Abstract

The present application relates to a method of predicting at least one neuro-developmental phenotype of a subject, comprising detecting a degree of an epigenetic alteration of at least one gene or a regulatory element of the at least one gene in a sample of the subject, wherein the at least one gene is selected from the group consisting of DBH, KLK7, HES1, NR4A2, COMT, FAM83F, FANK1, MPP3, CMBL, C21 orf49, C11 orf61, TMEM65, IL1RN, SLC35F5, OR6N2, NFE2L2, TTC26, EYA2, TCF4, GAS2L3, ZMPSTE24, CIB4, LONRF1, KLRC4, RTN3, FGFBP3, RNF103, INHBA-AS1, CIA01, CLEC12A, SIM2, ACADSB, C9orf5, ABCA5, FER1L5, DERA, FGF11, ETS1, GAB1, CNN1, and OR1S1, and wherein the degree of the epigenetic alteration of the at least one gene or the regulatory element of the at least one gene indicates the - neuro-developmental phenotype of the subject. There is also provided a kit for performing a method of predicting at least one neuro-developmental phenotype of a subject, and a method of screening a prenatal composition for improving at least one neuro-developmental phenotype of a subject.
