Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé et un système permettant d'estimer une consommation d'énergie d'une population de service public, lequel procédé consiste à organiser ladite population de service public comprenant des consommateurs d'énergie en une pluralité de groupes. Une distribution de la consommation d'énergie par rapport à la pluralité de groupes peut ensuite être calculée. Par la suite, des groupes statistiquement représentatifs sur la base de la distribution d'énergie et de la pluralité de groupes peuvent être déterminés. Des données sont ensuite recueillies en provenance des groupes statistiquement représentatifs à des intervalles prédéfinis à partir d'un réseau de communication. Une consommation d'énergie de la population de service public peut ensuite être estimée sur la base des données recueillies en provenance des groupes statistiquement représentatifs. Le réseau de communication comprend un réseau d'infrastructure de mesurage avancée (AMI).
