Description

DESCRIPTION SEGMENTED PLATE SYSTEM
Technical field of the invention
The present invention relates to a segmented plate system formed by uniting large and small plate components employed in bodywork welding and jointing assemblies in the automotive industry.
Background Art
Plates currently used today are either structured by weld jointing or cut from steel or aluminium alloy materials of a size range of 15-40 mm. Such productions are so called "tailor's seam" special constructions. With discontinued production of the models, such previously manufactured plates cannot be employed in manufacturing another model and so are generally scrapped.
Technical problems addressed by the invention Thanks to the segmented plate structure (system) under the present invention, plates employed in the manufacture of a particular model are not scrapped and may be reused thanks to their segmented composition once the manufacturing of the model is discontinued in favour of another one. Segmented plates can be constructed in distinct forms and sizes. Hence, once an addition or modification is desired on an assembly, it can seamlessly be transformed into a new system without wasting any single component thanks to its segmented composition. Since segmented plates are constructed by casting and in segmented form, they can any time undergo thermal treatment. As a matter of fact, thermal treatment on a plate consisting of small components is more practical compared to a single compact type. Thus, potential current losses caused by welding processes will be minimized. In current assemblies, a cable conduit is used around the assembly to organize pneumatic and electrical installations on the assembly. Thanks to the segmented plate developed under the present invention, the assembly intrinsically has a cable conduit around it. Description of figures:

The segmented plate system (1) in Figure 1 and Figure 7 manufactured by casting has been constructed in large or small type, i.e. in desired size. If it is desired to construct a large-scale plate for the segmented plate system (1), the design has a segmented central plate (1.1) at the centre, a segmented side plate (1.2) on the sides, and a segmented corner plate (1.3) at the corners. If it is desired to construct a small-scale plate for the segmented plate system (1), the design has a segmented central plate (1.1) at the centre, a segmented narrow side plate (1.4) on the sides, and a segmented narrow corner plate (1.5) at the comers. Thanks to the structure under the present invention, the large-scale plate version may be designed with segmented narrow side (1.4) segmented narrow comer (1.5) plates whereas small-scale plate version may be designed with segmented side plates (1.2) and segmented comer plates (1.3) optionally. Hence, various combinations of these segmented plates may yield a range of various sizes. Each design type has plate legs (1.6), cable conduit (1.7), cable conduit covers (1.8) and panel (1.9) as its typical components. Segmented comer plates (1.3), segmented narrow side plates and segmented narrow comer plates (1.4, 1.5) intrinsically have built-in cable conduits (1.3.3;1.4.2;1.5.2).

As illustrated in Figure 4, various types of segmented plates may be attached to all three sides of the segmented side plate (1.2) assembly. Attachment and fixing is performed by means of the bolt and pin connection (1.2.1) as illustrated in Figure 4. The segmented side plate (1.2) assembly is constructed by casting, and suitable for coating and painting. As illustrated in Figure 3, it may optionally be attached perpendicularly to other plate components as well. As illustrated in Figure 4, the lower part of the segmented side plate (1.2) houses embossed lettering (1.2.2) to facilitate to the assembly. As illustrated in Figure 6, various types of segmented plates may be attached to both sides of the segmented corner plate (1.3) assembly. Attachment and fixing is performed by means of the bolt and pin connection (1.3.1) as illustrated in Figure 6. The segmented corner plate (1.3) assembly is constructed by casting, and suitable for coating and painting. Figure 1 shows the panel (1.9) of the segmented plate system (1). Electrical and pneumatic panels (1.9) of different sizes and dimensions can be attached to the plates. Figure 8 shows the bottom view of the segmented plate system (7) in Figure 1. Figure 7 shows the small-size plate version of the segmented plate system (1). The segmented central plate (1.1) positioned centrally on this version has previously been described. There is the segmented narrow side plate (1.4) assembly on the sides and the segmented narrow corner plate (1.5) assembly at the corners. Figure 9 shows segmented narrow side plate (1.4) that can be positioned on the outer sides of the segmented plate system (1) under the present invention. Figure 8 and Figure 9 shows the connection of the segmented narrow corner plate (1.5). Due to the narrow structure of the segmented narrow corner plate (1.5) in Figure 9, connection to and fixing on one side is performed with bolt and pin connection (1.5.1).
The segmented narrow side plate (1.4) assembly is constructed by casting, and suitable for coating and painting. As illustrated in Figure 9, it may optionally be attached perpendicularly to other plate components as well. Figure 10 shows the segmented plate system (1), with its one side designed in compatibility with the cable conduit (1.4.2). Such cable conduit (1.4.2) formed as illustrated in Figure 10 can be sealed with a cable conduit cover (1.8).
Hence, all electrical cables and pneumatic hoses on the assembly can be packed into the cable 5 conduit ( 1 .4.2).
In Figure 7, Figure 8, Figure 9, Figure 10 and Figure 1 1 , the segmented narrow corner plate ( 1 .5) positioned on outer comers of the segmented plate system (1) under the present invention is shown. Due to the narrow structure of the segmented narrow comer plate (1.5) as illustrated in Figure 1 1 , various types of segmented plates and fastenings may be connected to
10 one side by means of bolt and pin connection (1 .5.1). The segmented narrow comer plate (1.5) assembly is constructed by casting, and suitable for coating and painting. As illustrated in Figure 9, it may optionally be attached perpendicularly to other plate components as well. Thanks to the special composition of the segmented narrow comer plate (1.5) in Figure 10, a cable conduit (1 .5.2) is intrinsically formed. Such cable conduit (1.5.2) formed as illustrated
1 5 in Figure 10 can be sealed with a cable conduit cover (1.8). Hence, all electrical cables and pneumatic hoses on the assembly can be packed into the cable conduit (1.5.2).
Industrial applicability of the invention
Successfully bringing solutions to the abovementioned technical problems, the segmented plate system (1) would be manufactured more favourably and used more commonly in the 10 automotive industry compared to other plates.
