Abstract
A cutting board (3) which comprises thin sheets (1) of different materials or a combination thereof. The cutting board (3) is glued along the outer rim (2) in order to prevent contamination of the underlying sheets/cutting surfaces (3). One corner (4) is left without glue so that the sheets (1) may be gripped and pulled off. This cutting board (3) is used as a traditional cutting board but with the difference that it, with thin sheets (1), may replace several different cutting boards and/or do not need to be cleaned between different cutting occasions or when a user changes food products on the cutting surface.
Description
PEELABLE CUTTING BOARD
TECHNICAL FIELD
The present invention relates to a cutting board which is made of sheets that are so constructed that a user may tear off one layer at a time and thereby achieve a number of cutting surfaces in a single cutting board.
BACKGROUND
Cutting boards are all manufactured in such a way that a user often need several cutting boards for cutting different food products, alternatively the user must clean the cutting boards between every use and/or when the user switches food products on the cutting surface. Today, loose sheets of different materials are e.g. used to be placed on top of an already existing cutting surface.
JP2012192152 discloses a chopping board sheet with a plurality of layers, wherein the layers are arranged like a notebook. The layers may be ripped off after use as shown in its figures. One disadvantage with this chopping board is that sheets easily may fold and slide during use.
SUMMARY
The present invention solves or at least mitigates the problems with the generally applied technique by having the features which are stated in the following claims. It solves the problems with having several cutting boards or having to clean the same cutting board when either changing the food product or not being able to clean the cutting board. The cutting board is used as a traditional cutting board but with the difference that the cutting board with thin sheets has a condition where a user easily may change the cutting surface by the unglued corner, where the user can grasp the sheets which will be torn off, thereby receiving a new and unused cutting surface.
The cutting board with thin sheets works exactly as a traditional cutting board but with the difference that when a user has used a cutting surface he/she easily tears off it and receives a new clean cutting surface. No loose sheets. This invention is environmentally friendly, since when a cutting board is full of cuts which gather
bacteria it is disposed and replaced by a new one. Instead of purchasing a new one, this invention may replace a cutting board/cutting surface several times with one single cutting board. Furthermore, the sheets may be made of recyclable materials, further increasing the ecological sustainability of the cutting board.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWING
Figure 1 illustrates the joining of sheets of the finished cutting board, the cutting surface, and the corner where a user may grasp every individual sheet to be able to tear it off.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS
The cutting board 3 comprises thin sheets 1 which are joined together by glue along the outer rim 2 of the cutting board 3 in order to prevent contamination of the underlying sheets/cutting surfaces 1, and at the same time provide the cutting board 3 with a stability so that it can be used in the same manner as a traditional cutting board. One corner 4 is left without glue in order to be able to grasp a sheet 1 and tear it off. The sheets 1 may be made of different materials such as cardboard, paper, plastic, wood, glass, porcelain, stone or any combination of these materials.
Claims
1. A cutting board comprising thin sheets, characterized by a number of thin sheets (1) which are joined together along the outer rim (2) of the cutting board (3) by means of glue, wherein one corner (4) is left unglued in order to be able to grasp the sheets (1) for tearing off.
2. The cutting board according to claim 1, wherein the sheets (1) are made of the same material.
3. The cutting board according to claim 1, wherein the sheets (1) are made of different materials.
4. The cutting board according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the material of the sheets (1) are chosen from a group comprising cardboard, paper, plastic, wood, glass, porcelain, stone or any combination of these materials.
