TECHNICAL FIELD
[0002] Certain embodiments of the present invention are directed to computer technology. More particularly, some embodiments of the invention provide systems and methods for information processing. Merely by way of example, some embodiments of the invention have been applied to electronic games. But it would be recognized that the invention has a much broader range of applicability.
BACKGROUND
[0003] With development of electronic equipment and the Internet, it has become very common to play online electronic games on electronic equipment, such as smart phones, laptops, desktops and tablet computers. Online electronic games have become popular for leisure and entertainment. In an online electronic game, an object that a player controls on electronic equipment is called a role in the online electronic game. Many roles in the electronic games often need to change their positions in the game (i.e., role movements). For instance, in a role-playing game (RPG), a role may need to move from position A to position B. Currently, there are many methods to control a role to move in an online electronic game. For instance, if an electronic equipment includes a touch pad, a player can slide fingers on the touch pad to control the movements of a role in the online electronic game. In another example, if the electronic equipment includes a mouse or a keyboard, the player can also use the mouse or keys on the keyboard to control the movements of the role. The above- noted conventional methods often have some disadvantages.
[0004] Hence it is highly desirable to improve the techniques for executing electronic games.

The method 100 includes at least the processes 101-103. For example, a network server is configured to execute the method 100.
[0021] According to one embodiment, the process 101 includes: receiving geographic location information of a terminal. For example, an electronic game includes an online electronic game. In another example, the electronic game involves
role movements, e.g., a role-playing game, a sports or recreational game. In yet another example, the network server includes a server of online electronic games. In yet another example, the terminal includes a smart phone, a tablet computer, and/or other mobile terminals. In yet another example, the geographic location information includes latitude information, longitude information and/or altitude information of the terminal. In yet another example, the latitude information, the longitude information and/or the altitude information can be acquired through a global positioning system.
[0022] According to another embodiment, the process 102 includes: determining displacement information of a role in an electronic game according to the geographic location information and a predetermined processing strategy. For example, a displacement of the terminal is determined according to the latitude information, the longitude information and/or the altitude information contained in the geographic location information that was received for a plurality of times (e.g., twice). In another example, the displacement information of the role in the electronic game is determined according to the displacement of the terminal and the proportion parameter in the processing strategy. According to yet another embodiment, the process 103 includes: sending the displacement information to the terminal so that the terminal (e.g., a mobile equipment) can control the role to move in the electronic game according to the displacement information.
[0023] Figure 2 is a simplified diagram showing a method for executing electronic games according to another embodiment of the present invention. This diagram is merely an example, which should not unduly limit the scope of the claims. One of ordinary skill in the art would recognize many variations, alternatives, and modifications. The method 200 includes at least the processes 201-204. For example, a terminal is configured to execute the method 200.
[0024] According to one embodiment, the process 201 includes: acquiring geographic location information. For example, the geographic location information includes latitude information, longitude information and/or altitude information of the terminal. In another example, the latitude information, the longitude information and/or the altitude information can be acquired through a global positioning system. In yet another example, the process 202 includes: sending the geographic location information to a network server. In yet another example, the latitude information, the
longitude information and/or the altitude information of the terminal is sent to the network server for a plurality of times at a predetermined sending frequency. In yet another example, the sending frequency is set according to the requirements of the electronic game. For instance, the sending frequency is set to a large value if the electronic game is a real-time game.
[0025] According to another embodiment, the process 203 includes: receiving displacement information of a role in an electronic game sent by the network server. For example, the displacement information is determined by the network server according to the geographic location information and a predetermined processing strategy. In another example, the process 204 includes: controlling the role to move in the electronic game according to the displacement information.
[0026] Figure 3 is a simplified diagram showing a method for executing electronic games according to yet another embodiment of the present invention. This diagram is merely an example, which should not unduly limit the scope of the claims. One of ordinary skill in the art would recognize many variations, alternatives, and modifications. The method 300 includes at least the processes 301-307.
[0027] According to one embodiment, during the process 301, a terminal loads a global positioning system through an electronic game. For example, the geographic location service is initialized based on the global positioning system. After the electronic game is started, the global positioning system is loaded through the electronic game. As an example, the electronic game includes an online electronic game. In another example, the electronic game involves role movements, e.g., a RPG, a sports game or a recreational game. In another example, during the process 302, the terminal acquires its own latitude information, longitude information and/or altitude information using the global positioning system. As an example, the terminal may acquire its own latitude information, longitude information and/or altitude information at a predetermined acquisition frequency which is the same as a subsequent sending frequency. As another example, the acquisition frequency may be set according to the requirements of the electronic game. For instance, the acquisition frequency is set high if the electronic game is a real-time game.
[0028] According to another embodiment, during the process 303, the terminal sends its own latitude information, longitude information and/or altitude information
to the network server for a plurality of times at a predetermined sending frequency. For example, the sending frequency is set according to the requirements of the electronic game. In another example, the sending frequency is set high if the electronic game is a real-time game. In yet another example, during the process 304, the network server determines the displacement of the terminal according to the latitude information, the longitude information and/or the altitude information contained in the geographic location information that is received for a plurality of times (e.g., twice). In yet another example, the network server determines the position of the terminal at two different times according to the latitude information, the longitude information and/or the altitude information that is received for a plurality of times (e.g., twice) and then determines the displacement of the terminal according to the position of the terminal at two different times.
[0029] According to yet another embodiment, during the process 305, the network server determines the displacement information of the role in the electronic game according to the displacement of the terminal and the proportion parameter. For example, the proportion parameter indicates the ratio of the displacement of the terminal to the displacement corresponding to the displacement information of the role in the electronic game. In another example, the proportion parameter in the predetermined processing strategy is 1: 5, which indicates that when the terminal is displaced by 10 meters, the displacement corresponding to the displacement information of the role in the electronic game is 5x10=50 meters. In yet another example, the displacement information also includes direction information. In yet another example, a direction indicated by the direction information is the same as the direction in which the terminal is displaced.
[0030] In one embodiment, during the process 306, the network server sends the displacement information to the terminal. For example, during the process 307, the terminal controls the role to move in the electronic game according to the
displacement information. In another example, a game task is predetermined, and when the role in the electronic game moves, a corresponding game event is triggered according to the effects of the movements. For instance, the role moves to an event- triggering point in the electronic game through the processes 301 - 307 due to the movement of the terminal. The terminal can display the game event in, for example, a pop-up window, a video window or other suitable means.
[0031] Figure 4 and Figure 5 are simplified diagrams showing executing an electronic game according to some embodiments of the present invention. The diagrams are merely examples, which should not unduly limit the scope of the claims. One of ordinary skill in the art would recognize many variations, alternatives, and modifications.
[0032] As shown in Figure 4, a user carries a terminal and walks 20 meters eastward from point A to point B, in some embodiments. For example, point A and point B are acquired by a global positioning system. As an example, altitude information of point A and point B is not considered, and how to determine point A and point B by latitudes and longitudes is similar to what is described above. In another example, after determining that the terminal moves 20 meters eastward from point A to point B, the network server uses the predetermined proportion parameter (e.g., 1:5) to determine the displacement information of the role in the electronic game. For instance, the determined displacement information indicates that a role in the electronic game walks 100 meters eastward. In another example, the network server sends the displacement information to the terminal and the terminal can move role 1 according to the displacement information. In yet another example, as shown in Figure 5, role 1 moves 100 meters eastward from position C to position D in the electronic game. In yet another example, position C and position D are virtual positions in the electronic game. A game event is predetermined at position D so that the terminal can display the game event when role 1 reaches position D, in some embodiments.
