Description

DESCRIPTION
A PORTABLE ENDOSCOPY DEVICE Technical Field
The invention is related with portable endoscopy device, which is worn on doctor's finger during implementation stage to identify clearly any polyp, bulk and other lesions that may occur within gaps of rectal and vagina regions of patients through transmission of images caught by the camera on body side of the device and lighting unit to any screen and which can be carried easily by doctors.
Prior Art Under current conditions, endoscopy device is used to scan upper part of gastrointestinal system (esophagus, stomach, duodenum); whereas, colonoscopy device is used for scanning of lower gastrointestinal system (colon and end sections of small intestine). In addition, unstable or fixed rectoscope or anascope is used to scan end sections of colon. As for vaginal examinations, vaginal region is viewed by means of speculum. Besides, rectal region and vagina are examined through index finger tip (digital examination) and accordingly, lesions such as polyp, bulks are defined in such gaps. Diameter of endoscope and colonoscope is larger than 2 cm and such imaging methods are merely implemented by physicians specialized in this area by means of devices, which are expensive to supply or purchase. In addition, these devices cover large areas along with light sources and imaging monitor and hence, have fixed positions making them impossible to be carried by doctors. United States Patent document no. US5088500 explains a portable imaging device placed on fingertip of doctors and enabling visualization of rectal regions through ultrasound method (outside of organ). However, direct image cannot be obtained l with ultrasound. The image obtained by transmission of vibration waves oscillated on edge of ultrasound probe, which is moved on body tissue is not identical and is interpreted by the radiologist. As it is explained above and with respect to the technique and documents implemented, a portable endoscopy device is not available, which allows visualization through inner side of the body and which enables, accordingly, clear identification. Brief Description of the Invention
Objective of this invention is to obtain portable endoscopy device worn on fingers by the doctors to enable imaging from inside of the body through its camera located on the body and lighting element.
Detailed Description of the Invention
Endoscopy device, which is the subject matter of the invention, is presented in following enclosed figures;
FIGURE- 1 Top perspective view of the portable endoscopy device.
FIGURE-2 Side perspective view of the portable endoscopy device when the device is connected to a screen
FIGURE-3 Perspective view of the portable endoscopy device when the device is worn on user's finger and connected to the screen
FIGURE-4 Perspective view of the portable endoscopy device when the device is worn on user's finger
Parts in the figure are numbered separately as following:
1. Portable endoscopy device 2. Body
3. Clamp
4. Transmission cable
5. Screen
6. Camera
7. Light source
8. Lighting element
9. Air compressor
10. Insufflator cannula
Portable endoscopy device invented (1) consists of;
- a body (2)
- at least one clamp (3) placed on the body side (2) and worn onto the finger to enable the device ( 1 ) to remain fixed on the finger
- at least one camera (6) installed on edge side of the device, which is entered inside of the body and transmitting relevant image to the screen (5) through transmission cable (4)
- at least one lighting element (8) installed on edge side of the device body (2), which is entered inside of the human body and functioning with the energy received from light source (7) and enabling the camera (6) to get clearer image by creating light within the body during visualization process of the camera (6) inside of the body
- at least one insufflator cannula (10) installed on edge side of the device body (2), which is entered inside of the human body and functioning through the drive of air compressor (9), as well as enabling visualization on wider areas by blowing up the imaging area with air during visualization process of the camera (6) inside of the human body. Body (2) of the endoscopy device (1), which is subject matter of the invention, is in the form of plate made of plastic preferably or metal, rubber, silicon that can be worn on index finger by means of clamps (3) or in the shape of glove tip in which the finger is entered.
Screen (5) of the invented endoscopy device (1) functions through transmission cable (5) of the camera (6). Visualization is performed on the screen (5). Monitor, mobile phone or smart computers performing color imaging may also be used as screen (4).
Camera (6) of the portable endoscopy device invented (1) is installed on edge side of the body (2) and provides visualization inside of the body. Camera (6) receives its operating power from the screen (5) where it is connected through transmission cable (4). Thereby, it reflects the images within the body onto the screen (5) through transmission cable (4). Clearer visualization of the camera (6) inside of the body is achieved by lighting element (8), which creates light inside of the body. Lighting element is connected to the light source (7) with a cable and functions on the basis of the energy received from light source (7). Whenever visualization on wider areas within the body is attempted through the camera (6), insufflator cannula (10) takes part in the process. Insufflator cannula (10) creates wider areas inside of the body by transferring the air drawn from air compressor (9) into the body.
Portable endoscopy device (1), which is the subject of the invention, has usage areas in terms of physicians as the device can easily be carried in any bag during daily life, enables visualization of lesions in finger touch distance and visualizes lesions, which cannot be viewed by eyes during surgery, but accessible by finger tip (such as liver and spleen back) and the device does not necessitate expertise, certificate or specific training period.
