DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
As shown in Figures 1 to 5, the present invention provides a lollipop stick 10 which splits and is made of a flexible bendable material 12 in combination with a compact lollipop ring holder 30 for supporting the lollipop stick 10 during use, and for storing it in the ring holder 30 during storage. The lollipop stick 10 has a dividable end 14 and a candy retention end 16, wherein the major portion of the stick 10 is dividable into two elongated halves 18 and 20 by insertion into the compact lollipop ring holder 30 which bends the stick halves for reduction in size for storage. The ring holder 30 is provided with a separation device 32. causing separation of the two elongated halves 18 and 20, and for bending the halves by at least 180 degrees during the insertion operation for storage. This results from contact with the inner walls 34 of the ring holder 30.
The ring holder 30 has a circular hollow ring section 42 with circular inner walls 34 for guiding and bending the elongated halves 18 and 20 along the walls when the lollipop stick is being inserted into the ring section 42 for storage. The ring holder 30 is also provided with a separation device 32, which causes the separation of the elongated lollipop into stick halves 18 and 20, and the bending of the halves by at least 180 degrees is caused by the inner walls 34 of the ring holder 30 during the insertion operation. This results from contact with the inner walls 34 of the ring holder 30, as shown in figure 1.
The candy 50 is firmly attached to the candy retention end 16, wherein the stick 10 is retained in the divided and bent configuration for storage, when it is in the hollow ring section 42. The ring holder 30 is also provided with a reunification device 60, whereby on opening of the ring holder 30 and withdrawal of the stick halves and candy 50, then the two elongated stick halves 18 and 20 pass through the reunification device 60 and are firmly rejoined to thereby form a substantially straight rigid stick 10 for supporting the candy 50 during consumption.
Figure 5 is a front view of the lollipop ring holder 30 in combination with a lollipop cover 70 for storage of the lollipop stick, shown in the open configuration, with the 2 legs of the lollipop stick closed and ready for insertion into the ring holder 30. The cover 70 is shown in the open configuration. After insertion of the lollipop stick 10 and candy 50 into the cover 70, the top 72 of the cover 70 is closed for storage,
Figure 6 is a perspective view of the lollipop ring holder 30 showing the lollipop stick inserted into the ring for storage , and mounted thereon for use and consumption.
Figure 7 shows a perspective view of the lollipop and ring holder 30 being inserted into a two-part case 80 for storage. The case 80 has a lower section 82 for receiving the ring holder 30, and an upper cover section 84 which closes the case 80 for storage of the ring holder 30.
Figure 8 shows the divided stick 10 having stick halves 18 and 20.
Figure 9 shows a perspective view of the two sections of the lollipop stick 10 being inserted along the walls 104 and 106 of a circular case 100 for storage of the lollipop stick 10, and also shows the separating device 102 on the bottom of the case 100. SECOND EMBODIMENT
As shown in Figures 10 to 16, the present invention also discloses another embodiment, including a capsule 100 having a bottom section 102 and an upper cover section 104, wherein bottom section 102 includes a separating device 1 10, having two separating sections 1 12 and 1 14, and a center opening 1 16 for receiving the lollipop stick 120.
As shown in Figures 10 to 12, as the lollipop stick 120 is inserted in the center opening 1 16, the lollipop stick 120 is divided into two stick halves 122 and 124, wherein stick half 122 is received within separating section 1 12, and wherein stick half 124 is received within separating section 1 14. The cover 104 can then be placed over bottom section 102 to close capsule 100.
As shown in Figures 13 to 15, there is a ring holder 130 having the ring section 132, the fiat section 134, and the hole 136 for receiving and holding the lollipop stick 120. Ring holder 130 is then placed within capsule 100, and it is placed sideways so the ring section 132 may surround stick 120, as shown in Figures 14 and 15.
THIRD EMBODIMENT
As shown in Figures 17 to 20, the present invention also discloses another embodiment including a lollipop holder 200 having a capsule 202 for holding a lollipop and stick 210. The capsule 202 has a bottom section 204 and a cover section 206, for receiving the lollipop and stick 210.
The lollipop holder 200 also includes a semi-circular shaped support member 220 which is slidably connected to two actuating members 222 and 224 which move relative to support member 220. As shown in Figure 18, the opposite side 230 of support member 220 includes channels 232 and 234 for receiving lollipop stick halves 212 and 214. Support member 220 also includes a divider for separating the lollipop stick 210 into the stick halves 212 and 214.
As shown in Figures 18 and 19, the actuating members 222 and 224 are pivotally mounted on pins 226 and 228 for moving the actuating members 222 and 224 to the left or right. The actuating members 222 and 224 also have finger receiving holes 236 and 238 for receiving fingers of the operator or user to actuate the members 222 and 224 to the left or right to raise or lower the lollipop stick 210. As shown in Figure 20, the lollipop stick 210 has been raised upwardly and the stick halves 212 and 214 have been moved out of the channels 232 and 234, and the stick halves 212 and 214 have been reunited into an integral stick 210.
In this manner, the lollipop and stick 210 can be stored in capsule 202, or they can be moved upwardly and out of the lower capsule section 204. OPERATION OF THE PRESENT INVENTION
In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a simple way to hold and mount a lollipop stick and lollipop during use, as well as a simple way for separating the lollipop stick into its halves and bending them for storing them in a ring holder or circular case. In this manner, the present invention provides a compact device for easy storage and a simple structure for keeping the lollipop clean during the use and storage operations.
