Abstract
The invention discloses a method of accessing in machine type communication. In one aspect, a threshold, of a user equipment, of downlink channel quality information for an access is a variable threshold (20, 22, 24) where the variable threshold is reduced along with a decreasing of remaining period of time of a transmission delay timer of the user equipment. Based on this aspect the threshold is reduced before the transmission delay timer expires in the case that a channel condition is degraded sustainably, so that the user equipment performs the access before the timer expires to avoid the access under the worst channel condition. In another aspect, the threshold, of the user equipment, of downlink channel quality information for an access depends upon an operation characteristic of the user equipment to improve the pertinence and flexibility of the access of the user equipment so as to optimize the performance.
