Abstract

An abdominal muscles training device (110) that comprises a seat (10); a back rest portion (11) connected to the seat (10), the seat (10) and the back rest portion (11) mutually arranged to allow an abdominal muscles exercise that comprises alternately lifting the body trunk from the back rest portion (11) by a user (9) resting on the seat (10); a support (12), to which a plurality of targets (15,15') is arranged for being reached by the user's hands (9) during an abdominal exercise, In a first aspect of the invention, the support is connected to the seat (10) opposite to the back rest portion (11), said back rest portion (11) comprises a sensor (18) configured for detecting the contact or the proximity with the user's back (9) and a control unit (17) is provided that is responsive to signals coming from the sensor (18) of the back rest portion, such that the user (9) can carry out the abdominal muscles training by bringing the hands proximate to the targets (15,15'), and the sensor (18) of the back rest portion transmits a confirmation signal to the control unit (17) whenever the user (9) attracts into contact by the back with the back rest portion (11); a signalling means is provided for signalling to the user (9) when the back has come into contact with the back rest portion (11) and for confirming the user to repeat the exercise. In another aspect of the invention, the support is connected to the seat (10) opposite to the back rest portion (11); the support (12) comprises a reference axis (30) and a displacement means (32,33) for the support (12) with respect to the reference axis (30) from a first position (A), where the plurality of targets (15,15') is located at a first distance (d1) from the back rest portion (11), to a second position (B), where the plurality of targets (15,15') is located at a second distance (d2) from the back rest portion (11).
