7. Biometric ID reader
The virtual deposit money storage and spending virtual wallet (1) according to the present invention basically comprises the following: a screen (2), a keypad (3), a main memory (4), a temporary memory (5) and a communication module (6). The virtual deposit money to be stored in said virtual wallet can comprise directly virtual deposit money as well as real credit card/debit card information, virtual card information or temporary card information generated from the real credit card/debit card, all financial data, all banking data of the person or organization owning the virtual wallet (1).
The virtual wallet (1) will be provided with a main memory (4) capable of accommodating all information comprised in a credit card or a debit card such as card number, user information, card validity period as well as all information such as codes placed for security purposes and historical transaction records. Storing card information as well as information belonging to a virtual deposit money with a specific value, i.e. with a denomination value and having a specific code in the main memory (4) of this virtual wallet (1 ) is also possible.
To generate the virtual deposit money prior to the use thereof, generation of a code specific to each virtual deposit money together with the virtual deposit money and matching of these two will be realized by a competent authority. Loading this virtual deposit money and code thereof generated by the competent authority to the virtual wallet (1) will be realized in an encrypted and controlled manner at the competent authority itself, bank, ATM or a similar environment. However, to transfer the generated virtual deposit money from one virtual wallet (1 ) to the other, the communication between said virtual wallets (1 ) will be sufficient.
Virtual wallet (1 ) will not enable loading information of said debit card or virtual deposit money but will provide security of this information. During making any payment, access of a device receiving the payment such as a POS device, cash register, computer, tablet, etc. to the information required for the payment to be made and checking the accuracy of this information by making a request to a center is required.
During said check, accessed information should not be copied. However, it is possible that a modified POS device or cash register or a malicious hardware or software installed on these devices can store information required only to be read and transmitted . In fact, in case of storage thereof, use of the same information without the permission of the card holder in another shopping will also be possible.
To avoid this situation, making not all the data but only a portion thereof comprised in the virtual wallet (1 ) to be readable will be ensured. Outside access to the main memory (4) where all data is stored will be denied to enable only a portion of the data to be read. I nstead of the main memory (4), a temporary memory (5) created with software or hardware will be the only memory that can be read by the devices accessing the virtual wallet (1 ) from outside.
User will determine the information to be loaded into the temporary memory (5) and will provide said information to be retrieved from the main memory (4) and to be transferred to the temporary memory (5). A screen (2) and keypad (3) disposed on the virtual wallet (1 ) will be utilized to notify the virtual wallet (1) on what information to be transferred and to realize encrypted access by providing data security. Virtual wallet (1) will be activated upon entering respective password using the keypad (3) not only prior to the information exchange but also for turning the virtual wallet (1 ) on or unlocking the keypad.
The user, by using the keypad (3), selects the option among the virtual deposit money, credit card or debit card options to be used during the payment (1 01 ). Information regarding the selected payment option is simultaneously displayed on the screen (2) (102). After selection of the payment means, the user is asked by the virtual wallet (1 ) for the payment amount (103). Virtual wallet (1 ) writes the information retrieved from the main memory (-4) into the temporary memory (5) (105) with the password entry option for the respective amount to be entered by the user using the keypad (3) and for the user to approve the transaction (104).
If the user will use virtual deposit money, virtual deposit money information corresponding to the payment amount denomination is transferred to the temporary memory (5) (106). Virtual deposit money and specific codes thereof transferred from the main memory (4) will act together. Virtual deposit money and codes thereof that are not approved to be used in the virtual wallet (1 ) will remain in the main memory (4) and virtual deposit money will be safely stored since outside access to this information is denied. In the case of card use, limited data transfer is not possible. This is because all card information is required to be transferred to the temporary memory (5) upon approval of the user (107). Since copying card information itself is possible, this information is sent to the temporary memory (5) in a modified manner. During the modification operation, an encryption process linked to the date and time of transaction known only by the user and payment center will be carried out.
After the operation of transfer to the temporary memory (5) is completed, communication module (6) is connected to the means and ports compatible with IR, RF, Bluetooth, female-male connection to provide communication of the virtual wallet (1) by the user with POS device, cash register (108). For connection, physically bringing or directing the virtual wallet (1) closer to a POS device or cash register is possible as well as a feature disposed in the virtual wallet (1 ) allowing for wireless access is made available by physical or software means.
A device such as a POS device, cash register, computer, tablet or the like communicates with a center to check accuracy of the information comprised in the virtual wallet (1) (109). In the case of virtual deposit money data, the center carries out the operation to whether or not providing approval to the information received thereby for approval by checking the information such as the information's validity, current owner and previous owner. If the information received by the center is encrypted card information, it first decrypts the data encrypted by means of an encryption method associated with a password known only by the user and center and with a transaction date and time and then controls said information.
Virtual wallet (1) is notified by the POS device or cash register upon approval of the respective information by the center (1 10). Virtual wallet (1 ) notifies the user thereof about completion of the payment transaction upon conforming that the responses are accurate (11 1 ). Operations such as deleting the used virtual deposit money and debit card information, marking thereof as being used, writing amounts of use into the main memory (4) will be carried out according to the choice of user or producer. However, when main memory (4) of the virtual wallet (1) is subsequently accessed, a detailed transaction and communication list will be obtained.
Keypad (3), to carry out the operations described above, will comprise number keys, "enter", "cancel", "send", "print", "lock", "delete" "send invoice information" or similar function keys. Screen (2) can be a 8-digit or grayscale, color screen on which letters and numbers can be read. Further, operating the virtual wallet (1) with batteries as well as solar panels is also possible. Virtual wallet (1) can be operated by being externally charged thanks to rechargeable batteries.
The present invention is operated by being triggered through receipt of payment amount and approval information directly by the virtual wallet (1) and user. However, in terms of user-friendliness, the present invention can also be operated under the supervision of the person selling services or products. In accordance with this purpose;
An entity with a POS device or cash register can access the virtual wallet (1 ) from outside in order to request a payment. Virtual wallet (1) will allow the access regarding the user thereof by means of using the keypad (3). In addition, transfer of the data comprised in the main memory (4) to the temporary memory (5) will be provided upon delivery of the information regarding the amount to the virtual wallet (1 ) by the seller and also upon provision of approval by the user on the virtual wallet (1 ).
During the operation of the present invention, the ability of devices such as POS devices, cash registers to receive payments by receiving the virtual deposit money and debit card information comprised in the virtual wallet (1) is described above in the Step 108. Carrying out said payment transaction in a virtual store, but not in a point of sale such as a real store can be needed. In such cases, virtual wallet (1) will carry out the communication with the virtual store through a pc or similar virtual wallet (1 ) enabling the user thereof to connect to the respective virtual store.
While the operation steps of the present invention are described above, providing access security using keypad (3) is mentioned in the steps such as activation of the virtual wallet (1 ), unlocking the keypad, approving the transaction, etc.
Access security can also be provided by means of a combination of a biometric ID reader (7) disposed on the virtual wallet (1) and user instead of the combination of the keypad (3) and password. Biometric ID reader (7) can be a fingerprint, retina scanner, vein map, face topology, voice tone identifier.
