Abstract

A system and method for providing free or low cost remote virtual desktop (16) to a user display device (10) from a remote display control device (15) such as a computer 5 server coupled to the global computer network (17) and operating appropriate computer software (13). The virtual remote desktop (16) occupies less than an entire display area (14) on the user display device (10). The system and method also provides commercial sponsored content (12) to the user 10 display device (10). The commercial sponsored content (12) is displayed adjacent the displayed virtual remote desktop (16). The commercial sponsored content (12) may be content advertising goods or services and arbitrary or based on the user's remote virtual desktop (16) or the user's activity on 15 the remote virtual desktop (16).
