Description

EXTRACTOR Y MÉTODO DE EXTRACCIÓN DE CABEZAS DE INSTRUMENTOS DE MEDIDAS HIDROLÓGICAS  EXTRACTOR AND METHOD OF EXTRACTION OF HEADS FROM INSTRUMENTS OF HYDROLOGICAL MEASURES
The present invention is framed within the extractors that allow the opening of hydrological measurement instruments. Specifically, the present extractor is specially designed to allow opening oceanographic instruments.
State of the prior art At present, the use of oceanographic instruments for the measurement, for example, of the conductivity of water (from which salinity is obtained) or of the temperature itself, is widely extended. For this, different hydrological sensors are used, which are normally mounted on hydrological measuring instruments that consist of a cylindrical and sealed body that guarantees the safety of electronic components and power batteries housed inside, which are necessary for a correct operation of the instrument. The replacement of the batteries, as well as the cleaning and routine maintenance of the internal part of the instrument, provide for the opening of the head of the instrument, being appropriate to ensure the tightness in said head.
The tightness in the head of the instrument is guaranteed by the use of o-rings. This fact, together with the cylindrical shape of the instrument and its normally polished surface, makes opening operations complex and dangerous, both for the instrument and for the personnel handling it. Therefore, in the most commonly used hydrological measurement instruments, the combination of the requirement of tightness with the external shape of the instrument itself, causes that the opening operations of the instruments can result in damage to the instrument, both due to its external part, such as the rupture of the O-rings or that damage to the sensors is caused due to a sharp opening of the same.
In the state of the art there is no known device that allows the head part of this type of sensors to be extracted in a totally safe and reliable way. Thus, the need arises to design an extractor that allows opening said instrument heads easily and safely, without risks to both the hydrological measurement equipment and the personnel handling said equipment or instrument.
Description of the invention The present invention proposes an instrument head extractor of hydrological measurements that allows an optimal, simple and risk-free extraction, both by the users involved and for the instrument itself.
The extractor of the present invention comprises two components. A first component has the same diameter as the head of the instrument to be removed, and a second component, which has a diameter greater than that of the first component and has a perforation suitable for a fixing element to pass through the second component when it is slide over the first during the assembly of the extractor. The first component is housed by the second component when the extractor is mounted. The logical sequence of extraction includes the placement and fixation of the first component on the head of the instrument to be extracted, the placement of the second component housing the first and its fixation both to said first component and, by means of fixing means, to the body of the instrument whose head you want to remove.
The coupling between the two components of the extractor is carried out by means of a fixing element integral with the first component and which passes through the second component when it suitably slides over the first component. Once the two components are assembled, the same operation of screwing a perforated element in the aforementioned fixing element, allows to exert a uniform force, in the direction of removal of the head, and aligned with the same axis of the instrument. The removal of the head is, therefore, an extremely easy and quick operation.

Said upper part (3) also comprises two through holes (5) that correspond to fixing elements (10) of the second component (7) once said second component (7) slides superiorly to accommodate the first component (1) ), the first (1) and second component (7) being subsequently fixed together by means of a screw (13), in which a nut (14) is screwed.
The second component (7), upper, of the extractor consists of a lower clamp (8) and an upper part (9) joined together by means of fixing and reinforcement elements (12).
In both the lower part (2) and the upper part (3) of the first component (1) of the extractor there are three through holes (6) that allow the passage of a plurality of screws for fixing the first component (1) with the head (15) of the instrument. The second component (7) slides superiorly over the first component (1) of the extractor, matching the screw (13), integral and previously fixed to said first component (1), with the hole (11) present in the second component (7). Likewise, the fixing elements (10) of the second component (7) coincide with the through holes (5) of the first component (1). On the other hand, the second component (7) of the extractor is fixed by means of the lower clamp (8) to the body (16) of the instrument to thus allow the opening of the head (15) of said instrument, so that, once assembled and when the extractor is fixed, the opening and removal of the head (15) of the instrument gradually occurs as the nut (14) is screwed.
The extractor is completely removable since the first component (1) and the second component (7) can be separated when it is not being used, for example, to facilitate its transport or for cleaning. In addition to not having welds between both components reduces the possible oxidation of the same.
