Description

A DISPLAY DEVICE
The present invention relates to a display device wherein the cables thereof are provided to be held in an ordered manner.
Display devices such as television, monitor, etc. generally comprise a screen and a neck carrying the screen. In these display devices, cables for HDMI, VGA, USB, Scart, Ethernet, stereo, antenna and power are located at the back of the screen. These cables are situated at different regions at the back of the screen depending on the intended use. The cables hanging free causes the cables to get entangled. For this reason, in the state of the art, various embodiments have been developed to prevent the cables from hanging free.
In the state of the art Korean Patent Application No. KR20090076243 and European Patent Application No. EP0163108, display devices are disclosed, wherein the cables thereof at the back of the screen are held together.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a display device wherein the cables extending from the back of the screen are provided to be held in an ordered manner.
The display device realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises a slot arranged on the neck carrying the screen and through which the cables extending from the back of the screen pass. The slot has side walls close to each other, structured so as to prevent the cables passing therethrough from moving freely. Thus, the cables are prevented from getting entangled. Moreover, when the display device is viewed from the front, the cables cannot be entirely seen.
In an embodiment of the present invention, since the neck is in an inclined form extending towards the back of the screen, the cables hanging from the back of the screen can be placed into the slot at any point along the slot.
In an embodiment of the present invention, a fixing means is provided, that prevents the cables passed through the slot from getting out of the slot. The fixing means can be easily attached to/detached from the slot without requiring any connecting means such as an additional screw.
In an embodiment of the present invention, when the fixing means is mounted to the slot, a portion of the fixing means remains inside the slot. Thus, the fixing means applies pressure on the cable passing through the slot. In the case that more than one cable passes through the slot, the cables apply pressure onto each other.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the length of the fixing means is shorter than the length of the slot. Thus, the fixing means can be mounted to the slot at any point along the slot. Consequently, the point where the cables are embedded into the slot can be determined by the user.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the fixing means has a length almost as much as the length of the slot. Thus, the cables are provided to be completely concealed in the slot.
In an embodiment of the present invention, there is a recess situated on the inner wall of the slot and extending almost all along the slot, and a protrusion situated on the fixing means and entering into the recess while the fixing means is being mounted to the slot. Thus, the fixing means can be moved by being slid along the slot.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the fixing means comprises a skirt situated thereon, one portion of which remains outside the slot and extends over the slot when the fixing means is mounted to the slot. Thus, the user can reach the fixing means from outside of the slot and can detach the fixing means by holding the skirt.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the cable is seated into the housing provided on the fixing means. Consequently, the cable is held tightly on the fixing means.
In an embodiment of the present invention, an opening is arranged on one end of the slot facing downwards. Thus, the cables can extend downwards through the slot. Accordingly, the cables are provided to hang downwards in a vertical plane.
In another embodiment of the present invention, two separate slots are arranged on the neck. The cables can be grouped and passed through the desired slot. The slots are positioned in parallel to each other in the same vertical plane.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the fixing means is produced from elastic material. The fixing means being flexible facilitates the process of attaching/detaching the fixing means to/from the slot. The structure of the fixing means changes while being mounted to the slot and after being detached from the slot the fixing means returns to its initial position before being mounted to the slot.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the fixing means is U- or V-shaped. The fixing means has two open ends and furthermore a base applying pressure onto the cables. While the fixing means is being mounted to the slot, the two ends thereof can be easily grasped by the user and the two ends can be stretched towards each other.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the slot can be produced from aluminum material so that the wall thickness thereof can be thinner thanks to the strength properties of the material.
In an embodiment of the present invention, at least one half moon-shaped holder is situated at the back of the screen. The cables at the back of the screen pass through the said holder. Thus, the cables are enabled to hang from the screen towards the neck in a more ordered manner.
By means of the present invention, the cables at the back of the display device cannot be seen by the user when viewed from the front. Moreover, by means of the present invention, the cables are partially concealed inside the slot along the neck without requiring any additional holders and the cables are prevented from getting entangled thanks to the slot structure. Additionally, the user is enabled to fix the cables at any desired point along the slot on the neck.
