 comprises an attachment portion 12 suitable to permit the attachment of the device 4 to the handlebar 16 of an associable motorcycle, and a guide and support portion 20 of an actuation element 24 of the device 4, such as for example an actuation lever rotating around an actuation axis Y-Y. The device body 8 comprises a tank of liquid 22 for the actuation of the brake and/or clutch, fitted with a respective stopper 23.
[0045] Preferably, the device body comprises and is in one piece with said tank of liquid 22.
[0046] The actuation lever 24, rotated by the user, acts in a known manner on a piston device (not shown) which pressurises the fluid contained in said tank; such pressurised fluid, by means of a hydraulic circuit, will command the actuation of the device upstream, such as the brake or the clutch.
[0047] The attachment portion 12 comprises a pair of attachment brackets 28 partially counter-shaped to an associable handlebar 16 so as to form a housing seat 32 having a cylindrical configuration of the longitudinal axis X-X, suitable to partially house the. portion of handlebar 16 used for the attachment of the actuation device 4.
[0048] Preferably, one of said attachment brackets 28' extends in a single piece from a first to a second end 33,34, wherein the first end 33 is facing the attachment portion 12 and the second end 34 is facing the support and guide portion 20, so as to intercept and connect further to each other the attachment portion 12 and the support and guide portion 20.
[0049] The attachment bracket 28' which extends in one piece from the first to the second end 33,34 is the lower bracket, i.e. opposite said stopper 23 of the tank of liquid 22.
[0050] Advantageously, the actuation device 4 comprises at least one support bracket 36, distanced from the attachment brackets 28 along said longitudinal axis X-X, on the side opposite the actuation lever 24, wherein the support bracket 36 comprises a support end 40 suitable to rest on the associable handlebar 16.
[0051 ] According to one embodiment, the at least one support bracket 36 projects from the device body 8 on the side opposite the actuation lever 24, towards the associable handlebar 16.
[0052] According to one embodiment, the at least one support bracket 36 projects from the device body 8 perpendicular to said longitudinal axis X-X.
[0053] Preferably, the device body 8 has a main extension parallel to said longitudinal axis X-X, from a first longitudinal end 44, on the side of the actuation lever 24, to a second longitudinal end 48 opposite the first longitudinal end along the longitudinal axis X-X, wherein the attachment brackets 28 are placed at the first longitudinal end 44 and the at least one support bracket 36 is placed at the second longitudinal end 48.
[0054] According to one embodiment, the support bracket 36 comprises a support end 40 shaped so as to define a concave cylindrical wall suitable to interface with the associable handlebar 16 so as to be able to rotate in relation thereto.
[0055] For example, the support end 40 defines at least partially a concave cylindrical wall 52 and the attachment brackets 36 define a second lateral cylindrical wall 56, wherein the concave cylindrical wall 52 and the second lateral cylindrical wall 56 have the same radius in relation to the longitudinal axis X-X and are coaxial with said longitudinal axis X-X.
[0056] The attachment brackets 28 are separate from each other, to allow the opening and relative assembly on the handlebar 16, on a clamping plane 60; said clamping plane 60 being substantially parallel to said stopper 23 ( figures 1-8 ) .
[0057] According to one embodiment, the at least one support bracket 36 is positioned on the same side as one of said attachment brackets 28, in relation to the clamping plane 60.
[0058] It is also possible to provide that the at least one support bracket 36 be positioned astride said clamping plane 60 so as to angularly overlap, in relation to a projection plane P perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X-X, at least partially with both attachment brackets 28.
[0059] According to further embodiments, the device 4 comprises two separate support brackets 36 ', 36' ', spaced apart along said longitudinal axis X-X.
[0060] For example, each of said support brackets 36' , 36" angularly overlaps, in relation to a projection plane P perpendicular to the longitudinal axis X-X, with a different attachment bracket 28.
[0061 ] Such embodiment (figures 6-8) permits a support in both directions; this way the assembly of the actuation device to the handlebar is also facilitated, as illustrated schematically in figure 8.
[0062] According to a further embodiment of the present invention (figures 9-14), the attachment brackets 28 are separate from each other at a clamping plane 60, said clamping plane 60 being perpendicular to said stopper 23.
[0063] Preferably, in such embodiment, the device 4 comprises a support bracket 36 positioned symmetrically to a centreline plane M-M perpendicular to said clamping plane 60.
[0064] In all the embodiments of the present invention, the support brackets 36 may be made in one piece with the device body 8, but it is also possible, for said support brackets 36 to be attached to the device body 8 by connection means.
[0065] Said connection means may also comprise gluing but are preferably removable connection means, such as screws or similar of threaded connection means.
[0066] It is also possible to apply interfaces to the support ends 40 of the support brackets 36.
[0067] As may be appreciated from the description, the actuation device according to the invention makes it possible to overcome the drawbacks of the prior art.
[0068] In particular, in case of a fall the actuation device is able to offer a greater resistance to impact due to the presence of the support bracket which improves the distribution of the stresses transferred to the device body and which prevents, as in the solutions of the prior art, the device body from being entirely overhanging in relation to the attachment brackets.
[0069] The device according to the present invention entails an entirely negligible weight increase and does not weigh down or jeopardise the aesthetics of the device itself.
[0070] The support bracket is preferably counter-shaped to the relative support portion of the handlebar, thus presenting a cylindrical geometry: the geometric conformation improves stress distribution and does not obstruct the possible rotation of the entire actuation device around the handlebar itself, already permitted by the shape of the seats of the attachment brackets.
[0071 ] The use of an attachment bracket which connects in one piece the first end facing the attachment portion, and the second end, facing the guide and support portion, as seen, makes it possible to intercept and further connect the attachment portion and the guide and support portion to each other: such mechanical connection, combined with the presence of the support brackets, gives the actuation device a significant mechanical strength even in case of significant impact and stresses.
[0072] A person skilled in the art may make numerous modifications and variations to the actuation devices described above so as to satisfy contingent and specific requirements . while remaining within the sphere of protection of the invention as defined by the following claims .
