Abstract

A container (10) comprises an outer shell (18) made from a paperboard or plastics material, the shell having a base (24), a side wall (26) and an opening (34); an inner lining (20) comprising a thin sheet (36) of plastics material, a first part of the lining being adhered to an internal surface (22) of the base and side wall of the shell by a suitable adhesive, and a second part of the lining conforming to a part of an external surface of the shell around the opening; and a handle assembly comprising an elongate handle (16) and an attachment plate (64) secured to each end of the handle, wherein at least a part of each attachment plate is secured to the second part of the lining on opposing sides of the opening and, in use, the lining and handle assembly are fully separable from the shell by peeling the lining away from the external and internal surfaces of the shell.
