Abstract

The invention relates to a method for controlling access, e.g. controlling delivery, of remotely ordered goods, wherein availability of the good is subject to a restriction condition and the good is to be delivered to a person by a deliverer and wherein a terminal is applied. An image is received of the person (a person image) as registered by the terminal from the terminal in a restriction condition verification system prior to providing access to the good, e.g. prior to delivery of the good, An authorisation signal is issued from the restriction condition verification system to the terminal if from the person image, the person is determined to comply with the restriction condition.

Method and system for controlling access to remotely ordered goods
FIELD OF HE INVENTION
The invention relates a method and system for controlling access to remotely ordered goods that are subject to availability restrictions, In particular, the invention relates to a method and system for controlling access to age-restricted goods that have been ordered online, e.g. over the internet. The invention also relates to a method and system of controlling restriction condition compliance when a person remotely orders a good subject to a restriction condition.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Goods such as toba cco , weapons , adu.11 content , comnton1y referred to as detrimental product, are subject to restrictions as to their availability, e.g. age restrictions or license re- strictions. With the advent of online purchasing via the internet, difficulties have risen ow to manage such restrictions. .Although the goods are finally delivered to the end user, delivery of the goods is normally performed by companies different from the companies from which the goods are ordered. Also, the goods are normaliy packaged such that it is difficult for the delivery company to even be aware of the type of good delivered. For such reasons, it. is not self-evident that the delivery companies see to the compliance with restriction rules.
There exists a need in the art to provide an improved method and system for controlling access to remotely purchased age-restricted goods.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
A method for controlling access to remotely ordered goods, wherein availability of the good is subject to a restriction condition is disclosed. The good may e.g. ave been ordered online (e.g. a web shop) and, after completion of the order, the good is to be delivered to a person by a deliverer. The deliverer may possess a terminal, e.g. a mobile terminal, when delivering the good. Alternatively, the good itself is provided with a terminal,
In order to control access (e.g. to control delivery), the terminal registers a person image from the person to whom the good is to be handed over or who is about to unpack the good and the person image is transmitted to and received by a restriction condition verification system prior to providing
access to the good, e.g. prior to being handed over or prior to unpacking the good. Preferably, the person image is registered and received at. the moment of the actual deliver of the good, e.g. at the door of the premises of the. person. Alternatively, the good is provided with an access prohibition means (e.g. a lock) requiring registration of the person image before access is provided. Registration of the person image may be subject to prior approval by the intended recipient of the good for the registration process. The intended recipient of the good may signal approval by activating the registration means on the ter- minal himself.
At the restriction condition verification system, the person image is received and from the person image it can be determined, preferably by human beings viewing the person image on a display of the restriction condition verification system., whether the access may be provided to the good or not in view of the restriction condition. The restriction condition may relate to the acre of the person, as will be described in further detail below. Alternatively, the restriction condition may relate to the identity of the person. E.g., if the good involves a weap- on, only persons having a license for possessing such a weapon may actually receive the weapon. From the person image, it can be determined at. the restriction condition verification system whether the person to which the weapon is to be delivered possesses such a license, e.g. by comparing the person image to a group of images of persons possessing a license. The comparison process may be assisted by image recognition means to quickly identify persons from the group resembling the person on the person image. Another example involves delivery of a credit card that should only be handed over to the person whose name is registered on the card. Only if the person image registered by the terminal matches a person image of the person whose name is on the card (such an image may have been stored in advance (e.g. at the bank) such that it is accessible for the restriction condition verification system)
Only when it is determined that the restriction condition is met, an authorisation signal is transmitted from the restriction condition verification system to the terminal. The authorisation signal may enable the terminal to complete the delivery process to provide access to the good. Examples of completion, of the delivery process include printing a receipt for the person,, enabling payment for the good via the terminal, enabling signing for receipt of the good on the terminal etc.
Alternatively, if the good is left with access prohibition means by the deliverer, the authorisation signal may disable the access prohibition means (e.g. the lock), such that access is provided to the good.
If the authorisation signal is not received, or an explicit delivery denial signal is received, access to the good is not provided, e.g. because delivery cannot be completed or the package cannot be unlocked, and the deliverer takes the good back, with him or the access prohibition means is not disabled,
In an embodiment, the restriction condition is for example an age-restriction, condition. Goods such as tobacco and alcoholic beverages receive increased attention as to their free availability for the under-aged,
In the embodiment, the good may be associated with an identifier. The identifier may e.g. be an identifier attached to the package of the good or the good itself, e.g. a scannable barcode. Web shops may provide for an identifier indicating an age restriction for a good when providing the good to the deliverer. The identifier may be a bar code/SAN code, a QR code or the like. The identifier may also be part of another (existing) code. The identifier may be provided to the deliverer in digital form or be printed on the package of the good. By registering the identifier via the terminal (and possibly communication with a back office system) , the deliverer is informed via the terminal that age verification is required before the good is handed over to the person. Preferably, the identifier is received at the res riction condition, verification system so that it can be associated with the age-restriction condition. From the received identifier,, the age classification associated with the good to be delivered may e.g. be determined at the restriction condition verification system. Some goods., for example, are available for persons being 16 or older, whereas othe goods are only available for persons being 18 or even 21. Moreover, the identifier can be used for retrieving further information of the good and/or the person that ordered the good as will be described in further detail below.
If the applicable age classification has been determined, it is determined at the restriction condition
verification system from the person image whether or not the intended recipient of the good complies with the age requirement associated with the good.
In an embodiment, the terminal of the deliverer is a mobile terminal providing wireless communication with the restriction condition verification system. Such a terminal is convenient for door-to-door delivery of the goods and to facilitate location independent restriction condition compliance verification .
In some cases, it will not be possible from the person image alone to determine whether or not a person should be authorized to be delivered a restricted good. Therefore, in an embodiment, an identification document request is issued from the restriction condition verification system to the terminal only if the person cannot be determined to comply with e.g. the age restriction. This may e.g. be the case for persons of ages around the age restriction limit. In such cases, the person is invited to present an identification document to register a document image by the terminal, Again, the terminal may be in the possession of the deliverer or be associated with (e.g. attached to) the good for self-service. The document image is received from the terminal at the restriction condition verification sys¬ tem. The document image should contain information from which the age of the person can be determined, either by visual inspection from the document image itself on a display or, indirectly,, by using information from the document to consult an internal or external database from which restriction condition information can be retrieved using the information from the document. For example., the document image may be a passport or a driver license containing information on the elate of birth of the owner from which the age of the owner can be determined.
Preferably, the document image contains a picture of the owner to verify whether the document image relates to a document from the person whose person image was registered before. The authorisation signal is only issued when from the document image (directly or indirectly as explained above) it can be determined whether the person complies with the restriction condition.
It should be noted that the person image and the document image may either be registered by the same or by different registration means on or connected to the terminal .
In order to verify whether the person ordering the re¬ stricted good is the same as the person to whom the good is to be delivered, a person image of the ordering person may be stored such that it is accessible from the restriction condition verification system. This person image may e.g. nave been up- loaded during the ordering procedure of the good or during a registration procedure. The person image may be associated with login credentials such that the person image may be used subsequently without having to upload the person image for each order. Alternatively or in addition, the ordering person may ave uploaded an identification document image.
Once the person image and/or document image of the ordering person is available for the restriction condition
verification system, a verification may be performed whether the stored person image of the person remotely orderi g the qood matches the person image received from the terminal of the deliverer, respectively whether the stored document image matches a document image received from the terminal of the deliverer. The authorisation signal may now be provided to the terminal dependent on whether also at least one of the stored person image matches the received person image and the stored document image matches the received document image.
As described above, the good may be associated with an identifier. In an embodiment, the person image and/or document image is stored in association with the identifier of the good, such that the stored image or document image of the ordering person can be retrieved on the basis of the good identifier.
In an embodiment, a signal identifying a deliverer is transmitted from the terminal such that an image of the deliverer can be displayed at the restriction condition verification system. This enables verification whether the received person image indeed is the image from the person to which the good is to be deli ered a d not of the deliverer, thereby further preventing fraudulent use of the restriction condition verification system. In one example, the deliverer may send a person image of himself in addition to the person image of the intended recipient enabling easy verification of the involvement of both a deliverer and an intended recipient in the delivery process. In this example, the sign l identifying the deliverer is the image of the deliverer. The image may be compared at the restriction condition verification system with a pre-stored image of the deliverer. This image may be retrieved using the good identifier that was previously assigned to the deliverer.
In a mo e adva ced example, the deliverer is associated with a terminal, e.g. by means of login credentials or by a card reader, and the terminal transmits a signal identifying the deliverer using such an association. This signal is transmitted during the same delivery procedure as the registration and transmission of the person image of the intended recipient. The information from the signal may be used at the restriction condition verification system to retrieve an image of the
deliverer, The. person image of the intended recipient and the retrieved image of the deliverer may then be compared to verify that two persons are involved in the delivery process. Not only delivery of goods subj ct to restriction conditions as to their availability or access can be controlled using the above described method and system, A similar approach can be used to control restriction condition compliance when a person remotely orders such a good. This is not only true for ordering goods that subsequently need to be delivered, but also for goods that may be accessed online after ordering, such as database access, data access, website access, etc.
Thus, a method is disclosed for controlling restriction condition compliance when a person remotely orders a good subject to a restriction condition. The method includes receiving an image from the ordering person at a restriction condition verification system prior to completion of an ordering process of the good and issuing an authorisation signal from the re- striction condition verification system allowing completion of the ordering process for the good if from the person image, the person is determined to comply with the restriction condition, Processes at the restriction condition verification system may be identical as described above in relation to the delivery of the goods. Again, if from the person image of the ordering person it cannot be determined v/hether the person complies with the person related restriction requirements, an identification document may be required before authorisation is given. Only after issuing the authorisation signal from the restriction condition verification system, the online order can be completed.
If the authorisation signal is not received, or an explicit delivery denial signal is received, the online order cannot be completed.
The disclosure also relates to a terminal for use in the method, to a restriction condition verification system and to a computer program.
As will be appreciated by one skilled in the art, aspects of the present invention may be embodied as a system, method or computer program product. Accordingly, aspects of the present
invention may take the form of an entirely hardware embodiment, a software embodiment (including firmware, resident software, micro-code, etc, } or an embodiment combining software and hard™ ware aspects that may all generally be referred to herein as a "circuit," "module" or "system". Functions described in this disclosure may be implemented as an algorithm executed by a microprocessor of a computer. Furthermore, aspects of the present invention may take the form of a computer program product embodied in one or more computer readable medium (s) having computer readable program code embodied, e.g., stored, thereon.
Any combination of one or more computer readable medium (s) may be utilized. The coraputer readable medium may be a computer readable signal medium or a computer readable storage medium. A coraputer readable storage medium may be, for example, but not limited, to, an electronic, magnetic, optical, electromagnetic, infrared, or semiconductor system, apparatus, or device, or any suitable combination of the foregoing. More specific examples {a non-exhaustive list) of the computer readable storage medium would include the following; an electrical connection having one or more wires, a portable computer diskette, a hard disk, a solid-state drive, a random access memory (RAM) , a non-volatile memory device, a read-only memory (ROM) , an erasable programrna- ble read-only memory (EPROM or Flash memory) , an optical fiber, a portable compact disc read-only memory (CD-ROM) , an optical storage device, a magnetic storage device, or any suitable combination of the foregoing- In the context of this disclosure, a computer readable storage medium may be any tangible medium that can contain, or store a program for use by or in connection with a instruction execution system, apparatus, or device.
A computer readable signal medium may include a propagated data signal with computer readable program code embodied therein, for example, in baseband or as part, of a carrier wave. Such a propa- gated signal may take any of a variety of forms, including, but not limited to, electro-magnetic, optical, or any suitable combination thereof. A computer readable signal medium may be any computer readable medium that is not a computer readable storage medium and that can communicate, propagate, or transport a pro- gram for use by or in connection with an instruction execution system, apparatus, or device. Program, code embodied on a computer readable medium may be transmitted using any appropriate medium, including but not lim¬ ited to wireless (using electromagnetic and/or optical
radiation); wired, optical fiber, cable, etc, or any suitable combination of the foregoing. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
FIG. 1 is a schematic illustration of an online ordering system, wherein a person P from a device such as computer 1 orders a good G via an online website of a business B, Business 3 may offer online services, such as data access to particular content that is only intended for particular groups of people. Business B may also sell goods G to which particular person restrictions apply. Business B has outsourced actual delivery of such goods G to a delivery service D sending deliverer D to hand over the good ( s ) to person P (i.e. provide access to the good G) after the order or at least convey the package to the premises of person P. Deliverer D is assigned a mobile terminal 2. Typically, delivery service D will have a. plurality of terminals employed in the field. Alternatively, good G is provided with access prohibition .means such as a lock, A terminal 2 is attached to the good G. In such a case, deliverer D may leave the good G at the prem¬ ises of person P and access to the good G is only provided once person P himself has performed the access providing routine using te minal 2.
In the following, it will be assumed that deliverer D is to hand over the good G is person.
Good G is provided with an identifier ID that is e.g. known to business B and/or delivery service D and stored in combination with other product data. Such product data may
comprise restriction conditions as to the persons that may have and/or use such products, such as license restrictions and/or age restrictions.
If good G relates to a physical product that actually needs to be delivered to person P, deliverer D carries good G to the premises of person P and brings mobile terminal 2 with him as illustrated by the arrow in Fig. 1.
As illustrated in Fig. 2, the system comprises a restriction condition verification systera 3 comprising a
controller 4 for distributing incoming signals, e.g. person images and document images received from terminal 2 amongst a plurality of displays units 5. Restriction condition verification system 3 comprises a database 6 which may represent one or more databases. Restriction condition verification system 3 may comprise an age verification centre.
Display units 5 are configured to display images received from the terminals 2 to human operators in order to e.g. verify the age of the intended recipient;, viz. person P, of the good G. The images may include a person image of an intended recipient and/or an image of (a part of) an identification docume t .
Controller 4 distributes the recei ed images amongst the display units 5, The controller 4 may execute a round robin distribution process for efficient distribution of the images. The controller 13 is also configured for providing, in the first verification phase, a person image of an intended recipient P to a first display unit 5 and, for the subsequent second verification phase, the document image (and possibly again the person image) on a second display unit 5, different from the first display unit 14.
The restriction condition verification system 3 also comprises a database 6. The database 6 may temporarily store the received images and other data received from the terminals 2, Restriction condition verification system 3 may also be configured to receive or retrieve information from external
systems, such as business B as shown in Fig. 2 or delivery service D.
Fig. 3 is a schematic illustration of terminal 2. Terminal 2 has a transceiver Tx/Rx configured for wireless
communication with restriction condition verification system 3 via a wireless access network. Furthermore, terminal 2 comprises a touch screen 7 comprising- various (soft) keys 8, and a controller 9. Furthermore,, terminal 2 comprises registration means 10 (e.g. a camera) for registering person images and document- images .
Operation of the system described above will now be further explained with respect to Fig. 4 wherein the restriction condition relates to an age restriction.
20-year old person P orders a box of whiskey (good G) with the website of business B using his computer 1 (step SI) , During step SI, person P has uploaded an image of himself or has associated this image with the order such that the image of the person P is stored upon completion of the order and in association with the order.
During the process of ordering the box G, an identifier ID is assigned to the box of whiskey G. Business B is aware of the age restriction of 18 applying for whiskey G and has registered this restriction condition in association with identifier ID. The stored person image may also be associated with the identifier ID (step S2) .
Logistics of delivering box G has been outsourced by business B to delivery service D. Delivery service D transports whiskey G to the premises of person P, Prior to handing over whiskey G to person P, deliverer D has logged in terminal 2 using soft buttons 8. As such, the terminal 2 now stores an identification of the deliverer D (step S3) . Also, prior to handing over whiskey G to person P, deliverer D registers., identifier ID of whiskey G, e.g. by scanning a bar code on the box of whiskey G {step S4). This information is communicated to business B and delivery service D. The identifier is associated to an image of delivery person D,
The identifier ID is used to retrieve the age classification of the box of whiskey G, if any, at business B. Business B communicates to terminal 2 that an age restriction condition applies. Accordingly, a message is displayed on touch screen 7 of terminal 2 that delivery of the box of whiskey G is subject to age ve ification and that delivery can ot be completed without the age verification (step S5) . Approval by person P is requested. Person P may approve age verification using terminal 2 .
Upon approval of the age verification, a person image of person P is registered using camera 10 on terminal 2, The person image is transferred in step S6 to age verification system 3 (possibly together with identifier ID of the box of whiskey G) , where the person image is displayed on one of the displays 5. The applicable age classification has been obtained from business B using identifier ID, such that the human operator knows that person P needs to be 18 or older. The human operator may also retrieve (step S7) the image of delivery person D to verify that the person image received from terminal 1 is not an image of the delivery person instead of an image of person P. Still further, human operator, again using identifier ID, may retrieve person image of person P stored at business system B during the ordering process of the box of whiskey G (step 38} .
Since person P is 20 years old, the human operator, after determining that person P to which the box of whiskey G is to be delivered is the same as the person P that order the box of whiskey G and that the person image received is not an image of the delivery person D, may find it difficult to determine whether delivery of box of whiskey G should be authorized. Accordingly, in step S9, an identification document request is issued from the age verification system 3 to the terminal 2 of the deliverer D, Person P now has to present an identification document from which a document image can be registered using terminal 2. The document image is transferred from terminal 2 to age verification system 3 (step S10) . From the document image, a human operator verifies that person P qualifies for authorisation and issues an authorisation signal in step Sll for terminal 2.
Upon receipt of the authorisation signal, terminal 2 is enabled to complete the delivery process in step S12, Terminal 2 may now e.g. enable signing by person 2 on touch screen 7 confirming delivery and printing of a receipt. If the authorisation signal would not be received, delivery of the box of whiskey could not be completed.
Alternatively or in addition to the method, performed at delivery of the good G as defined above, restriction condition verification may be performed during ordering of the good G, i.e. during step SI. Th s is not only true for ordering goods that subsequently need to be delivered, such as the box of whiskey G, but also for goods that may be accessed online after ordering, such as database access, data access, website access, etc. ,
The method performed during the ordering process controls restriction condition compliance when a person P remotely orders a good G that is subject to a restriction condition. The method includes receiving an image from the ordering person P at a restriction condition verification system 3 prior to completion of a orde ing process of the good G a d issuing an
authorisation signal from the restriction condition verification system 3 allowing completion of the ordering process for the good G if from the person image, the person P is determined to comply with the restriction condition. Processes at the restriction condition verification system may be identical as described above in relation to the delivery of the goods . Again, if from the person image of the ordering person P it cannot be determined whether the person P corapiies with the person related restriction requirements, an identification document may be required before authorisation is given. Only after issuing the authorisation signal from the restriction condition verification system, the online order ca be completed.
If the authorisation signal is not received, or an explicit delivery denial signal is received, the online order cannot be completed.
The person P ordering the good G may be different from the person P to which the good is actually delivered. If both methods as described above are applied, both persons P need to meet the age restriction condition. It. should be noted that a deviation between the person P ordering the good G and the person P to which the. good G is delivered, as may become apparent in one embodiment described above, not necessarily results in denying delivery.
As described above, the restriction condition verification system may be embedded in online ordering systems in order to tie online ordering and/or delivery to the verification. Al- ternative or additional external, systems may be involved, e.g. payment systems of financial institutions and/or certificate issuing authorities. Embedding the verification method into methods performed by such systems reduce chances for persons P to bypass restriction condition verification.
Fig- 5 is a block diagram illustrating an exemplary data processing system that may be used as a part of a restriction condition verification system or as a terminal as described above .
Data processing system 50 may include at least one pro- cessor 51 coupled to memory elements 52 through a system bus 53. As such, the data processing system 50 may store program code within memory elements 52. Further,, processor 51 may execute the program code accessed from memory elements 52 via system bus 53. In one aspect, data processing system 50 may be implemented as a computer that is suitable for storing and/or executing program code, It should be appreciated, however, that data processing system 50 may be implemented in the form of any system including a processor and memory that is capable of per orming the functions described within this specification .
Memory elements 52 may include one or more physical memory devices such as, for example, local memory 54 and one or more bulk storage devices 55. Local memory may refer to random access memory or other non-persistent memory device (s) generally- used du ing actual execution of the program code. A bulk storage device 55 may be implemented as a hard drive or other persistent data storage device. The data processing system 50 may also include one or more cache memories (not shown) that provide temporary storage of at least some program code in order to reduce the number of times program code must be retrieved from bulk storage device 55 during execution.
Input/output (I/O) devices depicted as input device 56 and output device 57 optionally can be coupled to the data processing system 50. Examples of input devices may include, but. are not limited to, for example, a keyboard, a pointing device such as a mouse, a touch screen, or the like. Examples of output device may include, but are not limited to, for example, a monitor or display, speakers, or the like. Input device 56 and/or output device 57 may be coupled to data processing system 50 either directly or through intervening I/O controllers. A network adapter 58 may also be coupled to data processing system 50 to enable it to become coupled to other systems, computer systems, remote network devices, and/or remote storage devices through intervening private or public networks, The network adapter 58 may comprise a data receiver for receiving data that is transmitted by said systems, devices and/or networks to said data processing system 50 and a data transmitter for transmitting data to said systems, devices and/or networks . Modems, cable modems, and Ethernet cards are examples of different types of network adapters that may be used with data processing system 50.
As pictured in Fig. 5, memory elements 52 may store an application 59, It. should be appreciated that data processing system 50 may further execute an operating system (not shown) that can facilitate execution of the application. Applications, being implemented in the form of executable program code, can be executed by data processing system 50, e.g. , by processor 51, Responsive to executing the application 59, the data processing system 50 may be configured to perform one or more operation as disclosed in the present application in further detail.
In one aspect, for example, data processing system 50 may represent a data processing system in a restriction condition verification system 3, e.g. controller 4, In that case, application 29 may represent an application that, when executed, configures data processing system 50 to perform the various functions described herein with reference to a restriction condition verification system. Examples of a user data processing system can include, but are not limited to, a server or server system or the like.
In another aspect, data processing system 50 may represent a terminal as depicted schematically in FIG. 3 in which case application 59, when executed, may configure data processing system 50 to perform operations as described in the present disclosure with reference to a terminal 2. Terminal 2 may e.g. comprises portable computer or a mobile phone.
It is noted that the method has been described in terms of steps to be performed, but it is not to be construed that the steps described must be performed in the exact order described and/or one after another. One skilled in the art may en ision to change the order of the steps and/or to pe form steps in paral¬ lel to achieve equivalent, technical results.

In one embodiment, the program(s) can be contained on a variety of non-transitory computer-readable storage media (generally referred to as "storage") , where, as used herein, the expression "non-transitory computer readable storage media" comprises all computer-readable media, with the sole exception being a transitory, propagating signal. In another embodiment, the program (s) can be contained on a variety of transitory computer-readable storage media, Illustrative computer-readable storage media include, but are not limited to: (i) non-writable storage media (e.g., read-only memory devices within a computer such as CD-ROM disks readable by a CD-ROM drive, ROM chips or any type of solid-state non-volatile semiconductor memory) on which information is permanently stored; and writable storage media {e.g., flash memory, floppy disks within a diskette drive or hard-disk drive or any type of solid-state random- access semiconductor memory) on which alterable information is stored .

Claims

1, A method for controlling access, e.g. controlling delivery, of remotely ordered goods, wherein availability of the good is subject to a restriction condition and the good is to be delivered to a person by a deliverer and wherein a terminal is applied, the method comprising the steps of:
- receiving an image of the person (a person image) as registered by the terminal at a from the terminal in a restriction condition verification system prior to providing access to the good, e.g. prior to delivery of the good;
- issuing an authorisation signal from the restriction condition verification system to the terminal if from the person image, the person is determined to comply with the restriction condition.
2, The method according to claim 1, wherein the restriction condition is an age-restriction condition associated with the good and wherein the good is provided with an identifier, the method further comprising the steps of:
- optionally, receiving the identifier at the restriction condition verification system;
- associating the identifier with the good associated with the age-restriction condition;
- issuing the authorisation signal from the restriction condition verification system if from the person image, the person is determined to comply with the age restriction condition,
3, The method according to one or more of the preceding claims, wherein the terminal of the deliverer is a mobile terminal providing wireless communication with the restriction condition verification system, , The method according to one or more of the preceding claims, wherein the method further comprises:
- issuing an identification document request from the restriction condition verification system to the terminal of the deliverer if from the person image, the person cannot be determined to comply with the restriction condition;
- receiving a document image from the terminal at the restriction condition verification system in response to the identification document request;
- issuing the authorisation signal from the restriction condition verification system to the terminal if from the document image, the person is determined to comply with the
restriction condition.
5, The method according to one or more of the preceding claims, further comprising the steps of;
- optionally, storing at least one of a person image and a document image, of a person remotely ordering the good subject to the restriction condition;
- verifying at the restriction condition verif cation system whether the stored person image of the person remotely ordering the good matches the person, image received from the terminal of the deliverer, respectively whether the stored document image matches a document image received from the terminal of the deliverer ;
~ issuing the authorisation signal only if also at least one of the stored person image matches the received person image and the stored document image matches the received document image .
6, The method according to claim 5, further comprising the steps of :
- optionally, storing at least one of the person image and document image, of the person remotely ordering the good in association with an identifier of the good;
- receiving the identifier of the good from the terminal of the deliverer;
- retrieving at least one of the stored person image and the document image on the basis of the received identifier. 7, The method according to one or more of the preceding claims , wherein the authorisation signal enables the terminal to provide access to the good, e.g. by completion of the delivery with the terminal by the deliverer.
8, The method according to one or more of the preceding claims, comprising the step of receiving a deliverer identifying signal from the terminal and displaying an image of the deliverer at the restriction condition verification system on the basis of the deliverer identifying signal.
9, A restriction condition verification system, configured for performing the method according to one or more of the preceding claims.
10. Ά terminal configured for use in combination with the restriction condition verification system according to claim 9, comprising:
- at least one image registration device provided for registering an image of the person
- a transmitter configured for transmitting the registered person image to a restriction condition verification system prior to delivery of the good;
- a receiver configured for receiving an autho isation signal from the restriction condition verification system if from the person image, the person is determined to comply with the restriction condition;
- a controller configured for providing access to the good, e.g. by enabling completion of the delivery of the good, only when the authorisation signal is received.
11. The terminal according to claim 10, further comprising means for registering an identifier of the good, wherein the transmitter is further configured for transmitting the identifier to the restriction condition verification system prior to providing access to the good, e.g. prior to delivery of the good .
12. The terminal according to claim 10 or 11, wherein the controller is configured for providing a registration approval message prior to registering person image.
13. The ter inal according to one or more of the preceding claims 10-12, wherein the terminal of the deliverer is a mobile terminal providing wireless communication with the restriction condition verification system.
14. The terminal according to one or more of the preceding claims 10-13, wherein
- the controller is arranged for presenting an identification document message in response to receiving an
identification document request from the restriction condition verification system;
- the terminal is configured for registering an image of a document (a document image) ;
- the transmitter is configured for transmitting the document image to the restriction condition verification system;
- the controller is configured for providing access o the good,, e.g. by enabling completion of the delivery of the good, only when the authorisation signal is received in response to transmitting the document image.
15. The terminal according to one or more of the preceding claims 10-14, wherein the terminal is configured for transmitting a deliverer identification signal to the restriction condition verification system.
16. A method for controlling rest iction condition compliance when a person remotely orders a good subject to a restriction condition, the method comprising the steps of - receiving an image from the person at a restriction condition verification system prior to completion of an ordering process of the good;
- issuing an authorisation signal from the restriction condition verification system allowing completion of the order¬ ing process for the good if, from the person image , the person is determined to comply with the restriction condition,
17. The method according to claim 16, further comprising the steps of:
- issuing an identification document request from the restriction condition verification system to a terminal of the person if, from the person image, the person cannot be determined to comply with the restriction condition;
- receiving a document image from the terminal at the restriction condition verification system in response to the identification document request;
- issuing the authorisation signal from the restriction condition verification system allowing completion of the ordering processing if, from the document image, the person is determined to comply with the restriction condition.
18, The method according to claim 16 or 17, further comprising any of the steps according to one or more of the claims 1 - 8.
19, A restriction condition verification system configured for performing the method according to one or more of the claims 16-18,
20. A computer program comprising software code portions configured for, when executed, performing one or more of the steps of the method of one or more of the claims 1-8 and/or 16-18.
