Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for creating simulation for surgical procedures and providing web access to these simulations.
- the present invention particularly relates to a method for creating surgery simulation suitable for the actual anatomy, capable of providing tactile sensation and for each patient, capable of being loaded with said patient's imaging data and relates to setting up a website and/or network enabling surgery of said patient to be carried out over the simulation by other surgeons in the Internet environment.
- simulation methods for surgical procedures are available. These methods can be used for educational purposes. However, a simulation method suitable for the actual anatomy, capable of providing tactile sensation and for each patient, capable of being loaded with said patient's imaging data has still not been developed. Additionally, a simulation method separate for each patient and comprising only data of said patient is not available.
- Object of the present invention is to eliminate aforementioned drawbacks and to make improvements in the surgical field by being inspired from the existing situations.
- the main object of the present invention is to realize a simulation method suitable for the actual anatomy, capable of providing tactile sensation arid for each patient, capable of being loaded with individual and patient specific imaging data.
- Another object of the present invention is to make patient specific simulation surgery possible thanks to the method created for each patient. Also, with this simulation surgery, providing consultation services for training purposes as well as for surgical planning is intended thanks to this website.
- Another object of the present invention is to create simulations of surgical models and to realize surgery of the patient with a simulation method by loading imaging data of the patient to these simulations.

- Surgery simulation can be easily performed in the Internet environment using the existing computer hardware.
- process steps of the sylvian dissection (placing clips on the anterior communicating artery) surgery simulation (H) can be provided as an example.
- sample tissue is the brain, model of brain surgery is sylvian dissection;
- C making said modeling with a haptic device capable of providing actual tactile sensation and feedback, i.e., modeling tactile sensation and feedback of the tissues comprised in the modeling with a haptic device (for example, brain membrane (dura), artery, vein, arachnoid membranes, accumulated blood, sensation of blood flow that occurs in case of vascular injury, tactile sensation of cerebrospinal fluid, aneurysm dome hardness, resistance sensation during excluding brain lobes when sylvian fissure is opened with a retractor); D: adding imaging data of the patient to be provided with surgery to the simulation created for said surgery; and
- a haptic device for example, brain membrane (dura), artery, vein, arachnoid membranes, accumulated blood, sensation of blood flow that occurs in case of vascular injury, tactile sensation of cerebrospinal fluid, aneurysm dome hardness, resistance sensation during excluding brain lobes when sylvian fissure is opened with a retractor
- the surgery simulation of the patient is monitored with existing computer systems in the Internet environment over the website and/or network and process steps are carried out for performing the surgery.
