- Lateral holes 240 are drilled outwardly from the vertical portions of the gas wells 10. As can be seen from the figure, lateral holes 240 on the left sides of the gas wells 10 diverge from each other and then portions of the lateral holes further away from the gas wells 10 run parallel to each other and transverse to a longitudinal axis of the gas wells 10.

Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé de forage de puits de gaz, le procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à forer un puits de gaz, à descendre un tubage de puits de gaz dans le puits de gaz, à former au moins une ouverture dans le tubage de puits de gaz et à former une pluralité de trous latéraux vers l'extérieur de la ou des ouvertures dans le matériau entourant le tubage de puits de gaz, chacun de la pluralité de trous latéraux ayant une partie proche située près du tubage de puits de gaz qui s'étend dans une direction s'éloignant d'un axe longitudinal du tubage de puits de gaz, et une partie éloignée qui est éloignée du tubage de puits de gaz et qui s'étend dans une direction qui est transversale à l'axe longitudinal du tubage de puits de gaz, chacun de la pluralité de trous latéraux ayant une région de transition disposée entre la partie proche et la partie éloignée, la région de transition ayant un rayon compris dans la plage allant jusqu'à 40 mètres, et la partie éloignée de chaque trou latéral s'étendant sensiblement parallèlement à la partie éloignée d'au moins un autre trou latéral.
