Description

Waterproof structure, portable terminal, and method of manufacturing portable terminal
The present invention relates to a waterproof structure including a jack for audio output, a portable terminal, and a method for manufacturing the portable terminal.
There are types of mobile terminals typified by mobile phones that have built-in audio output jacks (so-called stereo jacks). FIG. 1 is a perspective view showing an embodiment of a portable terminal with a built-in jack. FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view taken along a cutting line aa shown in FIG. FIG. 3 is a perspective view of a jack built in the mobile terminal shown in FIG. In the portable terminal 100 shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a case 101 and a cover 103 are joined. A jack 102 is accommodated in the case 101. The inside of the case 101 is sealed with a frame-shaped packing member 104. An annular packing member 105 (see FIG. 3) is in close contact with the tip of the jack 102. In the portable terminal 100, the packing member 104, 105 is compressed, so that the inside of the case 101 is sealed. Thereby, a waterproof function is ensured. However, the portable terminal 100 has an arrangement configuration in which the packing member 104 is positioned above the packing member 105 (see FIG. 2). Therefore, it is difficult to make the case 101 thinner. A packing member for solving such a problem is disclosed in Patent Document 1 (Japanese Utility Model Laid-Open No. 5-46071).
FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the packing member disclosed in Patent Document 1. FIG. A frame-shaped packing member 200 shown in FIG. 4 has a thick portion 201 at the center in the longitudinal direction. A hole 202 is formed in the thick part 201. A jack (not shown) is in close contact with the inner peripheral surface of the hole 202. The packing member 200 has a structure in which the above-described packing members 104 and 105 are integrated. Therefore, when the packing member 200 is used for the mobile terminal 100 described above, the thickness of the case 101 can be suppressed.
Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 5-46071
When using the packing member 200 for the portable terminal 100 described above, the packing member 200 is compressed by a force F (see FIG. 5) applied from above and below. At this time, the portion that receives the force F vertically is in a compressed state sufficient to seal the case 101. However, in a portion having a curved surface like the thick portion 201, the force F is dispersed, so that compression may be insufficient. As a result, the sealing property of the case 101 may be reduced.
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a waterproof structure, a portable terminal, and a method for manufacturing the portable terminal that can ensure the sealing of the case and can suppress the thickness of the case.

本発明の携帯端末には、携帯電話機、PHS(Personal Handyphone System)、PDA(Personal Data Assistants)が適用可能である。
(Embodiment 1)
A first embodiment of the present invention will be described. FIG. 6 is a perspective view of the mobile terminal according to the first embodiment. A mobile phone, PHS (Personal Handyphone System), and PDA (Personal Data Assistants) can be applied to the mobile terminal of the present invention.
In the mobile terminal 1 shown in FIG. 6, the case 10 and the cover 20 are joined. FIG. 7 is an exploded perspective view of the mobile terminal 1 shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 7, one surface of the case 10 is open. The inside of the case 10 is surrounded by a frame-shaped wall portion 11. A concave opening 12 is formed in the center of the wall 11 in the short direction. A groove 13 is formed inside the wall 11. A packing member 30 formed in a frame shape along the wall portion 11 is fitted in the groove portion 13. The packing member 30 seals the inside of the case 10 by compressing between the case 10 and the cover 20. Inside the case 10, a jack 40 having a waterproof function is accommodated. In addition to the jack 40, various components (not shown) such as a display device, a circuit board, and a battery are housed inside the case 10.
FIG. 8 is a perspective view showing the packing member 30 and the jack 40 extracted from the portable terminal 1 shown in FIG. FIG. 9 is an enlarged view showing a part of FIG. As shown in FIG. 8, a thick portion 31 is formed at the center of the packing member 30 in the short direction. The thick portion 31 faces the opening 12 of the case 10 described above. The thick part 31 is formed with a hole 32 communicating with the opening 12. In this embodiment, the outline of the thick part 31 seen from the axial direction of the hole part 32 has an inverted trapezoidal shape. The jack 40 is housed inside the case 10 in a state of being in close contact with the inner peripheral surface of the hole 32. In the present embodiment, the tip end portion of the jack 40 protrudes from the hole portion 32. A concave projection 21 (see FIG. 7) provided on the cover 20 is fitted into the front end of the jack 40. 6 and 7, the cover 20 is illustrated in a simplified manner, but the actual cover 20 is fitted to the window that is opened so that the above-described display device can be seen, and to protect the display device. It has a structure in which the transparent member is integrated.
FIG. 10 is a cross-sectional view along the cutting line AA shown in FIG. FIG. 11 is a cross-sectional view taken along a cutting line BB shown in FIG. FIG. 12 is a cross-sectional view taken along the cutting line CC shown in FIG. The packing member 30 shown in FIGS. 10 to 12 is in a state before compression. As shown in FIGS. 10 to 12, a rib 31 a that is in contact with the case 10 is formed in the lower portion of the packing member 30. On the other hand, a rib 31 b in contact with the cover 20 is formed on the upper portion of the packing member 30. The packing member 30 is compressed by the ribs 31a and the ribs 31b being crushed. When only one rib is formed, the posture of the packing member 30 becomes unstable in the groove portion 13 and easily tilts. Therefore, in the present embodiment, in order to stabilize the posture of the packing member 30, the rib 31a and the rib 31b are formed so as to be vertically symmetric. Two or more of each rib may be formed.
FIG. 13 is a sectional view taken along the cutting line DD shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 13, the packing member 30 is compressed by the force F applied from above and below. At this time, since the thick portion 31 is also compressed, the adhesion between the hole portion 32 and the jack 40 is also improved. However, the outline of the jack 40 is circular. Therefore, in the compression by the force F described above, the force by which the packing member 30 presses the curved surface portion (side portion) of the jack 40 is weaker than the force by which the upper and lower portions of the jack 40 are pressed. As a result, the curved surface portion of the jack 40 may be insufficiently adhered to the packing member 30 as compared with the upper and lower portions of the jack 40. Therefore, as illustrated in FIG. 14, the packing member 30 may include an interference portion 31 c at a location that is in close contact with the curved surface portion of the jack 40. The interference part 31c protrudes inside the hole part 32, and the cross section has a crescent shape. The interference member 31c increases the force with which the packing member 30 presses the curved surface portion of the jack 40. Therefore, adhesion between the curved surface portion of the jack 40 and the packing member 30 is ensured.
In the packing member 30 of this embodiment, a portion that seals the inside of the case 10 and a portion (thick portion 31) where the jack 40 is in close contact are integrated. Therefore, the thickness of the case can be suppressed as compared with the portable terminal 100 shown in FIG. Furthermore, in the packing member 30 of this embodiment, the upper part of the thick part 30 which is in contact with the cover 20 is planar. Therefore, a larger compressive force is applied to the thick part 31 of the packing member 30 than the thick part 201 of the packing member 200 shown in FIG. As a result, the sealing property of the case 10 is higher than that of the case 101. In the thick wall portion 30, the greater the inclination of the slope portion 31d (see FIG. 13) in contact with the case 10, the more the force (the force in the direction perpendicular to the slope 31d) compresses the slope portion 31d when the packing member 30 is compressed. become weak. Therefore, it is desirable that the slope portion 31d has a gentle slope.
(Embodiment 2)
A second embodiment of the present invention will be described. FIG. 15 is a perspective view of the mobile terminal according to the second embodiment. 16 is an exploded perspective view of the mobile terminal 2 shown in FIG. 17 is a perspective view showing the packing member 30 and the jack 40 extracted from the portable terminal 2 shown in FIG. FIG. 18 is an enlarged view showing a part of FIG. FIG. 19 is a cross-sectional view taken along a cutting line AA shown in FIG. Hereinafter, the same components as those of the mobile terminal 1 according to the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals, and detailed description thereof is omitted.
In the portable terminal 2 of the present embodiment, the case 10 and the cover 20 are joined as in the portable terminal 1 of the first embodiment (see FIG. 15). A jack 40 is housed inside the cover 20 (see FIG. 16). As shown in FIGS. 17 and 18, a semicircular flange 41 is provided at the tip of the jack 40. The jack 40 is attached to the packing member 30 so that the flange 41 passes through the hole 32 (see FIG. 18).
In the portable terminal 1 of the first embodiment described above, the concave protrusion 21 of the cover 20 is configured to be fitted into the tip of the jack 40. On the other hand, in the mobile terminal 2 of the present embodiment, a flange 41 is provided at the tip of the jack 40. Therefore, the projections 21 are not necessary for the cover 20. Thereby, when joining the cover 20 to the case 10, the operation | work which fits the protrusion 21 in the jacket 40 becomes unnecessary. Therefore, the efficiency of the operation | work which joins the cover 20 to the case 10 improves.
FIG. 20 is a cross-sectional view along the cutting line EE shown in FIG. As described above, the jack 40 is attached to the packing member 30 so that the flange 41 passes through the hole 32. When the flange 41 passes through the hole 32, the hole 32 is deformed so as to expand outward. If the amount of deformation is large, the inner peripheral surface of the hole 32 may be torn. Therefore, it is desirable that the shape of the hole 32 is the same as or similar to the shape of the flange 41.
(Embodiment 3)
Embodiment 3 of the present invention will be described. FIG. 21 is an enlarged perspective view illustrating a main part of the mobile terminal according to the third embodiment. FIG. 22 is a cross-sectional view of the mobile terminal 3 of the third embodiment. The cross-sectional view shown in FIG. 22 corresponds to the cross-sectional views shown in FIGS. 10 and 19. Hereinafter, the same components as those of the mobile terminal 1 according to the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals, and detailed description thereof is omitted.
As shown in FIG. 21, an annular portion 33 is provided in the thick portion 31 of the packing member 30. The internal opening of the annular portion 33 is coaxial with the hole portion 32 formed in the thick portion 31. As shown in FIG. 22, the aperture R <b> 1 of the internal opening of the annular portion 33 is smaller than the aperture R <b> 2 of the hole 32. Therefore, when the plug 50 is inserted into the jacket 40, the annular portion 33 is deformed so that the internal opening extends outward. Due to the deformation of the annular portion 33, the plug 50 comes into close contact with the annular portion 33. As a result, the waterproof function can be realized even when the plug 50 is inserted into the jacket 40.
(Embodiment 4)
Embodiment 4 of the present invention will be described. FIG. 24 is an exploded perspective view of the mobile terminal according to the fourth embodiment. Hereinafter, the same components as those of the mobile terminal 1 according to the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals, and detailed description thereof is omitted.
In the portable terminals 1 to 3 of the above-described embodiments, the opening 12 formed in the wall 11 of the case 10 is concave, and the upper opening of the opening 12 is closed with the cover 20. On the other hand, in the mobile terminal 4 of the present embodiment, as shown in FIG. 24, the opening 12 has a round hole shape penetrating the wall 11, and the case 10 and the cover 20 are in close contact with each other above the opening 12. ing. Therefore, the mobile terminal 4 has better adhesion between the case 10 and the cover 20 than the mobile terminals 1 to 3. In a portable terminal with a built-in jack, it is desirable in terms of design that the jack exposed from the case is not noticeable. In the mobile terminal 4 of the present embodiment, the jack 40 is less noticeable than the mobile terminals 1 to 3 of the other embodiments by making the opening 12 of the case 10 into a round hole shape. In this respect, the mobile terminal 4 is more excellent in design than the mobile terminals 1 to 3.
Hereinafter, a method for manufacturing the portable terminal 4 of the present embodiment will be briefly described. 25 and 26 are cross-sectional views for explaining the method of manufacturing the mobile terminal according to the fourth embodiment. First, the packing member 30 in which the jack 40 is in close contact with the inner peripheral surface of the hole portion 32 is fitted into the groove portion 13 of the case 10 (see FIG. 25). It is technically possible to insert the jack 40 into the hole 32 after the packing member 30 is fitted in the hole 32 in advance. However, in this method, when the packing member 30 is damaged while the jack 40 is being inserted into the hole 32, it is necessary to remove the packing member 30 from the case 10. Therefore, work efficiency will fall. Therefore, in this embodiment, the packing member 30 is attached to the case 10 in a state where the jack 40 is inserted into the hole 32 in advance. At this time, the tip of the jack 40 does not protrude from the hole 32.
Next, the jack 40 is moved in the axial direction of the hole 32 (see the arrow in FIG. 25) until the tip of the jack 40 reaches the opening 12 of the case 10. Thereafter, the opening surface of the case 10 is closed with the cover 20, and the packing member 30 is compressed between the case 10 and the cover 20 to seal the inside of the case 10.
The present invention has been described above with reference to the embodiments, but the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments. Various changes that can be understood by those skilled in the art can be made to the configuration and details of the present invention within the scope of the present invention.
