Description

TUBE BLANK WITH BARRIER ELEMENT
FIELD OF THE INVENTION The tube blank with barrier element is applicable in the production of tubes.
PRIOR ART Most non-metallic tubes have heads of polymeric material. An additional element of the multi-barrier laminate film with at least one layer with good barrier properties is used to prevent the inherent permeability to gases and liquids for most of these materials. This barrier element is embedded or attached to the head of the tube blank with barrier element [US3565293].
The main drawback for the majority of solutions of those tube blanks with the barrier element is that the opening from which the product will be removed from the tube remains unprotected.
Another drawback is that, in the variants with protection of the opening, the barrier element is difficult to remove before use.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The objective of the present invention is to create a tube blank with barrier element, having complete protection in the area of the opening for removal of the product and the possibility for easy release of the opening before use.
This objective is achieved by creating a tube blank with a barrier element comprising a base blank having a head with a head opening. The barrier element made from a multilayer film laminate is welded on the inner side of the head. The lower part of the barrier element has an opening below the center of the head opening. On the upper surface of the lower part of the barrier element above the opening is attached an upper part of the barrier element having an outer contour similar in shape but increased in size related to the opening of the lower part of the barrier element. The barrier element continues in an elongated pulling element with a length greater than the length of the head opening and located in the head opening.
It is possible the elongated pulling element to be an additional element, attached to the barrier element.
DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
In more detail, the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, wherein:
Fig. 1 is a sectional view of the head of the tube blank with attached barrier element;
Fig. 2 is the upper part of the barrier element with an elongated portion for removal before use;
Fig. 3 is the upper part of the barrier element with an additional element for removal before use;
Fig. 4 is the whole barrier element (lower and upper part).
EXAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION AND OPERATION OF THE
INVENTION
The tube blank with barrier element comprises a base blank 6 with a head 5 and the head 5 has a head opening 7. On the inner side of the head 5 is welded a barrier element 8 from multilayer laminated foil. The barrier element 8 in its lower part 1 has an opening 2 below the center of the head opening 7. On the upper surface of the lower part 1 of the barrier element 8, above the opening 2 is attached an upper part 3 of the barrier element 8. The upper part 3 has an outer contour similar in shape but with an increased size compared to the opening 2 of the lower part 1 of the barrier element 8. The upper part 3 of the barrier element 8 continues in elongated pulling element 4 with a length greater than the length of the head opening 7 and located in the head opening 7.
It is possible the elongated pulling element 4 to be an additional element, attached to the upper part 3 of the barrier element 8.
When the tube blank with barrier element 8 is filled and has an outer cover (not shown in the figures) which closes the head opening 7, the elongated pulling element 4 is in the head opening 7 and is retained there (not shown in the figures).
Before use of the product in the tube, the user grabs the elongated pulling element 4 on its protruding end and pulls. Thus the upper part 3 is separated and removed from the lower part 1 of the barrier element 8, the opening 2 in the bottom part 1 of the barrier element 8 is released, and the product can be expelled from the tube.
The elongated pulling element 4 can be pulled out at an angle. This leverage effect allows opening 2 for product expulsion to be released easier by the user.
