Description

A METHOD AND A DEVICE FOR PLACING OVER THE SCREEN OF A PORTABLE DEVICE A LAYER OF PROTECTIVE FOIL
The subject of the invention is a method of placing a layer of protective foil over the screen of a portable ICT device, in particular a telephone. The subject of the invention is also a device for placing a layer of protective foil over the screen of a portable ICT device and a matching overlay with foil for placing the foil over the screen of a portable ICT device, in particular a telephone.
Telephone screens made of tough sapphire glass, which is resistant to scratches, are used only in exceptions, as they are fragile, they break when they fall and they are expensive. Typically the top layer of a phone screen is made of transparent plastic, in particular of geopolymers or more popular these days, alkali- aluminosilicate glass, Gorilla Glass included, which is resistant to scratching and damage caused by hitting. The surface of a screen is secured by the producer with foil. However, the foil gets scratched during use and loses its transparency so it is removed by the user. This original foil may be replaced by the user with protective foil, different for each model of a phone, through sticking the foil to the screen, after adjusting the edges of the protective foil to the edges of the screen. When the foil is stuck on by hand and the edges of the foil are not even with the edges of the screen as they have been shifted slightly or turned, dirt will collect in such places and the foil will start separating from the screen.
In the latest phones, there are microphone/speaker holes in the flat surface of the screen, which the foil also needs to have so it does not muffle sound.
The purpose of the invention is developing a method of placing protective foil precisely on the screen, with use of an all-in-one device, appropriate for different phone models and developing a an overlay for foil for the use of this method with the device.
The essence of this invention, according to the method of placing a layer of protective foil on the screen, is to push the two edges of the device to the stoppers placed in the outline of the angle plate equipped with pins, to place the overlay with the protective foil on these pins, to remove the protective layer by normal means and to press the foil to the screen. There is also an option of pressing at least one stopping edge to the opposite side of the device, after two sides of the device had been propped against the stoppers.
A device for placing a layer of protective foil over the screen according to the invention has stoppers placed in the outlay of the angle plate and at least two pins placed along the axis parallel to one of the arms of the angle plate outlay. The stoppers are connected with the base, which preferably has deformable coating and/or anti-slip coating. There is at least one stopping edge fastened to the base through the hole. Preferable the stopping edge is a slider. Preferable the stopping edge has pin II. On at least one pin there is an extension arm with a suction cup slid on. Optionally, the extension arm is in the form of a bar with a suction cup. Optionally, the pin is in the form of a pivot fixed in the recess of the base or/and the stopper.
According to the invention, the overlay for placing foil has holes at at least one side edge of the protective layer, which in their shape and position reflect the cross- section and the position of the pins of the device, by means of which it is placed. The method allows for easy and precise placement of foil over screens of ICT devices.
The invention was shown in the drawing where Fig. 1 shows an angled view of the device, where stoppers are placed in the outline of the angle plate and two pins are placed in one of the arms of the outlay of the angle plate. Fig. 2 shows the device with a base. Fig. 3 shows the device where pins integrated with the stoppers are connected to the base. Fig. 4 shows the device with anti-skid layer, Fig. 5 shows the device with a wheel-shaped base, Fig. 6 shows the device with a greater number of stoppers in the outlay of the angle plate, Fig. 7 shows the device with an extra slider for the shorter edge of the telephone, Fig. 8 shows the device with a slider for the longer side of the telephone, Fig. 9 shows the device with sliders for the shorter and longer sides of the telephone, Fig. 10 shows the device with pins parallel to the stopper, Fig. 11 shows the phone placed on the base, under the overlay slid on the pins, Fig. 12 shows the overlay being fastened with the pins to the stopper, Fig. 13 shows the device with the overlay slid on the pins, ready for the ICT device to be placed on it, Fig. 14 shows the device with the telephone placed on the base, under the foil, which is held by the suction cup attached to the extension arm, Fig. 15 - shows the device with a bar with a suction cup, Fig. 16 shows the device with the telephone placed on the base, under the foil, held by the suction cup fastened to the bar.
The method of placing a layer of protective foil over the screen of a portable ICT device, in particular a phone, which is to place the device, adjust the position of the foil with a protective layer to the screen of the device, remove the layer securing the protective foil and push the protective foil to the surface of the screen, characterized by the two edges of the devise being pressed against the stoppers placed in the outlay of the angle plate with pins, the overlay with foil and a securing layer being slid on the pins through the holes, the securing layer being removed by normal means and the foil being pressed against the screen. After two sides of the device had been pressed against the stoppers, at least one edge is tightened to the opposite edge of the device.
The device for placing a layer of protective foil on the screen of a portable ICT device, in particular a phone has stoppers 2 placed in the outlay of the angle plate L and at least two pins 3 placed along an axis Ko parallel to one of the arms Ki, K2 of the outlay of angle plate L. The stoppers 2 are connected to the base 1, which makes the construction more rigid. The base 1 has a coating 4 which distorts, for example over a protruding element such as casing of a camera lens, opposite to the screen Aw or/and it has an anti-skid coating which facilitates keeping appropriate position of the ICT device to be protected. The shape of the base is not important and it is usually slightly bigger than the device to be protected, on whose screen the protective foil is placed.
To prevent displacement of the ICT device, at least one stopping edge 5 is attached through the hole 6 to the base 1. The stopping edge 5 is usually a slider 50 which is pressed to the side opposite to the edge which adjoins the stoppers 2.
In some models produced, the stop edge 50 has a pin II 30.
A device with a suction cup 8 is used for placing an overlay 10 with no holes 12 on the screen Aw, where the suction cup 8 is attached to the foil 10a. after the overlay 10 has been placed properly against the device A and the suction cup 8 is pressed to the foil 10a. The suction cup 8 is attached to the extension arm 7 which is slid on the pin 3. Optionally, the extension arm 7 is in the form of a bar 17. After the extension arm 7 or a bar 17 have been lifted up with use of the suction cup 8, to which the overlay 10 is attached through the external surface of the foil 10a. so it maintains its position against the device and the screen Aw. the securing layer 10b is removed, the extension arm 7 is dropped so the foil 10a touches the screen Aw and the contact surfaces are pushed together in such a way so as to avoid air bubbles under the foil.
It is also possible for the device to have the pin 3 in the form of a pivot 9 fixed in the recess 14 of the base 1 or/and the stopper 2. The overlay 10 is fastened to the device through pivots 9 instead of the overlay 10 being slid on the pins 3 as presented above. This solution was shown in Fig. 12.
The overlay 10 with the foil 10a for screens Aw of a portable ICT device A, in particular a phone, has a securing layer 10b which outlay is bigger than the outlay of the foil 10a. There are different shapes of foil 10a for different screens Aw of device A secured. At one side edge 11a or lib of the securing layer 10b there are holes 12 whose shapes and position reflect the cross-section and the position of pins 3 of the device.
Different embodiments of the invention are presented below.
