Abstract

The invention relates to a sound absorber for absorbing the outflow noise of compressed air flowing out of an air-processing system, comprising an inlet opening (4) for the inflow of compressed air, which inlet opening is arranged on an end face of a pot-shaped housing (1) and which compressed air flows out of at least one outlet opening (6) to the atmosphere in a noise-reduced manner via noise-absorbing means housed in an expansion chamber (5) of the housing (1), wherein the noise-absorbing means have a pot-shaped inlet area (7), which is arranged on the inlet opening (4) and which has an impact bottom (8) that is curved outwardly in a flow-optimized manner, which impact bottom has at least one central passage (9) in the vertex area of the curvature in order to conduct a small part of the inflowing compressed air directly into the expansion chamber (5).
