Both devices are operatively coupled to a set-top box (STB), such that one or more activities relating to broadcast content display on the second device, i.e., monitored device, will be reported to the STB.

If the reported activity corresponds to terminating broadcast or TV viewing on the second device, then the STB can also stop the PIP window display on the monitoring device, so that monitored content associated with the specific monitored device will no longer be shown on the monitoring device.

Abstract

Selon l'invention, un système et une méthode sont dotés de deux dispositifs d'affichage accouplés à un boîtier décodeur, dans lesquels un dispositif d'affichage est utilisé pour surveiller un contenu télévisé ou de diffusion étant affiché sur un autre dispositif. En réponse à une action ou une activité associées à l'affichage de contenu diffusé sur le dispositif surveillé, un message est envoyé automatiquement du dispositif surveillé au boîtier décodeur avec des informations concernant l'activité. En fonction du message reçu, une instruction est envoyée à partir du boîtier décodeur pour modifier l'affichage de contenu sur le dispositif de surveillance.
