Description

METHOD OF MODIFYING THE PERFORMANCE OF THE
TELEINFORMATION SYSTEM, ESPECIALLY GENERATING
RESPONSES OF THE TELEINFORMATION SYSTEM AFTER INITIATING THE ACTION BY THE OBJECT IN THE TELEINFORMATION NETWORK AND APPLYING THIS METOD OF MODIFYING
The subject of the invention is the method of modifying the performance of the teleinformation system, especially generating response of the teleinformation system after initiating the action by the object in the teleinformation network by the GSM, USSD, SMS, WAP channel or other available to the object. The subject of the invention is also application of the method of modifying the permormance of the teleinformation system using the data transmission by USSD channels and other channels in the prevention-alarm system.
USSD service (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) of the GSM standard, which permits quick communication between the mobile device, especially a mobile phone, and an application located at the OS operator of the network, is generally known. Contrary to messages like SMS, the USSD service is oriented towards the session and permits it to happen in the real time mode. Every established session permits sequential, quick data exchange between the two sides of a session. The USSD service looks similar to WAP and SMS but it guarantees immediate content delivery, at low costs and easy is to use, even in the Roaming mode. The USSD service is available in 90% of the world GSM networks and on all G2 mobile phones and newer present on the market, and currently is becoming an ideal channel for data exchange for applications such as the market of mobile applications, applications for banking institutions, entertainment institutions and such services which require some interaction between the mobile phone's user and the application on the service provider's side. It enables a simple and fast method of access to the services offered by the network operator, without the need to explore the mobile phone menu because a USSD message can be created and sent from the main menu of the screen. The USSD service has the interface to communicate with the MSC and SS7, and one USSD message can contain up to 182 alphanumeric characters. Because it is a session service, that is the data transmission between the sender and receiver happens within one session, the time period between the request sent from one side of the session and the response of the other side is shortened in comparison to the solutions based on the messages of an SMS type. USSD type messages are not stored in the mobile phone of the end user and therefore they cannot be reread or reused. It is a very significant trait for the banking services where the emphasis is on the security of the client's authentication process. The USSD service acts in two modes: pull mode, where the session is initiated by the mobile device, and push mode, where the session is initiated by the network.
The USSD service is supported by the WAP, SIM Application Toolkit and CAMEL services, thanks to which the range of applications in which it can be used is very wide. USSD messages are sent by the HLR (Home Location Register) belonging to the OS operator network, to which the end subscriber belongs. Thanks to that, the services based on USSD work in the same way whether or not the subscriber uses the roaming service.
The USSD service can be used in two modes: the MMI mode (Man- Machine Interface) or the application mode. The MMI mode allows the transparent transmission the sequence of MMI characters sent to the network by the user of a mobile device and transparent transmission the sequence of text characters from the network to the user, which will be displayed on the screen of their mobile device. When the user enters, using the keyboard, the sequence of characters, which can be treated as a USSD call, and usually it is a sequence of characters ended with '#', and presses the button initiating the call, instead of routing the call, a USSD operation containing the entered characters will be sent to the network. Suitable network elements, responsible for processing this information, will perform the action connected with it and (optionally) will return the information to the user, which will then be displayed on the display of the mobile phone. Such an operation is a query, sent to the network operator by the phone's user, about the available balance (of money or minutes) on the user's account. The network operator, offering a given phone in the subscription, supplies it with an appropriate application, which will be using a limited number of USSD codes specific to the network.
An example of the structure of a USSD call: *<service code>#, <service coJe>parameters# or ##<service code>#.
Some service codes are defined in the 3GPP specification. They can be used by the user to control complimentary services offered by the GSM/UMTS services, e.g. calling line identification restriction. However, most service codes are defined by the network operator and the services defined by some codes are paid. A subscriber in the network of a specified GSM/UMTS operator can use only the service codes imposed by the operator or, with additional fee, use the USSD service available in a different network.
The application mode allows transparent transmission of data between the application of the USSD system and a suitable application found on the user's mobile device.
Services of the USSD service are applicable in: data transmission channels for the wireless communication WAP (Wireless Application Protocol), geolocation services, banking services in the authentication process, in the services offered by the network operator, such as checking the Prepaid balance, activating and deactivating additional services, in the services offered within the Sim Application Toolkit.
In the case of initiating by the mobile device user a session of the USSD service according to the application determined by the access network operator, USSR requests (UnstructuredSS-Request) are processed on the subsequent devices of the teleinformation network. For the USSD communication between the mobile phone and the MSC (Mobile Switching Centre), DTAP protocol is used (Direct Transfer Application Part) described in the specification 3GPP TS 24.08. The MSC and the VLR (Visitor Location Register) are usually implemented in one network element, so the information exchange between them is the question of internal communication in this element. Sending operations between the VLR and the HLR (Home Location Register) happens on the basis of MAP protocol (Mobile Application Part). 3 GPP TS 29.02. specification of the HLR also uses this protocol for the subsequent transmission of USSD operations to external applications. If the service code used in a USSD operation is from the range of 100-149, the VLR will send this operation to the HLR storing the user's data, user who initiated it, but if the service code used in the USSD operation is from the range of 150-199, it will be supported by the application in the MSC/VLR. If the USSD operation is to be processed by the MSC/VLR (the second case), but the service code used there will not be recognised, the information about the error will be sent to the phone. If the used service code is defined in the MSC/VLR, a suitable application will start processing the operation. If the USSD operation is sent to the HLR and the analysis will show that the operation should be processed by the HLR, then the suitable application in this network element will take control over processing this operation. Thanks to CAMEL technology, it is possible to send the USSD operation from the HLR to the external application. On the routing board of the given service code it is possible to find information that the operation should be sent to a different network element, with the address of this element. Most frequently the element is Service Control Point, on which services working on the basis of intelligent networks (prepaid) are turned on. These can be also other external databases or application servers on the Internet.
The user calls a suitable USSD operation by entering a sequence of MMI characters, which makes a USSD message, on the main screen of the mobile device. The mobile device after recognising the sequence of characters, starts the USSD session by sending the USSD request to the MSC and awaits the response. The moment it receives the response through the mobile device, the response is presented to the user or transmitted to the application on the mobile device. While awaiting the response, the mobile device can receive from the network additional requests or USSD notifications.
The moment the MSC device receives a USSR request containing HPLMN service code, it makes a connection with the VLR and transfers to it the USSR request in an unchanged form. In case the MSC is not able to transfer the USSR request to the VLR, then the information about the error is sent to the mobile device. The moment the request has been correctly transferred to the VLR, the MSC device becomes transparent for the communication between the mobile device and the VLR. In case the USSR request received by the MSC does not contain an HPLMN service code, it will be processed locally within the MSC, and if the request cannot be processed by the MSC, it will be further sent to the VLR, just as happens if a USSR request contains an HPLMN service code. The moment the VLR receives the USSR request containing an HPLMN service code and the profile of the mobile device user is not in the HPLMN database, the VLR connects with the HLR and transfers the request to it in an unchanged form. In case the VLR is unable to transfer the request to the HLR then the information about the error is sent to the mobile device. The moment the request has been properly transferred to the HLR, the VLR device becomes transparent for the communication between the MSC and the HLR. In case the USSR request received by the VLR does not contain an HPLMN service code or the profile of the user of the mobile device exists in the HPLMN base then it will be processed locally within the VLR, and if the request cannot be processed by the VLR it will be further sent to the HLR like in the case if the request contained an HPLMN service code.
The USSR request received by the HLR is always processed locally. In case the request cannot be processed by the HLR then the mobile device is informed about that fact and the session is interrupted. In case the USSR request is to be processed locally, by the MCS, VLR or HLR device, it is transferred to a suitable USSD application, which can transfer if to another device in the network, generate other requests or USSD notifications or request other information from the mobile device which started the session.
The method of starting the transmission in the USSD session by the user happens according to the procedure described below:
1. The user through the mobile device sends to the network a USSR request of the USSD service in the form of the message type REGISTER.
2. The device on the OS operator's side of the network, which received the messages form the mobile device of the user, transfers the data received in the message to the application, which is to process operations of the USSD type and awaits the response from the application. The USSD application can interrupt the session or can request to be sent another data in order to fulfil the request received from the user of the mobile device.
3. In case the USSD application processing the USSD operation requests being sent subsequent data, the computer in the network initiates the request, which will be transferred to the mobile device.
4. The mobile device has to return the response to the network, in the message type FACILITY, which in turn is transferred to the application processing USSD operations. In case the mobile device is unable to process the request sent from the network, it should send back the error identifier, in the message type FACILITY, wherein the actions from points 3 and 4 can be repeated multiple times.
5. Ending the session with the use of the USSD operation can be initiated both by the mobile device by the user's request and by the computer in the network, using the message type RELEASE COMPONENT containing return information.
6. In case the computer in the network is unable to process the USSD request through the USSD application, then it interrupts the session and sends back the message type RELEASE COMPONENT containing the information about the error.
The method of initiating a USSD session by the computer in the network happens according to the following procedure:
MSC, VLR, HLR devices can initiate the session and send a request or a USSD notification to the mobile device at any time.
The moment the USSD application installed on the computer wants to send a USSR request of the USSD service or a USSD notification to the mobile device, it should make a connection with the VLR server, in which the user is currently registered, and send the operation to the VLR server. The HLR is responsible for controlling the established connection and because of that it can end the session the moment it receives a response or the moment when the wait for the response has exceeded a given value and the response from the VLR did not appear. If the USSD application wants to make additional operations on the same mobile device within the same session, it can be done until they are all finished. If the established connection is finished by the VLR, then the HLR will inform in an appropriate way the USSD application about ending the session.
The moment the VLR receives a USSR request of the USSD service or a USSD notification from the HLR and the user is in the VLR base, it makes a connection with the MSC and transfers the operation in an unchanged form to the MSC. The moment the operation has been correctly transferred to the MSC, the VLR device becomes transparent for the communication between the MSC and the HLR. In case the session between the MSC and the VLR has finished, the session between the VLR and the HLR is ended as well.
The moment the USSD application wants to send a USSR request or a USSD notification to the mobile device, it should make a connection with the MSC, in which the user is currently registered and send the operation to the MSC. The VLR is responsible for controlling the established connection and because of that it can end the session the moment it receives a response or the moment when the wait for the response exceeded a given value and the response from the MSC did not appear. In case the USSD application wants to make additional operations on the same mobile device within the same session, it can be done until they are all finished. If the established connection is finished by the MSC, then the VLR will inform in an appropriate way the USSD application about ending the session.
The moment the MSC receives a USSR request or a USSD notification from the VLR and the user is in the MSC base, it makes a connection with the mobile device and transfers the operation in an unchanged form to it. The moment the operation has been properly transferred to the mobile device, the MSC becomes transparent for the communication between the VLR and the mobile device. In case the session between the mobile device and the MSC is finished, the session between the MSC and the VLR is ended as well.
The moment the USSD application wants to send a USSR request or USSD notification to the mobile device, it should make a connection with the mobile device, in which the user is currently registered and send the operation to the mobile device. The MSC is responsible for controlling the established connection and because of that it can end the session the moment it receives a response or the moment when the wait for the response has exceeded a given value and the response from the mobile device did not appear. In case the USSD application wants to make additional operations on the same mobile device within the same session, it can be done until they are all finished. If the established connection is ended by the mobile device, then the MSC will inform in an appropriate way the USSD application about ending the session.
In case the mobile device is able to accept the USSD operation from the MSC, it processes it depending on the type of encryption of the the data sent: in the MMI mode or in the application mode. In case the operation is in MMI mode then the mobile device will behave in two ways: if the sent USSD operation is a USSR request then a question to the user will be displayed on the screen of the mobile device; if the user enters the data, they will be sent in the form of a response to the MSC, and in case of ignoring the request by the user, the session is ended by the mobile device; if the sent USSD operation is a USSD notification, then the mobile device will display the received information on the screen and send back the response to the MSC.
For the application mode the mobile device will behave in the following way: if the sent USSD operation is a USSR request then the mobile device will transfer it to an appropriate application in one of the three domains: MT (Mobile Termination), TE (Terminal Equipment) or SIM (GSM Subscriber Identity Module), and the application will either generate a response which will be transferred to the MSC, or will close the connection with the MSC, and if the USSD is a USSD notification then the mobile device will transfer it to the appropriate application in one of the three domains MT, TE or SIM, and after that it will send the response back to the MSC and will await the termination of the connection or for the consecutive operations which are to come from the MSC.
It is possible to initiate the USSD session initiated from every object (HLR, VLR, MSC) of the network separately. In this example during the session a USSR request is sent from the objects: the HLR, the VLR and the MSC. The mobile device after receiving the USSR request sends back the USSD response: if the USSD session has been initiated by the HLR, the response will go to the HLR through VLR and MSC. Depending on which object initiated the session, after receiving the USSD response it will generate the request to end the USSD session.
It is also possible to predict starting the USSD session initiated by the HLR object. In this case during the session the USSR request is sent from the HLR object. The mobile device after receiving the USSR request sends the response back to the USSD I. Next, the HLR object can again generate next USSR requests within the same USSD session. The HLR object, after receiving the USSD response will generate the request to end the USSD session.
While sending the USSR request from the computer in the network the procedure follows a little different scheme:
1. The network sends a USSR request of the REGISTER type to the mobile device of the user.
2. The mobile device answers the request by sending the message type FACILITY, which contains the result of the call. The network transfers the data received in the message to the application, whose task is to process operations of the USSD type and awaits the response from the application. The USSD application can interrupt the session or continue it.
3. In case the USSD application continues the session then it can perform next USSD operations by sending the message type FACILITY. The operations can be of a USSD request type or a USSD notification.
4. The termination of the session with the use of a USSD operation can be initiated both by the mobile device by the user's request and by the computer in the network, using the message type RELEASE COMPONENT
5. In case the mobile device is unable to process the USSD request sent from the network, then it sends back the message type FACILITY containing the information about the error.
6. In case the mobile device received the USSD operation while other sessions of USSD type have been initiated, then it responds with the message type RELEASE COMPLETE containing the information about the error.
While sending the USSD notification from the network:
1. The network sends a USSD notification (unstructuredSS-Notify) by sending the message type REGISTER to the mobile device.
2. The Mobile Device can confirm the operation by sending an empty message type FACILITY.
3. The USSD application after receiving the response from the Mobile Device can continue the session or interrupt it. When the decision is to continue the session, the USSD Application can initiate subsequent USSD operations by sending a message type FACILITY. USSD operations in this case can be USSD Requests and USSD Notifications.
4. Terminating the session with the use of USSD operations can be initiated both by the Mobile Device by the user's request and by the Network (with the use of the message type RELEASE COMPONENT).
5. If the mobile device is unable to process the USSD Notification sent from the Network then it sends back the message type FACILITY containing the information about the error.
6. In case the Mobile Device received the USSD operation while other sessions of USSD type have been made, then it responds with the message type RELEASE COMPLETE containing the information about the error.
An equally fast information transfer like in USSD channel is transmitting SMS information encrypted in the format of so-called class 0. GSM mobile phones make it possible to send SMS messages coded in class 2. and the notifications from the network operators directed to their subscribers are often coded in class 0. Some phone makes make it possible to send messages in class 0 by using special software directly from the menu, and the function is called Flash SMS. There are the following classes of encrypting:
class 0 (immediate display), where the message is displayed immediately on the phone's display;
- class 1 (store in MS memory), where the message, after being displayed, can be stored in the phone's memory;
- class 2 (store in SIM card memory), where the message, after being displayed, can be stored in the SIM card memory of the phone;
- class 3 (store in equipment memory), where the message, after being displayed, can be stored by an external device;
The length of the message with GSM7 coding is 182 characters, and messages coded in UCS2 have the maximum of 66 characters.
The technology usually called "Direct-to-SMSC" is also known, whose performance depends on using a separate application which connects directly with the SMSC of the mobile network operator. When sending an e-mail message it is converted to the SMPP protocol and later delivered to the addressee in the form of an SMS message or an email.
In wireless communication systems there are four kinds of forwarding calls services: unconditional forwarding, forwarding when the call recipient is busy, forwarding when the recipient does not reply to the connection attempt, forwarding when the recipient in unavailable.
The service of unconditional forwarding allows forwarding the incoming calls no matter if the caller is out of range, does answer the incoming call or is busy. Forwarding can be configured by two parameters:
the possibility of deciding if the caller receives the information that the call has been forwarded or the possibility of giving to the user, to whom the connection has been forwarded, information about the MSISDN of the user from which the forwarding has been made. The service is registered by giving the number to which the connections are to be forwarded and the information if all the calls are to be forwarded or maybe only one or more groups of basic services, e.g. voice call, data connection or faxes. If the service of unconditional forwarding is active, incoming calls are forwarded without informing the user about that.
The service of forwarding the calls when the recipient of the call is busy allows forwarding the incoming calls in two cases: the user (recipient) has a different call at the same time and that is why another one cannot be made {Network Determined User Busy - NDUB) or while the Network is trying to make a connection with the user, he/she rejects the request {User Determined User Busy - UDUB). Forwarding can be configured with the help of three parameters: informing the calling user that the call has been forwarded, the possibility of informing the user to whom the call has been directed about the MSISDN number of the user from which the forwarding has been made, or informing the user, who activated the service of call forwarding that the connection has been forwarded. The service is registered by giving the number to which the connections are to be forwarded and the information if all the calls are to be forwarded or maybe one or more groups of basic services, e.g. voice call, data connection or faxes.
In case the service of forwarding the calls when the recipient of the call is busy is active, the incoming call for the chosen group of basic services by the user during the registration in forwarding service, then the call will be forwarded. The situation takes place both in the case of NDUB and UDUB. If during the registration of the forwarding service the user chose such an option, they will be informed that the call has been forwarded from their number to the number chosen during the service registration. Depending on the forwarding option, chosen during the service registration, the user to whom the call has been forwarded can be given the MSISDN number of the user from which the forwarding has been made and in case the forwarding consists of many forwardings, then the number of the last user from which the forwarding has been made.
The service of forwarding calls when the recipient of the call does not reply to the connection attempt allows forwarding: all the incoming calls or the calls associated with the specific groups of basic services. Forwarding can be configured with the help of three parameters: informing the calling user that the call has been forwarded, the possibility of informing the user to whom the call has been forwarded about the MSISDN number of the user from which the forwarding has been made, or informing the user, who activated the forwarding service, that the connection has been forwarded. The service is registered by giving the number to which the connections are to be forwarded, the information if all the calls are to be forwarded for one or more groups of basic services, e.g. voice call, data connection or faxes, time after which the call is to be forwarded in case the user does not answer.
If the service of forwarding the calls when the recipient of the call does not answer the call is active, then the incoming call for the chosen group of basic services by the user during the registration in the forwarding service will be forwarded. If during the registration of the forwarding service the user set the option they will be informed that the call has been forwarded from their number to the number chosen during the service registration. Depending on the forwarding option chosen during the service registration the user to whom the call has been forwarded can be given the MSISDN number of the user to which the forwarding has been made and if the forwarding consists of many forwardings then the number of the last user from which the forwarding has been made.
The service of forwarding calls when the recipient of the call is unavailable allows forwarding: all the incoming calls or the calls connected with the specific group of basic services. Forwarding can be configured with the help of two parameters: informing the calling user that the call has been forwarded or informing the user to whom the call has been forwarded about the MSISDN number of the user from which the call has been made. The service is registered by giving the number to which the connections are to be forwarded and the information if all the calls are to be forwarded for one or more groups of basic services, e.g. voice call, data connection or faxes. If the service of forwarding calls when the recipient of the call is unavailable is active, then the incoming call for the chosen by the user group of basic services during the registration in the forwarding service will be redirected. If during the registration of the forwarding service the user set such an option, they will be informed that the call has been forwarded from their number to the number chosen during the service registration. Depending on the forwarding option, chosen during the registration, the user to whom the call has been forwarded can be given the MSISDN number of the user, from which the forwarding has been made and in case when the forwarding consists of many forwarding then the number of the last user from which the forwarding has been made.
From the Polish patent description P.357403 we know of the way of making payments using the phone and USSD codes. The transaction is made with the use of USSD commands in such a way that the buyer enters in the appropriate format from the keyboard of the phone the service code of the USSD service, and this action makes the telecommunication operator route the special session between the device of the buyer and the application of the USSD service operator, during which all the necessary information to make the transaction is given by the buyer. After the data verification the application of the service operator sends confirmation of the transaction to the phone of the buyer and the seller's terminal, which in the case of transaction acceptance will cause the discharge of the money from the buyer's account and transferring it to the seller's account.
In the Polish application description P.382732 a structure of wireless notification of violation detection is presented, which consists of at least one transmitting module and transceiving module. Transmitting modules are preferably placed in locks and chosen fragments of doors, windows and entrance gates, and the transceiving module is located in the sphere where the signals transmitted by the transmitting modules are correctly received. Electric signals, appearing on the exits of the violation detectors and/or identifiers of the key, are processed in the violation analyser and a coder, and later emitted by the radio transmitter to the radio. The data about the violation contained in the received electric signals are identified in the identifier and later sent through the driver to the signalling equipment and through the coder formatting data to the GSM transmitter. Setting the driver and the criteria of the identifier's identification are modified by the signals which the user of the protected object sends to them through the GSM receiver and the distributor. In the description the application of the wireless structure of notifying of violation detection, described above, in one- storey and multi-storey buildings, has been revealed.
The aim of the invention is to prepare the method of individualised use of the USSD service services and setting the teleinformation system performance to the specific time, particularly for the quick data transfer by the teleinformation system in case of alarm or danger and its system application.
The essence of the invention is that the server servicing USSD services, in whose database the subscriber, anticipating, by any of the channels available to them, sets in their own account individualised action of the teleinformation system in the given time, preferably sets the action of the teleinformation system after calling out an account by the object and/or enters the response text of the teleinformation system, activates this action and/or transfer of the response by the USSD channel to at least one object of the network set by the subscriber. The server in the database, after initiating action by the object, saves on the account of the subscriber the data about the object's performance. After initiating the connection with the number of the subscriber's phone by the object, preferably the user of the GSM network, from the database information about the user is downloaded and about other devices, which are periodically associated by the subscriber with the number, their status, imposed by the subscriber, is checked and to the user by the USSD channel the data are sent or the content of the response in the form of saved in the account. Optionally, the server, following the schedule saved by the subscriber in the account initiates the actions through the USSD channels in regard to the objects, sends through the USSD channel the information about these actions to the subscriber and/or saves in the account the data reporting the actions of the objects. Optionally, the server receiving the call, preferably wirelessly by the USSD channel, from at least one alarm module of the subscriber, takes actions saved in the database in the account, wherein preferably the information about the work of the alarm modules is sent through the USSD channel to the subscriber's phone.
The application of the method according to the invention means that the dispatcher to the account of the supervisor, in the database of the server operating the system USSD services, assigns data about the patrols' transceivers and objects while with the timed exclusion of the patrol from disposal on the account by the dispatcher the data change happens, after which the recount of the simulated location of the patrols happens and the server sends the new data through the available USSD channels to the of the patrols' transceivers.
The beneficial trait of the solution according to the method is the possibility of quick changes of the subscriber's status through any channel of the teleinformation network, with connecting many devices to one subscriber's account and almost immediate data transmission to the chosen addressee.
The subject of the invention is presented in the picture, where Fig.l shows the infrastructure of the teleinformation network supporting the USSD service, Fig. 2 shows the use of the USSD channel while initiating the action by the SMS channel to set the subscriber's status in the database, Fig. 3 shows the system using the USSD channels.
The method according to the invention, after initiating the action by the object in the teleinformation network by the channel available to the object, which according to the protocols of the given channel is transmitted to different objects of the network and the server supporting the client with the USSD server's services linked with the database, means that the server HERMESS supporting the USSD services, in whose database DB the subscriber Aj anticipating, by any of the channels available to them sets in their own account C individualised action of the teleinformation system TS in the specified time, sets the action of the teleinformation system TS after calling out the account C by the object O and/or enters the response content R of the teleinformation system TS, activates this action and/or transmission of the response by the USSD channel to at least one object Oi of the network set by the subscriber A. The server HERMESS in the database DB, after initiating action by the object O, saves in the account C of the subscriber A the data about the object's O performance. After initiating the connection with the MSISDN number of the subscriber's phone A by the object O2, preferably the user U of the GSM network, from the database DB the information about the user U is downloaded and about the other devices, which are periodically associated by the subscriber A with the MSISDN number, their imposed by the subscriber A_ status is checked and to the user U by the USSD channel the data are sent or the content of the response R in the form saved in the account C. If the server HERMESS. following the schedule saved by the subscriber A in the account C initiates on their own the actions through the USSD channels in regard to the objects Oi. O2, sends through the USSD channel the information about these actions to the subscriber A and/or saves in the account C the data reporting the actions of the objects Oi, O^, Oj. Optionally, the server HERMESS receiving the call-in, preferably wirelessly by the USSD channel, from at least one alarm module AMi, AM2 of the subscriber A, takes actions in the database DB on the account Cj wherein preferably the information about the work of the alarm modules AMi, AM2 is sent through the USSD channel to the subscriber's phone A.
The application of the method in the prevention-alarm system, in which to the dimensional and surface objects are assigned patrols with the transceivers, allows the dispatcher D to the account of the supervisor DD, in the database DB of the server HERMESS supporting the system USSD services, to assign the data about the transceivers of patrols Pi, P2, Pa and controlled objects. The periodical exclusion of the patrol P_L from disposal, for example after transferring the patrol Pi to action, on the account DD by the dispatcher D the data change happens, and after that the recount of the simulated location of the patrols Pi, P2, Pa happens and the server HERMESS sends the new data through the available USSD channels to the transceivers of the patrols Pi, P2, Pa.
The method has been practically used in the computer system connected with the HERMESS server to the teleinformation network, thus from now on it will be called Hermess.
Hermess system consists of three main components. These are:
- Hermess Core, application which is the centre of the system. This component manages the work of the whole system, database of the subscribers, interaction with the applications and external services.
- Hermess DB, database containing all the data for every registered subscriber A;
- Hermess API, the collection of interfaces which permits the communication of the system and other open-access and dedicated to this system applications or services such as: calendars: MS Outlook, Google Calendar, Apple iCal; application for mobile devices for the systems: Windows Phone 7, Android, iOS; SMS gateway; Internet application of the system, Internet communicators.
The Hermess system has an interface which permits the communication with the SMSC gate of the telecommunication operator in order to send the calling user a message containing the status set by the subscriber A of the Hermess system. The interface can be also used by the subscriber A to manage their account C and doing such activities as activating a service in the Hermess system, which is the same as creating the user account C of the subscriber A in the system, deactivating a service, in the Hermess service, which is the same as deleting the account C of the subscriber A from the Hermess account, deleting the old one and generating a new password to the account C of the subscriber A, turning off the status, checking the currently set status, setting the status, which will be sent to the users trying to make a connection with the subscriber A. According to the method, setting the concrete status for the established by the subscriber A time is possible.
The Hermess system makes available among other things: an interface for the internet application thanks to which the subscriber A has a possibility to manage their account from the level of the Internet browser. From the level of this interface the subscriber A is able to make some actions associated with managing their account C in the Hermess system. The method was realised with enabling subscriber A: independent activation of statuses for a period of defined time, deactivation of the currently set statuses, browsing the history of the lately used statuses, activation of a business card, which is sent to the users trying to make a connection with the subscriber A of the Hermess system always when no status is set, the access password change to the account C of the subscriber A, turning on/off advanced service of contacts registered in the account C of the subscriber A, managing the synchronisation of account C of the subscriber A with the application of the user's calendar (e.g. MS Outlook, Google Calendar, iCal).
The subscriber A can also manage their account C in the Hermess system with the use of a suitable application on the mobile devices. In this case the same interface is used as in the Internet application. The Hermess system allows the subscriber to synchronise their account C with the application of the calendar (MS Outlook, Google Calendar, iCal). The synchronisation concerns the status content and the time when it is to be active. Thanks to this functionality, the Hermess system can automatically change statuses in given times according to the plan in the calendar.
In the system with the HERMESS server realising the method according to the invention, suitably configured services of forwarding the calls are used, made available by any network operator, defined in the 3GPP specification. The moment the user registers in the system with the HERMESS server, the service of forwarding the calls is automatically configured so that the calls are forwarded to the MSISDN number of the system with the HERMESS server.
After the successful registration of the user of the method, they, now as the subscriber A, have the possibility to configure the service depending on their needs. There are the following options which can be configured: defining the situation in which the status set by the subscriber A is to be sent to the user U trying to make a call, and these are: every time when there is an attempt to call the subscriber A of the system or the moment when there is a call attempt with the subscriber A, who in that moment is busy, that is in the given moment another call is being made or the moment when the subscriber A does not answer the attempt to make a connection and it is possible to define the period of time after which the attempt is rejected and the status set on the account C is rejected by the subscriber A, or the moment when the subscriber A is unavailable while attempting to contact him or the phone numbers of the users U, to whom the set status should be presented.
Interaction of the Hermess system with the user U attempting to call the subscriber A is dependent on how it was configured. The following scenario shows the general scheme of action.
The user of the teleinformation system TS attempts to make a connection with the subscriber A of the Hermess system. Depending on how the forwarding service has been configured, the attempt may be forwarded to the subscriber A in case the service has been configured so that the forwarding happens only after the subscriber A does not reply to the connection attempt or is forwarded immediately to the HERMESS server in the teleinformation system TS. After forwarding the call to the Hermess system (through the Hermess Core) it is checked: if and what status has been set for the subscriber A. To do this, the data saved on the account C of the subscriber A in the database DB are checked. In case the subscriber A has set the status on his account C and the user U attempting to make a call is on the list of contacts to which the information about the status should be sent, the HERMESS server sends the USSD notification using the USSD gateway.
If no status has been set then to the user U attempting to make a call to the subscriber A, a business card is sent, defined by the subscriber A also in the form of a USSD notification.
The application of the method in the prevention-alarm system, in which to the dimensional and surface objects are assigned patrols with the transceivers, allows the dispatcher D to the account of the supervisor DP, in the database DB of the server HERMESS operating the system USSD services, assign the data about the transceivers of patrols Pi, P2, Pa and controlled objects. The periodical exclusion of the patrol Pi engaged in a rescue action, from disposal by the dispatcher D on the account DP the data change happens. In the teleinformation system there is the count of the simulated location of the patrols Pi, P2, P3 with the "ABSORBED" status for the Pi patrol and the server HERMESS sends the new data through the available USSD channels to the transceivers of the patrols Pi. P2.
Pi
After returning the patrol Pi to the supervisor's disposal, the next changes are entered into the account DD in the database DB and the HERMESS server sends new data by the available USSD channels to the transceivers of the patrols Pi, P2, Pa and makes records on the DD account.
The next example of the application of the method according to the invention is the supervision system over the cathode protection of the underground petrol containers, especially in petrol stations. In petrol stations cathode protection signallers are installed which in the cases when there is a danger of the spill, signal the danger by changing the colour of the diode placed near the container. Because of rare signal changes, the stations' staff do not check this signalisation. Connecting to the protection signaller the automatic transceiver enables wireless communication with the teleinformation system equipped with the HERMESS server, which will initiate the action of the telecommunication system and will alert the supervision worker using the USSD channel that there is a need to got to the station. It will be noted in the database and also the change of the signaller's state after being fixed will be noted in the account in the database for the object and the supervision worker and the information about these events will be sent to the owner of the station in order to settle the financial matters.
Realisation of the method according to the invention is also an alternative to the voice mail services offered currently by network operators and permits informing the users trying to make a call with the subscriber A about the reason why they cannot take the call. The user initiating the connection with the subscriber A can receive predefined by him information about the reason why the attempt has been rejected. This information is the subscriber A's status, which in any given moment can be changed by using one of many interfaces of the system. The system uses the services of the USSD service and forwarding incoming calls.
