Abstract
Disclosed is a modular, re-locatable microgrid (1) and a method of operating that microgrid (1). The method comprises providing a microgrid (1) comprising a power source module (2), a power storage module (6), and a load module (12). Each of the microgrid modules is located at a respective first location. The power storage module (6) is switchable between operating as a further power source and a power store. The power storage module (6) may receive power from the power source module (2). The load module (12) may receive power from the power source module (2) and the power storage module (6). The method further comprises disconnecting at least one module from the microgrid (1), thereby producing at least two sub-assemblies; moving the microgrid modules from the first locations to second locations that are different to the first locations; and re-connecting the sub-assemblies to produce a relocated microgrid (1).
