 例えば、複数の拠点(Edgeという)のファイルサーバ(ローカルファイルサーバ)と、データセンタ(Coreという)のファイルサーバ(リモートファイルサーバ)とを接続した計算機システムが知られている。この計算機システムにおいては、EdgeのファイルがCoreへコピーされ、このコピーされたファイルは、Edgeにおいてスタブ化されて管理され、また、Edgeにおいてスタブ化されているファイルに対してアクセスが発生すると、Core側からこのファイルを読み出すことが行われる。
 このような計算機システムにおいて、Edgeに新たなローカルファイルサーバを追加する場合や、Edgeのローカルファイルサーバの環境設定を変更する場合には、各Edgeにおける管理者がローカルファイルサーバに対して環境設定を行っている。ここで、環境設定とは、Edgeのクライアント(エンドユーザ)がローカルファイルサーバによるファイル共有サービスを受けることができるようになるまでの基本的な種々の設定、例えば、ネットワーク設定、ファイルシステム作成設定等をいう。
 ローカルファイルサーバに対して環境設定が完了すると、クライアントは、ローカルファイルサーバが提供するファイル共有サービスを利用できるようになる。

 従来の計算機システムには、導入コストが高いという問題がある。具体的には、Edge数が多いと、それぞれのEdgeにおいてローカルファイルサーバの環境設定を行わなければならず、手間がかかるという問題がある。また、Edge数が多いと、それぞれのEdgeにおいて環境設定を行わなければならず、設定ミスが発生する可能性が増大する。
 また、従来の計算機システムには、運用時においては、運用水準にばらつきが生じるという問題がある。具体的には、例えば、複数のEdgeをそれぞれ別の管理者が管理するようにすると、例えば、容量に余裕のあるEdgeが他にあるのにも関わらず、特定のEdgeばかり使用されて運用継続が困難なほどファイルシステムの使用率が高くなってしまう虞がある。
 ローカルシステムに存在する複数のローカルファイルサーバと、リモートシステムに存在し複数のローカルファイルサーバに接続されたリモートファイルサーバとを有する計算機システムにおいて、リモートシステムに、環境設定サーバが備えられる。環境設定サーバが、環境設定に関する環境設定情報をローカルファイルサーバ毎に記憶している記憶デバイスから、複数のローカルファイルサーバのうちの設定先のローカルファイルサーバに対応した環境設定情報を特定し、特定した環境設定情報を、設定先のローカルファイルサーバに送信する。設定先のローカルファイルサーバは、受信した環境設定情報に基づく環境設定を行うことができる。

 ここで、各種用語について説明する。「Core」とは、リモートの計算機システムを含んだ拠点(集約拠点)であり、例えば、サーバやストレージ装置を一括管理する拠点やクラウドサービスを提供する拠点(例えばデータセンタ)である。「Edge」とは、ローカルの計算機システムを含んだ拠点であり、例えば、支店、営業所、リモートオフィスなどユーザが実際に業務を行う拠点である。「スタブ」とは、ファイルの格納先情報(リンク先を表す情報)が関連付けられたオブジェクト(メタデータ)である。スタブ化されたファイルは、実際のデータを保持していないため、アクセスされるとCoreの計算機システムから実データを取得する必要がある。このため、スタブ化されたファイルへのアクセスは、通常のファイルに比べてアクセス性能が低下する。

 RAIDシステム30は、Edgeノード20から送信されたブロックレベルのI/O要求を受信し、適切なDISK31へのI/Oを実行する。
 Edgeノード20は、メモリ22と、CPU21と、NIC(Network Interface Card)23と、を備える。メモリ22及びNIC23に、CPU21が接続されている。
 NIC23は、Coreノード110、クライアント計算機40、及びPRS130と通信する通信インタフェースデバイスである。NIC23に代えて他種の通信インタフェースデバイスが採用されても良い。
 メモリ22は、CPU21が直接読み書きできる記憶領域(例えば、RAM(Random Access Memory)やROM(Read Only Memory))である。Edgeノード20では、メモリ22上にEdgeノード20を制御するプログラム(例えばOS(Operating System))が読み込まれ、CPU21がそのプログラムを実行する。Edgeノード20は、メモリ22に加えて又は代えて、別種の記憶資源を有してもよい。メモリ22は、記憶デバイスの一例である。
 Edgeノード20は、NIC23経由で、クライアント計算機40からファイルレベルのI/O要求を受信する。Edgeノード20は、そのI/O要求で指定されているファイルを構成するデータブロックのI/OのためのI/O要求(ブロックレベルのI/O要求)を作成する。Edgeノード20は、ブロックレベルのI/O要求を、RAIDシステム30に送信する。
 クライアント計算機40は、クライアント(ユーザ)が使用する計算機の一例であり、メモリ42と、CPU41と、NIC43と、を備える。クライアント計算機40は、メモリ42に加えて又は代えて、別種の記憶資源を有してもよい。
 クライアント計算機40では、プログラム(クライアント計算機40を制御するプログラム(例えばOS))をメモリ42上に読み込み、CPU41がプログラムを実行する。また、クライアント計算機40は、NIC43経由で、ファイルレベルのI/O要求をEdgeノード20に送信する。
 Core100の計算機システムは、Coreノード110と、RAIDシステム120と、プロビジョニングサーバ(以下、PRS)130と、RAIDシステム140とを備える。Coreノード110が、リモートファイルサーバの一例であり、具体的には、例えば、アーカイブファイルサーバである。Coreノード110に、RAIDシステム120が接続されている。
 RAIDシステム120は、DISK121を備える。図1では、RAIDシステム120の構成とRAIDシステム30の構成とは、同一である。従って、RAIDシステム120も、Coreノード110から送信されたブロックレベルのI/O要求を受信し、適切なDISK121へのI/Oを実行する。なお、RAIDシステム120の構成とRAIDシステム30の構成は、異なっていてもよい。
 Coreノード110は、メモリ112と、CPU111と、NIC113と、を備える。メモリ112に代えて又は加えて、別種の記憶資源が備えられてもよい。Coreノード110では、メモリ112上にCoreノード110を制御するプログラム(例えばOS)を読み込み、CPU111がそのプログラムを実行する。また、Coreノード110は、NIC113及び通信ネットワーク50経由で、Edgeノード20、PRS130と通信する。Coreノード110は、RAIDシステム120に対してブロック単位のアクセスを行う。
 RAIDシステム140は、DISK141を備える。図1では、RAIDシステム140の構成とRAIDシステム30の構成とは、同一である。従って、RAIDシステム140も、PRS130から送信されたブロックレベルのI/O要求を受信し、適切なDISK141へのI/Oを実行する。なお、RAIDシステム140の構成とRAIDシステム30の構成は、異なっていてもよい。
 PRS130は、環境設定サーバの一例であり、メモリ132と、CPU131と、NIC133と、を備える。メモリ132に代えて又は加えて、別種の記憶資源が備えられてもよい。PRS130では、メモリ132上にPRS130を制御するプログラム(例えばOS)を読み込み、CPU131がそのプログラムを実行する。また、PRS130は、NIC133及び通信ネットワーク50経由で、Edgeノード20と通信する。また、PRS130は、NIC133及び通信ネットワーク経由で、Coreノード110と通信する。PRS130は、RAIDシステム140に対してブロック単位のアクセスを行う。NIC133は、1以上設けられている。
 PRS130と、Coreノード110とには、通信ネットワークを介して、管理計算機60が接続されてもよい。管理計算機60は、管理者がPRS130やCoreノード110に対して各種設定等を行うための計算機の一例である。管理計算機60は、メモリ62と、CPU61と、NIC63と、を備える。管理計算機60では、メモリ62上に管理計算機60を制御するプログラム(例えばOS)を読み込み、CPU61がそのプログラムを実行する。また、管理計算機60は、NIC63及び通信ネットワーク経由で、PRS130及びCoreノード110と通信する。
 Core100の計算機システムは、次のようにすることもできる。すなわち、図1に示すCoreノード110と、PRS130とを、図2に示すように、1つの計算機で構成される統合サーバ150としても良い。また、図1に示すRAIDシステム120と、RAIDシステム140とをRAIDシステム160としてもよい。このようにすると、Coreノード110とPRS130を物理的に分離する必要が無い(例えば別々の計算機を用意しなくても済む)。
 統合サーバ150は、メモリ152と、CPU151と、NIC153と、を備え、図1に示すCoreノード110及びPRS130の機能を実現する。メモリ152に代えて又は加えて、別種の記憶資源が備えられてもよい。統合サーバ150では、メモリ152上に統合サーバ150を制御するプログラム(例えばOS)を読み込み、CPU151がそのプログラムを実行する。また、統合サーバ150は、NIC153及び通信ネットワーク50経由で、Edgeノード20と通信する。統合サーバ150は、RAIDシステム160に対してブロック単位のアクセスを行う。
 なお、本実施例において、「サーバ」は、物理的なサーバであっても良いし仮想的なサーバであっても良い。物理的なサーバとしては、例えば、一以上の計算機又はストレージ装置であって良い。
 図3は、実施例に係る計算機システムのソフトウェア構成図である。
 RAIDシステム30(120、140)は、複数のLU(Logical Unit)32(122、142)と、OS LU(OS用 Logical Unit)33(123、143)とを有する。LU32(122、142)は、Edgeノード20(Coreノード110、PRS130)等の上位装置に対して提供される論理的な記憶デバイスであり、DISK31(121、141)の記憶領域に基づいて作成される。LU32(122、142)は、1以上のDISK31(121、141)に基づく実体的なLUであってもよいし、Thin プロビジョニングに従う仮想的なLUであってもよい。LU32(122、142)は、複数のブロック(記憶領域)で構成されている。LU32(122、142)に、ファイルが記憶される。
 OS LU33(123、143)は、論理的な記憶デバイスである。OS LU33(123、143)は、1以上のDISK31(121、141)に基づく実体的なLUであってもよい。OS LU33(123、143)は、Edgeノード20、Coreノード110、PRS130を制御するプログラム等が、記憶されてよい。
 Edgeノード20のメモリ22(Coreノード110のメモリ112)には、データムーバプログラム25(114)と、ファイルシステム24(115)と、カーネル/ドライバ28(116)と、が記憶されている。Edgeノード20のメモリ22には、更に、プロビジョニング要求プログラム26と、レポーティングプログラム27が記憶されている。以下、Edgeノード20内のデータムーバプログラム25を、「ローカルムーバ」と言い、Coreノード110内のデータムーバプログラム114を、「リモートムーバ」と言い、それらを特に区別しない場合に、「データムーバプログラム」と言う。Edgeノード20とCoreノード110との間では、ローカルムーバ25及びリモートムーバ114を介して、ファイルのやり取りが行われる。
 ローカルムーバ25は、RAIDシステム30のLU32から、レプリケーション対象のファイルを読み出し、そのファイルをCoreノード110に転送する。リモートムーバ114は、レプリケーション対象のファイルをEdgeノード20から受信し、そのファイルを、RAIDシステム120のLU122に書き込む。
 また、ローカルムーバ25は、LU32内のレプリケーション済みファイル(厳密にはそのファイルの実データ)を、ある所定の条件が満たされた場合に、削除し、それにより、レプリケーション済みファイルの実質的なマイグレーションを実現する。その後、ローカルムーバ25は、実データが削除されたファイルのスタブ(メタデータ)に対してクライアント計算機40からリード要求を受けた場合、リモートムーバ114を経由して、スタブにリンクしているファイル(ファイルの実データ)を取得し、取得したファイルをクライアント計算機40に送信する。
 カーネル/ドライバ28(116)は、Edgeノード20(Coreノード110)上で動作する複数のプログラム(プロセス)のスケジュール制御やハードウェアからの割り込みをハンドリングするなど、全般的な制御及びハードウェア固有の制御を行う。
 プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、PRS130から環境設定情報を取得して設定するプロビジョニング要求処理を実行する。レポーティングプログラム27は、PRS130にEdgeノード20の状態に関するレポートを送信するレポーティング処理を実行する。
 ファイルシステム24(115)は、ファイルシステムプログラムであり、ファイルシステム構成情報を管理する。ファイルシステム構成情報は、各ファイル、ディレクトリに関する情報(例えば、ファイルのサイズや場所などを表す情報等)を含み、例えばOS LU33(123)やメモリ22(112)に格納される。
 クライアント計算機40のメモリ42には、アプリケーション44と、ファイルシステム45と、カーネル/ドライバ46とが記憶されている。
 アプリケーション44は、クライアント計算機40が、作業の目的に応じて使うソフトウェア(アプリケーションプログラム)である。ファイルシステム45及びカーネル/ドライバ46は、上述のファイルシステム24(115)、カーネル/ドライバ28(116)とほぼ同様である。
 PRS130のメモリ132には、プロビジョニングプログラム134と、ファイルシステム135と、カーネル/ドライバ136と、Edgeノード管理テーブル137と、設定テンプレート138とが記憶されている。
 プロビジョニングプログラム134は、Edgeノード20及び/又はCoreノード110に対する環境設定を行うためのプロビジョニング処理を実行する。ファイルシステム135及びカーネル/ドライバ136は、上述のファイルシステム24(115)、カーネル/ドライバ28(116)とほぼ同様である。
Edgeノード管理テーブル137は、計算機システムの各Edgeノード20に関する情報を管理する。Edgeノード管理テーブル137の詳細は、後述する。設定テンプレート138は、Edgeノード20の環境設定に必要な項目を示す設定テンプレート(単にテンプレートと呼ぶ場合がある)である。設定テンプレート138は、種々の観点から項目の異なる複数のテンプレートがあってよい。例えば、マイグレーションを重視するためのテンプレートや、アーカイブを重視するためのテンプレートがあってもよい。また、テンプレートは、環境設定に必要なすべての項目のみを有しているテンプレートであってもよく、また、複数の項目中の一部の項目に対して、共通して用いる値が設定されている中間テンプレートであってもよい。
 管理計算機60のメモリ62には、アプリケーション64と、ファイルシステム65と、カーネル/ドライバ66とが記憶されている。
 アプリケーション64は、管理計算機60が、作業の目的に応じて使うソフトウェア(アプリケーションプログラム)である。本実施形態では、アプリケーション64は、例えば、PRS130からの情報に基づいて、Edgeノード20に設定する環境設定情報の入力を管理者から受け付ける。例えば、アプリケーション64は、設定するEdgeノード20に対応する設定テンプレート138の項目に対する値を管理者から受け付ける。このように、Edgeノード20に対応する設定テンプレート138の項目に対する値を管理者から受け付けるので、Edgeノード20に設定すべき値を適切に受け付けることができる。管理計算機60のファイルシステム65及びカーネル/ドライバ66は、上述のファイルシステム24(115)、カーネル/ドライバ28(116)とほぼ同様である。
 図4は、実施例に係るEdgeノード管理テーブルの一例の構成図である。
 Edgeノード管理テーブル137は、各Edgeノード20を管理するためのテーブルであり、シリアル番号137aと、認証トークン137bと、設定テンプレート137cと、設定情報137dとのフィールドを含むエントリを格納する。
 シリアル番号137cには、Edgeノード20を識別する識別情報(シリアル番号)が格納される。認証トークン137bには、エントリに対応するEdgeノード20との間で用いる認証トークンが設定される。認証トークンは、Edgeノード20との通信を行うための初期設定時に取得されて設定される。設定テンプレート137cには、エントリに対応するEdgeノード20の環境設定情報を設定する際に必要な項目を示すテンプレートを参照するためのポインタが格納される。設定情報137dには、エントリに対応するテンプレートに基づいて設定された環境設定情報(単に設定情報ともいう)を参照するためのポインタが格納される。ポインタによって示される設定情報は、例えば、RAIDシステム30に格納されている。
 図6は、実施例に係る設定テンプレートと、設定情報とを説明する図である。
 設定テンプレート138としては、例えば、テンプレート138A(テンプレートA)や、テンプレート138B(テンプレートB)に示すようなものがある。
 テンプレート138Aは、設定項目として、設定バージョン、OSバージョン、ファイルシステム名(Edge)、容量、Quota、CIFS(Common Internet File System)共有名、NFS(Network File System)共有名、マイグレート先(Coreに割り当てた領域)、レポーティングスケジュール、マイグレーションポリシー(Coreとの連携設定)等がある。テンプレート138Bは、設定項目として、設定バージョン、OSバージョン、ファイルシステム名(Edge)、容量、Quota、CIFS共有名、NFS共有名、マイグレート先(Coreに割り当てた領域)、レポーティングスケジュール、圧縮制御ポリシー等がある。これらの設定項目はEdgeノード及び/又はCoreノードの機能の追加/変更に伴い、追加/変更される場合もある。
 設定バージョンは、設定情報のバージョンである。OSバージョンは、OSのバージョンである。ファイルシステム名(Edge)は、Edgeノード20におけるファイルシステム名である。容量は、ファイルシステムの容量である。Quotaは、ファイルシステムの容量に対する閾値である。CIFS共有名は、CIFSでの共有名である。NFS共有名は、NFSでの共有名である。マイグレート先(Coreに割り当てた領域)は、ファイルシステムのファイルのCoreノード110におけるマイグレート先の領域である。レポーティングスケジュールは、レポーティング処理を実行するスケジュールである。マイグレーションポリシー(Coreとの連携設定)は、マイグレーションに関するポリシーである。マイグレーションポリシーとしては、ファイルをスタブ化するスタブ化設定や、WORM(Write Once Read Many)にマイグレートするWORM化設定等がある。圧縮制御ポリシーは、ファイルの圧縮に関するポリシーである。
 テンプレートAの各設定項目に対して値が設定されると、例えば、設定情報139A(設定情報A)に示すようになる。設定情報139Aは、設定バージョンが「2.2」であり、OSバージョンが「3.2」であり、ファイルシステム名が「fs01」であり、容量が「1GB」であり、Quotaが「75%」であり、CIFS共有名が「cifsshare01」であり、NFS共有名が「nfsshare01」であり、マイグレート先が「NS01」であり、レポーティングスケジュールが「毎日12:00」であり、マイグレーションポリシーが「スタブ化設定」、「WORM化設定」等である。
 テンプレートBの各設定項目に対して値が設定されると、例えば、設定情報139B(設定情報B)に示すようになる。設定情報139Bは、設定バージョンが「1.3」であり、OSバージョンが「4.0」であり、ファイルシステム名が「aaa」であり、容量が「5GB」であり、Quotaが「90%」であり、CIFS共有名が「share-a」であり、NFS共有名が「share-a」であり、マイグレート先が「NS02」であり、レポーティングスケジュールが「毎日6:00」であり、圧縮制御ポリシーが、低頻度でアクセスされるファイルのみを圧縮することを意味する「低頻度のみ」である。
 図5は、実施例に係る環境設定完了後の計算機システムの状態の一例を示す図である。図5は、図6に示す設定情報A及び設定情報Bに基づいて、それぞれEdgeノード20の環境設定を行った場合の計算機システムの状態を示している。
 計算機システムのひとつのEdge10のLU32には、ファイルシステム名が「fs01」のファイルシステム34Aが作成され、Core100のLU122には、「fs01」のファイルシステム34Aのファイルのマイグレート先となる「NS01」のファイルシステム125Aが作成される。また、計算機システムの他のEdge10のLU32には、ファイルシステム名が「aaa」のファイルシステム34Bが作成され、Core100のLU122には、「aaa」のファイルシステム34Bのファイルのマイグレート先となる「NS02」のファイルシステム125Bが作成される。作成しようとしたファイルシステムが既に存在している場合は、既存のファイルシステムを利用してEdgeのファイルシステムとマイグレート先の紐付けが行われる。本実施例では、同一の組織(例えば、1つの会社)に対しては、LU122の一部の領域(テナント124:サブ記憶領域)が割り当てられており、同一の組織のEdgeのマイグレート先となるファイルシステム(例えば、125A、125B)は、同一のテナント124内に作成され、他の組織のファイルシステム(例えば、125C)、テナント124以外の領域に作成される。
 図7は、実施例に係るレポーティング情報を示す図である。
 レポーティング情報170Aは、図6の設定情報139Aで設定されたEdgeノード20から送信されるレポーティング情報の一例であり、レポーティング情報170Bは、図6の設定情報139Bで設定されたEdgeノード20から送信されるレポーティング情報の一例である。
 レポーティング情報170Aは、設定情報139Aの設定項目と同じ項目の値と、Edgeノード10における実測値とを含む。本実施例では、実測値としては、ファイルシステムの容量の使用率等がある。レポーティング情報170Bは、設定情報139Bの設定項目と同じ項目の値と、Edgeノード10における実測値とを含む。本実施例では、実測値としては、ファイルシステムの容量の使用率等がある。
 次に、実施例に係る計算機システムの動作について説明する。
 まず、計算機システムにおける処理の概要を説明する。
 図8は、実施例に係るプロビジョニング要求処理の概要を説明する図である。
 プロビジョニング要求処理は、Edge10のEdgeノード20の設定情報を要求し、設定を行う処理であり、例えば、新たなEdge10を計算機システムに接続した際に実行される。図8は、Edge-Aを新たに接続した場合の例を示している。
 Edge-AのEdgeノード20のプロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、PRS130に対して、プロビジョニング要求を送信する(図8の(1))。
 プロビジョニング要求を受信したPRS130は、RAIDシステム140のLU142からEdge-Aに対する設定情報を取得する(図8の(2))。
 次いで、PRS130は、取得した設定情報を、プロビジョニング要求の要求元のEdgeノード20に送信する(図8の(3))。
 Edge-AのEdgeノード20は、設定情報を受信すると、受信した設定情報に基づいて、ファイルシステム等の設定を行う(図8の(4))。これにより、PRS130に設定されている設定情報に基づいて、Edgeノード20の設定が行われる。その後、設定が完了した場合には、Edgeノード20は、設定が完了した旨の通知(設定完了通知)をPRS130に送信する(図8の(5))。
 図9は、実施例に係るレポーティング処理の概要を説明する図である。
 レポーティング処理は、Edgeノード20における設定情報及びEdgeノード20の状態情報を通知する処理であり、例えば、所定の時間毎に実行される。
 Edge-AのEdgeノード20のレポーティングプログラム27は、Edgeノード20のレポーティング情報を作成し、PRS130に対して、レポーティング情報を送信する(図9の(1))。
 レポーティング情報を受信したPRS130は、レポーティング情報の送信元Edgeノード20に対する最新の設定情報をRAIDシステム140のLU142から取得する(図9の(2))。具体的には、例えば、LU142には、Edgeノード20毎に、1又は複数の設定情報が格納されており、PRS130は、レポーティング情報の送信元Edgeノード20に対応した1又は複数の設定情報から最新の設定情報を取得する。送信元Edgeノード20についての最新の設定情報とは、送信元Edgeノード20に対応した1又は複数の設定情報のうち設定バージョンが最も新しい設定情報のことである。
 次いで、PRS130は、取得した最新の設定情報の設定バージョン(最新設定バージョン)をレポーティング情報の送信元のEdgeノード20に送信する(図9の(3))。
 Edge-AのEdgeノード20は、最新設定バージョンを受信すると、RAIDシステム30のLU32から現在の設定バージョンを取得する(図9の(4))。
 次いで、Edgeノード20は、取得した設定バージョンと、最新設定バージョンとの比較を行う(図9の(5))。
 図10は、実施例に係るレポーティング処理及びプロビジョニング要求処理を複合した処理の概要を説明する図である。
 図10に示す処理は、レポーティング処理を実行し、設定情報を変更することが必要な場合にプロビジョニング要求処理を実行する処理である。
 なお、図10の例では、Edge-AのEdgeノード20の設定バージョンは、最新ではなく、Edge-B及びEdge-CのEdgeノード20の設定バージョンが最新であるものとする。
 Edge-A、Edge-B、Edge-Cの各Edgeノード20のレポーティングプログラム27は、各Edgeノード20のレポーティング情報を作成し、PRS130に対して、レポーティング情報を送信する(図10の(1))。
 レポーティング情報を受信したPRS130は、レポーティング情報の送信元Edgeノードに対する最新の設定情報(図10の例では、Edge-A、Edge-B、及びEdge-Cのファイルサーバそれぞれに対する最新の設定情報)をRAIDシステム140のLU142から取得する(図10の(2))。
 次いで、PRS130は、取得した設定情報の設定バージョンを最新設定バージョンとして、それぞれの設定情報に対応するEdgeノード20(Edge-A、Edge-B、及びEdge-Cのファイルサーバ)へ送信する(図10の(3))。これにより、レポーティング情報の送信元の各Edgeノード20に、最新の設定バージョンを把握させることができる。
 Edge-A、Edge-B、及びEdge-Cの各Edgeノード20は、最新設定バージョンを受信すると、RAIDシステム30のLU32から現在の設定バージョンを取得する(図10の(4))。次いで、各Edgeノード20は、取得した設定バージョンと、最新設定バージョンとの比較を行う(図10の(5))。
 本実施例では、Edge-AのEdgeノード20では、設定バージョンが最新でないと判定する一方、Edge-B及びEdge-CのEdgeノード20では、設定バージョンが最新であると判定する。
 次いで、設定バージョンが最新でないと判定したEdgeノード20(図10の例では、Edge-AのEdgeノード20)は、PRS130に対して、プロビジョニング要求を送信する(図10の(6))。
 プロビジョニング要求を受信したPRS130は、RAIDシステム140のLU142からEdge-Aに対する設定情報を取得する(図10の(7))。
 次いで、PRS130は、取得した設定情報を、プロビジョニング要求の要求元のEdgeノード20に送信する(図10の(8))。
 Edge-AのEdgeノード20は、設定情報を受信すると、受信した設定情報に基づいて、ファイルシステム等の設定を行う(図10の(9))。これにより、PRS130に設定されている最新の設定情報に基づいて、Edgeノード20の設定が行われる。その後、設定が完了した場合には、Edgeノード20は、設定が完了した旨の通知(設定完了通知)をPRS130に送信する(図10の(10))。このような処理により、Edge10において、管理者がEdgeノード20を設定する必要がない。また、定期的なレポーティングにより各Edgeノードの状況を把握し、レポーティング情報に基づいてEdgeノードごとに最適な設定を適用できるので、どのEdgeノードに対しても同水準の運用を継続していくことが可能になる。
 図11は、実施例に係るEdgeノードによるプロビジョニング要求処理のフローチャートである。
 Edgeノード(ファイルサーバ)20のプロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、PRS130に対して、プロビジョニング要求を送信する(ステップS11)。ここで、プロビジョニング要求には、Edgeノード20のシリアル番号と、認証トークンが含まれている。なお、認証トークンは、Edgeノード20がPRS130に対して最初にシリアル番号とパスワードを用いて認証した場合に得られている。
 プロビジョニング要求を受信したPRS130は、設定制御処理(図14参照)において、Edgeノード20に対する設定情報を返信することとなる。
 プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、PRS130から返信される設定情報を受信する(ステップS12)。次いで、プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、設定情報に基づいてEdgeノードを設定する処理を実行する(ステップS13)。まず、プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、設定情報に基づいて、ファイルシステムを作成/編集する(ステップS14)。具体的には、プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、設定情報中のファイルシステム名のファイルシステム名であって、設定情報中の容量のファイルシステムを作成/編集する。次に、プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、ファイルシステムの共有を作成/編集する(ステップS15)。具体的には、プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、設定情報中のCIFS共有名、NFS共有名を用いて共有ディレクトリを作成等する。次いで、プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、Core連携の設定を行う(ステップS16)。具体的には、プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、設定情報中のマイグレーションポリシーの設定内容に対応する設定を行う。
 次いで、プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、設定情報に基づいた全ての設定が完了したか否かを判定し(ステップS17)、全ての設定が完了した場合(ステップS17でYes)には、設定完了通知をPRS130に送信し(ステップS18)、処理を終了する。一方、全ての設定が完了していない場合、すなわち、設定失敗である場合又はタイムアウトとなった場合等(ステップS17でNo)には、プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、エラー通知をPRS130に送信し(ステップS19)、処理を終了する。
 図12は、実施例に係るEdgeノードによるレポーティング処理のフローチャートである。
 レポーティング(レポーティング)処理は、例えば、所定の時間毎に実行される。
 Edgeノード20のレポーティングプログラム27は、PRS130に対して、レポーティング情報を送信する(ステップS21)。 レポーティング情報を受信したPRS130は、設定制御処理(図14参照)において、Edgeノード20に対して、最新設定バージョンを返信することとなる。
 レポーティングプログラム27は、PRS130から返信される最新設定バージョンを受信する(ステップS22)。次いで、レポーティングプログラム27は、Edgeノード20の現在の設定バージョンが、受信した最新設定バージョンよりも小さい、すなわち、現在の設定バージョンが古いか否かを判定する(ステップS23)。
 この結果、Edgeノード20の現在の設定バージョンが、受信した最新設定バージョンよりも小さい場合(ステップS23でYes)には、Edgeノード20の設定が最新でないことを意味しているので、プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、PRS130に対して、プロビジョニング要求を送信する(ステップS24)。これにより、PRS130から最新の設定情報を取得することができることとなる。
 このプロビジョニング要求を受信したPRS130は、設定制御処理(図14参照)において、Edgeノード20に対する最新の設定情報を返信することとなる。
 プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、PRS130から返信される設定情報を受信する(ステップS25)。次いで、プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、設定情報に基づいてEdgeノード20を再設定する処理を実行する(ステップS26)。次いで、プロビジョニング要求プログラム26は、設定完了通知をPRS130に送信し(ステップS27)、処理を終了する。これによって、Edgeノード20を最新の設定に再設定することができる。
 一方、Edgeノード20の現在の設定バージョンが、受信した最新設定バージョンよりも小さくない場合(ステップS23でNo)には、Edgeノード20の設定が最新であることを意味しているので、レポーティングプログラム27は、何もせずに処理を終了する。
 図13は、実施例に係るCoreノードによる設定処理のフローチャートである。
 Coreノード110(Coreノード)のCPU111は、PRS130から送信される設定情報を受信する(ステップS31)と、受信した設定情報に基づいてCoreノード110を設定する処理を実行する(ステップS32)。具体的には、例えば、CPU111は、設定情報に基づいて、ファイルシステムのマイグレート先を編集する。
 次いで、CPU111は、設定情報に基づいた全ての設定が完了したか否かを判定し(ステップS33)、全ての設定が完了した場合(ステップS33でYes)には、設定完了通知をPRS130に送信し(ステップS34)、処理を終了する。一方、全ての設定が完了していない場合、すなわち、設定失敗である場合又はタイムアウトとなった場合等(ステップS33でNo)には、CPU111は、エラー通知をPRS130に送信し(ステップS35)、処理を終了する。
 図14は、実施例に係るプロビジョニングサーバによる設定制御処理のフローチャートである。
 PRS130のプロビジョニングプログラム134は、Edgeノード20からの情報を受け付け可能な状態となる(ステップS41)。次いで、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、Edgeノード20から情報を受信する(ステップS42)と、受信した情報がプロビジョニング要求であるか否かを判定する(ステップS43)。
 この結果、受信した情報がプロビジョニング要求である場合(ステップS43でYes)には、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、Edgeノード管理テーブル137を参照し、プロビジョニング要求に含まれるシリアル番号に対応した設定情報を特定して取得する(ステップS44)。次いで、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、Coreノードの再設定が必要であるか否かを判定する(ステップS45)。例えば、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、Edgeノードのファイルシステムの容量が、ファイルシステムのマイグレート先のCoreノードのネームスペースの容量よりも大きくなった場合には、ネームスペースの容量を増加させるためのCoreノードの再設定が必要であると判定する。他にも、Edgeノードで新機能を有効にした場合にCoreノードでもその機能を有効に設定する場合や、Edgeノードを運用停止して初期化する際にCoreノードのテナントやネームスペースの領域を解放する場合などでも、Coreノードの再設定が必要となる。
 この結果、Coreノードの再設定が必要である場合(ステップS45でYes)には、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、Edgeノード20及びCoreノード110のそれぞれの設定情報を生成し(ステップS46)、処理をステップS48に進める。一方、Coreノード110の再設定が必要でない場合(ステップS45でNo)には、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、Edgeノード20の設定情報を生成し(ステップS47)、処理をステップS48に進める。ステップS48では、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、ステップS46又はステップS47で生成した設定情報を設定対象(Edgeノード20及び/又はCoreノード110)へ送信し、処理を終了する。これにより、Edgeノード20及び/又はCoreノード110に対して適切な設定情報を送信して、設定させることができる。
 一方、受信した情報がプロビジョニング要求でない場合(ステップS43でNo)には、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、受信した情報がレポーティング情報であるか否かを判定する(ステップS49)。
 この結果、受信した情報がレポーティング情報である場合(ステップS49でYes)には、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、予め設定されている再設定ポリシーを確認(参照)し(ステップS50)、そのレポーティング情報が有する複数の情報要素と再設定ポリシーとを基に、再設定ポリシー中の1又は複数の条件のうちのいずれかの条件が満たされているか否かを判定する(ステップS51)。ここで、再設定ポリシーについて、条件と、その条件が満たされた場合に行われる処理の組合せの一例としては、例えば下記、
(1)(条件=レポーティング情報中のOSバージョンが、レポーティング情報の送信元Edgeノードが属するEdgeにおける他のEdgeノードのOSのバージョンの方が新しい。):(処理=レポーティング情報の送信元EdgeノードのOSのバージョンが、その送信元Edgeノードが属するEdgeについての最も新しいOSバージョンのOSにアップデートされる。)
(2)(条件=レポーティング情報の送信元Edgeノードのファイルシステムについてハードリミット超えが生じている或いは生じそう。):(処理=レポーティング情報の送信元Edgeノードについて、Quotaの変更、ファイルシステムの容量拡張、又は、スタブ化・重複排除による容量削減が行われる。)
(3)(条件=レポーティング情報の送信元Edgeノードのファイルシステムの容量が、そのファイルシステムのマイグレート先のCoreノードのネームスペースの容量よりも大きくなっている。):(処理=マイグレート先のCoreノードのネームスペースの容量が、レポーティング情報の送信元Edgeノードのファイルシステムの容量よりも拡張される。)、
がある。条件を満足するか否かは、再設定ポリシーと、下記の(A)と、(B)及び(C)のうちの少なくとも1つ、
(A)受信したレポーティング情報、
(B)(A)のレポーティング情報の送信元Edgeノードに関連する他のEdgeノード(例えば同一Edgeに属するEdgeノード)のレポーティング情報及び設定されている設定情報中の少なくとも1つ、
(C)(A)のレポーティング情報の送信元Edgeノードに対応したCoreノード(例えば当該Edgeノードのファイルシステムのマイグレーション先のネームスペースを管理するCoreノード)のレポーティング情報及び設定されている設定情報中の少なくとも1つ、
に基づいて判断することができる。
 判定の結果、条件を満たしているものが存在している場合(ステップS51でYes)には、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、レポーティング情報に基づいて(具体的には、上記(条件)に対応する(処理)に従って)、設定情報を更新し(ステップS52)、処理をステップS53に進める。これにより、設定情報を適切な設定値に調整することができる。ステップS52では、例えば(a)及び(b)のうちの少なくとも1つ、
(a)プロビジョニングプログラム134は、レポーティング情報中の所定項目の値(例えば測定値)に基づいて、レポーティング情報の送信元のEdgeノードに対応した設定情報中の上記所定項目(又は所定項目に関連する他の1以上の項目)に対応した値を変更する。
(b)プロビジョニングプログラム134は、レポーティング情報中の所定項目の値(例えば測定値)に基づいて、レポーティング情報の送信元のEdgeノードを有するEdgeと同一企業又は関連企業に属するEdgeのEdgeノードに対応した設定情報中の上記所定項目(又は所定項目に関連する他の1以上の項目)に対応した値を変更する。
が行われて良い。ステップS52についての具体的な例として、OSバージョンを複数のEdgeノードの中で最新のバージョンに合わせるように、再設定ポリシーを設定していた場合を挙げる。まず、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、比較対象の各Edgeノードのレポーティング情報からOSバージョンの項目の値を比較し、最新のOSバージョンを特定する。そして、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、最新のOSバージョンと現在の設定情報に設定されているOSバージョンが異なる場合は、設定情報のOSバージョンおよび設定バージョンの値を更新する。設定バージョンは設定情報の内容を変更する場合は必ず更新する。この状態でステップS53に進むため、Edgeノードに設定済みの設定情報の設定バージョンと異なる設定バージョンが送信される。これによりEdgeノードからのプロビジョニング要求を誘発できる。S52で更新される設定情報は、レポーティング情報の送信元Edgeノード、その送信元Edgeノードに関連したEdgeノード、及び、その送信元Edgeノードに対応したCoreノードのうちの少なくとも1つに対応した少なくとも1つの設定情報であり、S52での更新後の設定情報は、S51で満たされていると判断された条件に対応した処理が行われるようにするための情報であり、更新後の設定情報のバージョン(つまり最新設定バージョン)のS53での送信先は、その更新後の設定情報に対応したノード(すなわち、レポーティング情報の送信元Edgeノード、その送信元Edgeノードに関連したEdgeノード、及び、その送信元Edgeノードに対応したCoreノードのうちの少なくとも1つ)である。更新後の設定情報それ自体が、その更新後の設定情報に対応したノードに、S53で送信されても良い。
 ここで、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、レポーティング情報に基づいて、記憶領域におけるテナントの使用率を特定し、この使用率に基づいて、設定情報を調整するようにしてもよい。このようにすると、テナントを単位としての設定を適切に調整することができる。
 一方、条件を満たしているものが存在していない場合(ステップS51でNo)には、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、処理をステップS53に進める。ステップS53では、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、最新設定バージョンをEdgeノード20(或いは、最新設定バージョンの設定情報が設定されるべきCoreノード)に送信し、その後処理を終了する。最新設定バージョンをEdgeノード20に送信することにより、レポーティング処理(図12参照)において、必要であれば、設定情報を取得する処理が実行されることとなる。
 なお、ステップS49の結果、要求がレポーティング情報でない場合(ステップS49でNo)には、プロビジョニングプログラム134は、エラー通知をEdgeノード20に送信し(ステップS54)、処理を終了する。
 以上が、一実施例の説明である。以上の説明によれば、下記が導き出される。
 (1:PRSとEdgeで相互に設定権限を持つ)
 PRS130が配信した情報を適用するかどうかの主導権は、PRS130にあるケースとEdgeノードにあるケースがある。
(a)設定反映の主導権がPRS130にあるケース:
Edgeノードへの設定を強制的に行えるので、同じ環境を大量に素早く作成することができる。また、初期設定など設定項目が決まっている場合に、このケースは有効である。
(b)設定反映の主導権がEdgeノードにあるケース:
Edgeノードが設定反映をするかどうか選べるので、Edgeノードの環境に合わせた柔軟な設定が可能である。また、オプション機能の追加やバージョンアップなど、不必要となる設定反映を防ぐことができる。
 例えば、各Edgeの導入時は、上記(a)のケースが採用され、初期設定が行われる。一方、運用時には、上記(b)のケースが採用され、設定反映が行われる。
 また、例えば、設定を即時に反映するとサービスに影響が出る場合等は、ユーザ数の少ない時間帯に設定反映がPRS130によって行われ、次回再起動時に、設定反映等がEdgeノードによって行われても良い。
 また、PRS130が、レポーティング情報中のCPU使用率が所定%以下である場合に設定反映するという設定反映ポリシーを、各Edgeノードに送信することができる。
 また、上記(a)のケースと(b)のケースは柔軟に切り替えることが可能である。なぜなら、PRS130とEdgeノードは、どちらもファイルサーバであるからである。
 (2:Core側での制御)
 例えば、Edgeノードで設定ミスが生じたとしても、Edgeノードからのレポーティング情報から、PRS130が、その設定ミスを検知し、正しい設定情報を、そのEdgeノードに送信して、そのEdgeノードにおいて、正しい設定情報を設定させることができる。
 また、例えば、PRS130が、Edgeノードからのレポーティング情報から、Edgeノードまたはオプション機能の使用期限が切れたことを特定した場合に、そのEdgeノードに送信する設定情報中の値を制御することで、使用期限が切れたEdgeノードやオプション機能を使用を停止させることができる。
 また、例えば、PRS130が、Edgeノードからのレポーティング情報を基に(或いは、Edgeノードから、そのEdgeノードに対応した設定情報中のスケジュール通りにレポーティング情報を受信しない場合に)、工場出荷状態の設定情報をそのEdgeノードに送信することで、そのEdgeノードの設定を工場出荷状態に戻すことができる。
 (3:レポーティング情報の有効利用)
 例えば、PRS130は、レポーティング情報を基に、設定テンプレートを修正することができる。具体的には、例えば、PRS130は、レポーティング情報中の所定項目の値が所定値を超えた場合に、設定テンプレートに、所定項目を細分化する或いは関連項目を追加する等の処理を行うことができる。
 また、例えば、PRS130は、複数のEdgeノードから収集したレポーティング情報から、最適な設定情報を選定して、その設定情報(実施例では最新設定バージョンの設定情報)を他のEdgeノードに適用させることができる。
 また、例えば、PRS130は、同一Edgeノードから受信する複数のレポーティング情報を基に、運用が安定していると判断された場合(例えば、所定回数以上、CPU使用率が適正範囲内に収まっている)、そのEdgeノードに対応する設定情報中のスケジュール(レポーティング間隔)を長くする。一方、PRS130は、運用が不安定であると判断した場合(例えば、所定回数以上、CPU使用率が適正範囲外になった)、そのEdgeノードに対応する設定情報中のスケジュール(レポーティング間隔)を短くする。このような設定を行うことで、レポーティングによるサービスへの影響を抑えることもできる。
 また、例えば、設定反映後にレポーティング情報で不具合が検出された場合に、古い設定バージョンの設定情報をEdgeノードに適用しなおすことで、元の正常状態に戻すこともできる。
 以上、本発明の実施例を説明したが、本発明は、この実施例に限定されるものでなく、その要旨を逸脱しない範囲で種々変更可能であることはいうまでもない。

Claims (13)

  1.  ローカルシステムに存在する複数のローカルファイルサーバと、リモートシステムに存在し前記複数のローカルファイルサーバに接続されたリモートファイルサーバとを有する計算機システムにおいて前記リモートシステムに備えられたサーバであって、
     前記複数のローカルファイルサーバに接続された通信インタフェースデバイスと、
     前記通信インタフェースデバイスに接続されたプロセッサと
    を有し、
     前記プロセッサは、
     環境設定に関する環境設定情報をローカルファイルサーバ毎に記憶している記憶デバイスから、前記複数のローカルファイルサーバのうちの設定先のローカルファイルサーバに対応した環境設定情報を特定し、
     前記特定した環境設定情報を、前記設定先のローカルファイルサーバに送信する、
    環境設定サーバ。
  2.  前記プロセッサは、
     前記複数のローカルファイルサーバの各々から、ローカルファイルサーバの稼働状況を示すレポートを受信し、
     前記レポートの送信元の前記ローカルファイルサーバに、前記記憶デバイスに記憶している環境設定情報のバージョンを通知する
    請求項1に記載の環境設定サーバ。
  3.  前記プロセッサは、
     前記複数のローカルファイルサーバの各々から、ローカルファイルサーバの稼働状況を示すレポートを受信し、
    1以上の条件を含んだポリシーと、下記の(A)と、(B)及び(C)のうちの少なくとも1つと、
    (A)前記受信したレポート、
    (B)(A)のレポートの送信元のローカルファイルサーバに関連するローカルファイルサーバのレポート及び設定されている環境設定情報のうちの少なくとも1つ、
    (C)(A)のレポートの送信元のローカルファイルサーバに対応したリモートファイルサーバのレポート又は設定されている環境設定情報のうちの少なくとも1つ、
    に基づいて、満たされている条件が前記ポリシーに含まれているか否かを判断し、
    その判断の結果が真の場合、満たされている条件に対応する処理が行われるように、(A)のレポートの送信元のローカルファイルサーバ、(A)のレポートの送信元のローカルファイルサーバに関連するローカルファイルサーバ、及び、(A)のレポートの送信元のローカルファイルサーバに対応したリモートファイルサーバのうちの少なくとも1つに対応する環境設定情報を更新し、且つ、更新後の環境設定情報のバージョン又は更新後の環境設定情報を、前記更新後の環境設定情報に対応したサーバに通知する、
    請求項1に記載の環境設定サーバ。
  4.  前記プロセッサは、
     前記レポートに基づいて、前記送信元のローカルファイルサーバ及び前記送信元のローカルファイルサーバに関連するローカルファイルサーバのうちの少なくとも1つについて、前記環境設定情報を更新する
    請求項2に記載の環境設定サーバ。
  5.  前記リモートファイルサーバと同一の計算機に構成されている
    請求項1に記載の環境設定サーバ。
  6.  前記プロセッサは、
     前記ローカルファイルサーバからの前記環境設定情報の送信要求を受信し、
     前記送信要求を受信した場合に、前記送信要求の送信元のローカルファイルサーバに対応する前記環境設定情報を前記ローカルファイルサーバに送信する
    請求項1に記載の環境設定サーバ。
  7.  前記プロセッサは、
     前記レポートに基づいて、前記リモートファイルサーバの設定を変更する
    請求項2に記載の環境設定サーバ。
  8.  前記記憶デバイスは、前記ローカルファイルサーバの環境設定の設定項目を含む設定テンプレートを記憶し、
     前記プロセッサは、
     前記設定テンプレートの設定項目に対する設定値を受け付けて、前記設定テンプレートに前記設定値を反映することで前記環境設定情報を生成し、前記生成した環境設定情報を前記記憶デバイスに格納する
    請求項1に記載の環境設定サーバ。
  9.  前記リモートファイルサーバは、前記ローカルファイルサーバで管理されるファイルがマイグレートされる記憶領域を管理しており、
     前記記憶領域は、1以上の前記ローカルファイルサーバで管理されるファイルのマイグレート先となるサブ記憶領域を含み、
     前記プロセッサは、前記レポートの情報に基づいて、前記記憶領域における前記サブ記憶領域の使用率を特定し、前記使用率に基づいて、前記環境設定情報を調整する
    請求項1に記載の環境設定サーバ。
  10.  複数のローカルファイルサーバを含んだローカルシステムと、
     前記ローカルシステムに接続されており、前記複数のローカルファイルサーバに接続されたリモートファイルサーバと、前記複数のローカルファイルサーバの環境設定を制御する環境設定サーバとを含んだリモートシステムと
    を有し、
     前記環境設定サーバは、
     環境設定に関する環境設定情報をローカルファイルサーバ毎に記憶している記憶デバイスから、前記複数のローカルファイルサーバのうちの設定先のローカルファイルサーバに対応した環境設定情報を特定し、
     前記特定した環境設定情報を、前記設定先のローカルファイルサーバに送信し、
     前記設定先のローカルファイルサーバが、前記環境設定情報を受信し、受信した、環境設定情報に基づく環境設定を行う、
    計算機システム。
  11.  前記複数のローカルファイルサーバの各々は、ローカルファイルサーバの稼働状況を示すレポートを前記環境設定サーバに送信し、
     前記環境設定サーバは、前記レポートを受信し、前記受信したレポートの送信元の前記ローカルファイルサーバに、環境設定情報の最新のバージョンを通知する
    請求項10に記載の計算機システム。
  12.  前記ローカルファイルサーバは、前記ローカルファイルサーの環境設定情報のバージョンが、前記環境設定サーバからの前記最新のバージョンよりも古い場合に、前記最新のバージョンの環境設定情報を前記環境設定サーバに要求する、
    請求項11に記載の計算機システム。
  13.  ローカルシステムに存在する複数のローカルファイルサーバと、リモートシステムに存在し前記複数のローカルファイルサーバに接続されたリモートファイルサーバとを有する計算機システムで行われる環境設定方法であって、
     環境設定に関する環境設定情報をローカルファイルサーバ毎に記憶している記憶デバイスから、前記複数のローカルファイルサーバのうちの設定先のローカルファイルサーバに対応した環境設定情報を特定し、
     前記特定した環境設定情報を、前記設定先のローカルファイルサーバに送信する、
    環境設定方法。
