Abstract

This audio reproduction system is provided with a plurality of audio output devices, a control device that outputs audio signals to said audio output devices, and a transmission device that transmits a broadcast signal to the audio output devices in response to given user input. The control device has a first control unit that outputs an audio signal to each of the audio output devices upon input requesting the reproduction of said audio signal. Each of the audio output devices has a counter that outputs a count value, a reception unit that receives the abovementioned broadcast signal, an audio output unit that reproduces the audio signal, and a second control unit that outputs a notification signal to the control device when that reception unit receives the broadcast signal. Upon receiving said notification signal, the first control unit adds, to that audio signal, length-of-time information indicating a prescribed length of time. Upon receiving an audio signal with said length-of-time information added, each second control unit makes the corresponding audio output unit reproduce the audio signal when said second control unit has ascertained, using the count value from the corresponding counter, that the amount of time indicated by the length-of-time information has elapsed since the broadcast signal was received.

FIG. 2 is a diagram showing operations of the control device 110 and the projectors 120-1 and 120-2 shown in FIG. 1 in time series. In the following, the operation of each device relating to audio reproduction will be described.
When the control device 110 generates the audio signal for the right channel and the left channel, it outputs the audio signal for the right channel to the projector 120-1 at time t1, and then outputs the audio signal for the left channel to the projector at time t2. Output to 120-2.
At time t3, a right channel audio signal is input to the projector 120-1, and at time t4, a left channel audio signal is input to the projector 120-2. When an audio signal is input, the projectors 120-1 and 120-2 reproduce the audio signal after a predetermined time L has elapsed for buffering. Accordingly, the projector 120-1 starts to reproduce the audio signal for the right channel at time t5 when the predetermined time L has elapsed from time t3. In addition, the projector 120-2 starts reproducing the audio signal for the left channel at time t6 when the predetermined time L has elapsed from time t4.
Here, as shown in FIG. 2, there is a difference in the output time of the audio signal between the projector 120-1 and the projector 120-2. In addition, due to a difference in the network path through which the audio signal is transmitted, the transmission time tR of the audio signal from the control device 110 to the projector 120-1 and the transmission time tL of the audio signal from the control device 110 to the projector 120-2. Differences can occur.
Due to the difference in the output time of the audio signal to the projectors 120-1 and 120-2 and the difference in the transmission time of the audio signal, as shown in FIG. There is a problem that the reproduction timing is shifted.
As a method for preventing the deviation of the reproduction timing of the audio signal between the projectors, there is a method in which an RTC (Real Time Clock) circuit is provided in each projector and the time for starting the reproduction of the audio signal is designated. However, in this method, since the RTC circuit is provided, the cost increases.
Note that a projector is usually provided with a system counter that outputs a count value counted by a system clock with a constant frequency. However, since the count value of the system counter is initialized when the projector is started, The count value is also different at different timings. Therefore, even if only the count value of the system counter is used, it is difficult to prevent a deviation in the reproduction timing of the audio signal between the projectors.
An object of the present invention is to provide an audio reproduction system, an audio output device, a control device, and an audio reproduction method that can suppress a deviation in reproduction timing of audio signals among a plurality of audio output devices.

FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a configuration of the audio reproduction system 10 according to the embodiment of the present invention.
The audio reproduction system 10 shown in FIG. 3 includes a control device 11, projectors 12-1 and 12-2, and a remote controller 13. The projectors 12-1 and 12-2 are examples of audio output devices, and the remote controller 13 is an example of a transmission device.
The control device 11 is connected to the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 via a wired or wireless network 20.
When a request to reproduce at least one of a video signal and an audio signal is input, the control device 11 sends the video signal and audio signal requested to be reproduced to the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 via the network 20. input. A specific example of the control device 11 is a computer.
Each of the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 projects the video signal input from the control device 11, and reproduces the audio signal input from the control device 11. Here, the projector 12-1 is disposed on the right side of the viewer 1, and the projector 12-2 is disposed on the left side of the viewer 1. Hereinafter, when the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 are not distinguished, they are referred to as the projector 12.
The remote controller 13 transmits a remote control signal to the projectors 12-1 and 12-2, for example, according to the operation input of the viewer 1. For example, the remote controller 13 transmits a remote control signal by infrared light.

The control device 11 shown in FIG. The control unit 41 is an example of a first control unit.
When the control unit 41 inputs a request to reproduce at least one of the video signal and the audio signal, the control unit 41 outputs the signal requested to be reproduced to each projector 12 via the network 20. The projector 12 shown in FIG. 5 includes a receiving unit 51, a projecting unit 52, an audio output unit 53, a system counter 54, and a control unit 55. The control unit 55 is an example of a second control unit.

The projection unit 52 reproduces the video signal, that is, projects the video indicated by the video signal, under the control of the control unit 55. Although omitted from FIG. 5, the projection unit 52 projects a light source, a modulation element that modulates light emitted from the light source according to a video signal and outputs video light, and enlarges and projects the video light. It has a lens.
The audio output unit 53 reproduces an audio signal under the control of the control unit 55, that is, outputs the audio indicated by the audio signal.

When the audio signal is input via the network 20, the control unit 55 outputs the audio signal to the audio output unit 53. To play.
Next, the configuration of the remote controller 13 will be described with reference to FIG.
6 includes a control unit 61 and a transmission unit 62. The remote controller 13 illustrated in FIG.
The control unit 61 causes the transmission unit 62 to transmit a remote control signal when a predetermined operation input is performed.
The transmission unit 62 transmits a remote control signal to the projector 12 under the control of the control unit 61. Here, it is assumed that projectors 12-1 and 12-2 are included in the range in which transmitter 62 can transmit the remote control signal.
Next, operations of the control device 11, the projector 12, and the remote controller 13 will be described. Since the present invention mainly relates to audio reproduction, the following description will focus on the operation of each device relating to audio reproduction.
First, an overview of the control device 11, the projector 12, and the remote controller 13 will be described.
The remote controller 13 transmits a remote control signal when a predetermined operation input is performed. Here, as described above, the range in which the remote control signal can be transmitted includes the projectors 12-1 and 12-2. Therefore, the remote control signal is received by the projectors 12-1 and 12-2, respectively. Hereinafter, a remote control signal transmitted in response to a predetermined operation input is referred to as a broadcast signal.
When the broadcast signal is received, the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 use the time when the broadcast signal is received as the reference time. Here, since the broadcast signals are received almost simultaneously by the projectors 12-1 and 12-2, the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 can be synchronized by using the broadcast signal reception time as a reference time. it can.
Also, the control device 11 adds time information indicating a predetermined time to the audio signal and outputs it to the projector 12. When an audio signal to which time information is added is input, the projector 12 reproduces the audio signal after a predetermined time indicated by the time information has elapsed from the reference time.
The reference times of the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 are the same, and the audio signal is reproduced after a predetermined time has elapsed from the reference time. Playback timing can be synchronized.
Hereinafter, the operation of each device will be described in more detail by taking as an example the case of outputting audio in stereo.
As described above, the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 are not provided with an RTC circuit or the like, and the time cannot be specified. Therefore, in the present embodiment, the count value of the system counter 54 is used as a substitute for time. That is, the count value of the system counter 54 at a certain time becomes information indicating the time at that time, and the count number of the system counter 54 becomes information indicating the time. Note that the count value differs for each projector when the projector activation timing is different, but when the count value is used as the reference time, the count value as the reference time is set for each projector, so the count value as the reference time is It may be different for each projector.
FIG. 7 is a diagram showing the operations of the control device 11 and the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 before transmission of the broadcast signal in time series. The operation of the control device 11 is mainly controlled by the control unit 41, and the operation of the audio output device 12 is mainly controlled by the control unit 55. Therefore, the operation of the control unit 41 and the control unit 55 will be mainly described below. explain.
When the control device 11 is instructed to request the reproduction of the audio signal, the control unit 41 captures the audio to be reproduced at regular intervals, and generates the audio signal for the right channel and the left channel. In FIG. 7, the control unit 41 performs capture (n−1) at time t71 to generate a right channel audio signal DR (n−1) and a left channel audio signal DL (n−1). Shall be.
The control unit 41 outputs the audio signal DR (n-1) to the projector 12-1 at time t72, and outputs the audio signal DL (n-1) to the projector 12-2 at time t73. Further, the control unit 41 stores the output time when the audio signal DR (n−1) and the audio signal DL (n−1) are output to each projector 12. When the controller 11 is provided with the RTC circuit, the control unit 41 stores the time output from the RTC circuit at the time when the audio signal is output as the output time when the audio signal is output. When the control device 11 is not provided with an RTC circuit, the control unit 41 outputs a sound signal with a count value of a system counter provided in the control device 11 (not shown in FIG. 4). Store as output time. The system counter provided in the control device 11 may be the same type as the system counter provided in the projector 12 and calculates information indicating time and time from the count value and the count number. However, the frequency of the system clock need not be the same as the frequency of the system clock of the projector 12.
When the audio signal DR (n-1) is input to the projector 12-1 at time t74, the control unit 55 of the projector 12-1 receives that indicates that the reception of the audio signal DR (n-1) is completed. A completion signal CR (n−1) is output to the control device 11. Here, the control unit 55 stores the arrival time of the audio signal DR (n−1), that is, the count value of the system counter 54 when the audio signal DR (n−1) is input, and serves as information indicating the arrival time. It is added to the reception completion signal CR (n-1).
When the reception completion signal CR (n−1) is input to the control device 11 at time t75, the control unit 41 stores the input time of the reception completion signal CR (n−1).
When the audio signal DL (n−1) is input to the projector 12-2 at time t76, the control unit 55 of the projector 12-2 receives that indicates that the reception of the audio signal DL (n−1) is completed. The completion signal CL (n−1) is output to the control device 11. Here, the control unit 55 stores the arrival time of the audio signal DL (n−1), that is, the count value of the system counter 54 when the audio signal DL (n−1) is input, and serves as information indicating the arrival time. It is added to the reception completion signal CL (n-1).
When the reception completion signal CL (n−1) is input to the control device 11 at time t77, the control unit 41 stores the input time of the reception completion signal CL (n−1). Further, the control unit 41 determines the projector 12 based on the arrival time of the audio signal to each projector 12 indicated by the information added to the reception completion signal CR (n−1) and the reception completion signal CL (n−1). Measure the signal transmission state between
Specifically, the control unit 41 calculates communication jitter and round trip time (RTT: Round Trip Time). Here, the communication jitter is a fluctuation in the time required to reach the projector 12 after the audio signal is output. RTT is the time required from when the control device 11 outputs an audio signal until reception completion data is input. In the present embodiment, for the sake of convenience, the control unit 41 uses the absolute value of the difference between the arrival time of the current audio signal and the arrival time of the immediately preceding audio signal and the audio capture interval as communication jitter. Shall. That is, the control unit 41 calculates communication jitter using the following equation (1).
Communication jitter = | (current audio signal arrival time-previous audio signal arrival time)-audio capture interval | ... (1)
As described above, the information indicating the arrival time added to the reception completion signal is indicated by a count value. The control unit 41 is preliminarily input with the count interval of the system counter 54, and the count value shown in the information added to the reception completion signal for the current audio signal and the reception completion signal for the immediately previous audio data By multiplying the difference between the count value indicated by the added information and the count interval of the system counter 54, the interval between the arrival time of the current audio signal and the arrival time of the immediately preceding audio signal can be calculated. Although the count interval of the system counter 54 is input in advance to the control unit 41, the count interval may be added to the reception completion signal and transmitted. Further, the frequency of the system clock of the system counter 54 may be used instead of the count interval, and any information that can calculate the interval between the arrival time of the current audio signal and the arrival time of the immediately preceding audio signal from the count value may be used.
Further, the control unit 41 calculates the difference between the output time of the audio data and the input time of the reception completion signal for the audio data as RTT. That is, the control unit 41 calculates RTT using the following equation (2).
 RTT = 受信完了信号の入力時刻 - 音声信号の出力時刻・・・式(2)
RTT = input time of reception completion signal−output time of audio signal (2)
Further, the control unit 41 calculates an average value of the past n RTTs.
The control unit 41 calculates communication jitter, RTT, and an average value thereof for each of the projectors 12-1 and 12-2. Note that the reception completion signal includes information for identifying each projector.
When a predetermined time has elapsed since the capture (n-1) was performed, the control unit 41 performs capture (n) at time t78. Thereafter, in the same manner, an audio signal and a reception completion signal are input / output between the control device 11 and the projector 12.
In FIG. 7, after the reception completion signal CR (n−1) for the audio signal DR (n−1) is input to the control device 11, the audio signal DL (n−1) is input to the projector 12-2. However, the signal input / output order may vary depending on the network route.
FIG. 8 is a diagram showing the operation of the control device 11 and the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 at the time of transmission of the broadcast signal in time series.
At time t81, when a predetermined operation input is performed on the remote controller 13, the control unit 61 causes the transmission unit 62 to transmit a broadcast signal to the projectors 12-1 and 12-2. As described above, since the broadcast signal is transmitted by infrared light from the transmission unit 62, the time at which the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 receive the broadcast signal is substantially the same.
When the receiving unit 51 of each projector 12 receives the broadcast signal at time t82, the control unit 55 of each projector 12 receives the time at which the receiving unit 51 receives the broadcast signal as a reference time (hereinafter referred to as PJ reference time). ). Here, as described above, the time at which the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 receive the broadcast signal is substantially the same, so the PJ reference time of each projector 12 is substantially the same. Therefore, the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 are in a synchronized state.
The control unit 55 outputs a notification signal indicating that the broadcast signal has been received to the control device 11. The notification signal includes information for identifying each projector.
When a notification signal is input from each projector 12 to the control device 11, the control unit 41 stores the time when the notification signal is input from each projector 12. In addition, the control unit 41 temporarily stops the capture. The audio signal output is also stopped by the pause of the capture.
When notification signals are input from all the projectors 12, based on the average RTT value (RTT L ) of the projector 12 having the largest average RTT value and the time when the notification signal is input from the projector 12, Is used to calculate a reference time in the control device 11 (hereinafter referred to as a PC reference time).
PC reference time = notification signal input time-average value of RTT (3)
Further, the control unit 41 calculates the buffering time of the audio signal for absorbing communication jitter in each projector 12 using the following equation (4).
Buffering time = capture interval × K + communication jitter × L (4)
In Equation (4), K and L are constants determined according to the network environment. In general, when the network 200 is a wireless LAN, the communication jitter is larger than when the network 200 is a wired LAN, so the buffering time becomes longer.
Next, when the control unit 41 resumes the capture and generates the audio signal by the capture, the playback reservation time is calculated from the capture time at which the capture was performed using the following equation (5).
Playback reservation time = (Capture time-PC reference time) + Buffering time (5)
As shown in Expression (5), the control unit 41 calculates a playback reservation time as a relative time from the PC reference time.
When the playback reservation time is calculated, the control unit 41 adds time information indicating the calculated playback reservation time to the audio signal output to each projector 12 and outputs it to each projector 12. In FIG. 8, the control unit 41 outputs the audio signal DR (0) to the projector 12-1 at time t83, and outputs the audio signal DL (0) after outputting the audio signal DR (0). Is output.
When an audio signal to which time information is added is input to each projector 12, the control unit 55 of each projector 12 causes the control device 11 to output a reception completion signal. Further, the control unit 55 calculates the reproduction time of the audio signal using the following equation (6), and buffers the audio signal until the calculated reproduction time.
Playback time = PJ reference time + Playback reservation time ... Equation (6)
When the control unit 55 confirms that the playback reservation time has elapsed from the PJ reference time and has reached the playback time based on the count value of the system counter at time t84, the control unit 55 inputs the audio signal to the playback queue, and outputs the audio output unit 53. To play sequentially. Therefore, the projector 12-1 sequentially reproduces from the audio signal DR (0), and the projector 12-2 sequentially reproduces from the audio signal DL (0). As described above, since the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 are synchronized, the reproduction timings of the audio signal DR (0) and the audio signal DL (0) match, and the audio can be output in stereo. .
When the audio signal is input past the reproduction time, the control unit 55 inputs the audio signal as it is to the reproduction queue and sequentially reproduces it.
Here, the relationship between the PC reference time and the PJ reference time will be described. In the present embodiment, the PC reference time is set to a time before the PJ reference time by using Expression (3). That is, the RTT corresponds to the time from when the audio signal is output until the reception completion signal is input. Therefore, the time obtained by subtracting the RTT time from the input time of the notification signal is less than the PJ reference time. The time before the audio signal is output from the control device 11 and input to the projector 12 is approximately the same time as the previous time. As described above, by setting the PC reference time to a time before the PJ reference time, the operation corresponds to the time required for transmission until the audio signal is output from the control device 11 and input to the projector 12. Thus, the projector 12 can receive a predetermined audio signal within the reserved playback time. For example, in the formula (4), even when the buffering time and the capture interval are set to be approximately equal, it is possible to reproduce the sound normally. When a sufficient buffering time can be secured, the transmission time from the control device 11 to the projector 12 and the transmission time from the projector 12 to the control device 11 are substantially equal, and the expression (3) In this case, the PC reference time and the PJ reference time may be set as substantially the same time by using a value obtained by multiplying (average value of RTT) by (1/2) instead of (average value of RTT).
Thus, according to the present embodiment, the projector 12 receives the broadcast signal transmitted from the remote controller 13, and sets the time when the broadcast signal is received as the reference time. In addition, the control device 11 calculates a predetermined time for buffering the audio signal based on the transmission state of the signal with each projector 12, and outputs the audio signal to which the time information indicating the predetermined time is added to each projector. 12 is output. In addition, when an audio signal to which time information is added is input to each projector 12, when it is confirmed by a count value of the system counter 54 that a predetermined time indicated in the time information has elapsed from the reference time, Play an audio signal.
By using the broadcast signal reception time as the reference time, the projectors 12-1 and 12-2 can be synchronized without using an RTC circuit or the like. Also, by reproducing the audio signal after a predetermined time has elapsed from the reference time, the audio reproduction timing of each projector 12 is synchronized without being affected by the difference in network path with each projector 12 or communication jitter. be able to.
In the present embodiment, the number of projectors 12 is two, and projectors 12-1 and 12-2 are provided corresponding to the audio signals for the right channel and the left channel, respectively. Although an example in which an audio signal is reproduced by each projector has been described, the present invention is not limited to this. Regarding the audio signals of three or more channels, three or more projectors may be provided corresponding to the audio signals of each channel, and each projector 12 may reproduce only the audio signals of the corresponding channels. By doing so, it is possible to output a multi-channel audio signal in a surround manner.
In the above-described embodiment, the control device 11 is described using an example in which the audio signal is separated for the right channel and the left channel. However, the present invention is not limited to this. The control device 11 may output audio signals of a plurality of channels to each projector 12, and each projector 12 may separately reproduce the audio signals of channels corresponding to the own device.
In the embodiment described above, the control device 11 outputs an audio signal to each projector 12, and each projector 12 outputs a reception completion signal for the audio signal to the control device 11. However, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, communication jitter and RTT may be measured by inputting and outputting predetermined signals while a notification signal is input to the control device 11 and capture is temporarily stopped.
As mentioned above, although this invention was demonstrated with reference to embodiment, this invention is not limited to the said embodiment. Various changes that can be understood by those skilled in the art can be made to the configuration and details of the present invention within the scope of the present invention.
