- the second selection unit 34 selects a plurality of unselected previous contact positions (P1 K ⁇ 1 , P2 K ⁇ 1 ) that are the base points of the plurality of prediction ranges (AT1, AT2, AT3). - the electronic device 1 even when there are a plurality of current contact positions in an overlapping region of a plurality of prediction ranges, it is possible to accurately recognize actual finger movements. For example, as shown in FIG. 8B, when a plurality of fingers are moved in the horizontal direction (the direction from the thumb side of the right hand toward the little finger side), there are a plurality of current contact positions in the overlapping regions of the plurality of prediction ranges. there's a possibility that. - the operation (determination) of the identity determination unit 30 when a plurality of current contact positions exist in the overlapping range has been described.
- a plurality of current ranges are included in the overlapping range of the plurality of prediction ranges (areas AC). The same applies to the operation (determination) of the identity determination unit 30 when a contact position exists.

- the detection part 10 may detect the contact position of the finger in other places (including other than the display).
- the detection unit 10 may detect a contact position of a finger on the side surface (grip portion) of the housing.
- the prediction range is calculated based on the contact position of each time until the previous time. For this reason, the predicted range cannot be calculated when the finger first contacts the touch display or when the finger that has been stationary on the touch display starts to move. In this case, it is only necessary to determine the finger identity based only on the distance between the current contact position and the previous contact position without calculating the prediction range. That is, the finger identity may be determined in the same manner as any of the determination methods 1 to 4 without calculating the prediction range. Then, the prediction range may be calculated when the information on the contact position before the previous contact position is obtained.
