Description

DISPLAY DEVICE MOUNTED ON THE WALL
The present invention relates to a display device like television, computer, having touch-sensitive properties and which is mounted on the wall.
The display devices like television, computer with touch-sensitive properties are mounted on the wall in some embodiments. A mounting unit is used for mounting the display devices on the wall. The mounting unit is mounted on the wall surface and the display device is connected to the mounting unit. The display device has a touch screen that the user touches with his/her finger or by using a special pen. The display devices having touch screens with optical features are widely used due to easy production – usage and low costs. In this type of display devices, cameras and reflectors are disposed on the sides of the touch screen which detect the coordinates of the touched points. In the touch screen, the flatness of the screen has to be adjusted precisely in order to detect the touched points accurately. The unevenness of the touch screen results in deflecting of the beams being transmitted between the cameras and the reflectors and the touched points not being detected accurately. The wall not being smooth whereto the display device is mounted also results in disruption of flatness of the touch screen. In the state of the art, in order to provide flatness, the touch screen is enforced with metal or plastic support members or the thickness of the glass panel on the front side of the touch screen is increased; however, these precautions increase the weight and cost of the display device.
In the state of the art International Patent Application No. WO2012011686, a camera module and an optical touch screen are explained.
In the state of the art Japanese Patent Application No. JP2006060754, a wall surface mounting unit for mounting thin shaped televisions on the wall surface is explained.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a display device which is mounted on the wall and the flatness of which is maintained.
The touch sensitive display device like the television, computer, realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, and explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, is mounted on the wall by means of a mounting unit. The display device comprises a touch screen contained in a casing composed of a frame and rear cover, and camera and reflectors that detect the touch of the user. The touch screen is composed of an LCD or plasma rear panel and the transparent, for example glass panel disposed at the front side. In the display device, the adjustment apparatuses disposed on the casing stretch and at least partially move the casing forwards/backwards in vertical direction to the wall surface, providing the distance between the wall surface and the sides of the casing to be changed, thus eliminating the unevenness in the touch screen.
The adjustment apparatus is composed of a tab produced as a single piece with the casing or integrated to the casing by being mounted and having two holes arranged thereon, and a distance adjustment screw and a securing screw mounted in the holes.
The distance adjustment screw bears against the wall when moved towards the wall, pushing the tab and hence the casing backwards, providing increase in the distance between the casing and the wall.
The securing screw penetrates the wall when moved towards the wall, pulling the casing towards the wall together with the tab. The securing screw provides the distance adjusted by the distance adjustment screw to be retained and the adjustment not to be disrupted.
The hole on the tab, wherein the distance adjustment screw is inserted, is inner threaded. The hole wherein the securing screw is inserted is not threaded.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the display device comprises a metal plate mounted on the wall surface, against which the end of the distance adjustment screw bears, thereby preventing the distance adjustment screw from wearing down the surface of the wall.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the adjustment apparatus is disposed on the side portion of the rear cover.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the adjustment apparatus is placed to the frame.
In the display device, the adjustment apparatus that maintains flatness of the touch screen is composed only of a tab disposed on the casing surrounding the screen, two holes bored on the tab and two screws mounted into these holes. In the touch screen, the unevenness originating from the glass panel production or the wall not being straight is eliminated, flatness is provided by a simple structured and low cost solution.

The display device (1) like the television, computer, having touch sensitive features, mounted on the wall (W) by means of a mounting unit (F) comprises a touch screen (2) having LCD or plasma type rear panel, and a transparent panel (3) preferably produced from glass, that the user touches with his/her finger or by using a special pen, and a casing (4) having a frame (5) supporting the touch screen (2) and the detection members like camera, reflector (not shown in the figures) providing the detection of the touch of the user and having a rear cover (6) joined with the frame (5) at the rear side of the touch screen (2), which is connected to the mounting unit (F).
The display device (1) of the present invention comprises one or more than one adjustment apparatus (7) at one or more than one point at the corner and/or side portions of the casing (4), stretching and moving the casing (4) forwards/backwards, at least partially in vertical direction to the wall (W) surface, providing the distance (H) between the wall (W) surface and the casing (4) to be changed, thus providing the flatness of the touch screen (2).
The adjustment apparatus (7) provides elimination of the unevenness, convex or concave curvatures of the touch screen (2) by precisely adjusting the flatness of the transparent panel (3) which is disposed at the front side of the touch screen (2) and forms the surface that is touched. The beams transmitted between the cameras and reflectors on the touch screen (2) are prevented from deflecting, and the touch of the user is detected accurately.
While the flatness of the touch screen (2) is adjusted, the casing (4) is moved vertically to the wall (W) surface from the points the adjustment apparatus (7) is connected and thus the casing (4) is stretched a little. The adjustment apparatus (7) provides the flatness of the touch screen (2) by compensating both the unevenness on the wall (W) surface and the errors, curvatures etc. in the casing (4) originating from production.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the adjustment apparatus (7) comprises a tab (8) disposed on the casing (4), having two holes (9, 109) bored thereon, a distance adjustment screw (10) mounted to the first hole (9), providing increase/decrease in the distance (H) between the casing (4) and the wall (W) and a securing screw (11) mounted to the second hole (109) which provides fix and retain the distance (H) adjusted by the distance adjustment screw (10) to be fixed and retained.
The display device (1) is mounted on the wall (W) by being connected to the mounting unit (F) and the flatness of the touch screen (2) is provided by means of the adjustment apparatuses (7). The casing (4) is stretched from the sides and corners by moving forwards/backwards the distance adjustment screw (10) and the securing screw (11) mounted to the holes (9, 109) situated on the tab (8), the distance (H) of the sides and corners of the casing (4) to the wall (W) is increased/decreased and the flatness of the touch screen (2) is obtained.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the first hole (9) situated on the tab (8) is inner threaded. In this embodiment, when the distance adjustment screw (10) is moved through the first hole (9) towards the wall (W) surface, the end thereof bears against the wall (W) surface, but does not penetrate the wall (W) surface and increases the distance (H) between the casing (4) and the wall (W) by pushing the tab (8) backwards together with the casing (4), whereto the tab (8) is connected.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the second hole (109) situated on the tab (8) is not inner threaded. The securing screw (11) penetrates the wall (W) when moved through the second hole (109) towards the wall (W) and is tightened (rotated) until the head portion bears against the tab (8), thus the distance (H) adjusted by the distance adjustment screw (10) is provided to be retained. When the tab (8) is required to be moved near the wall (W) in order to provide flatness, the securing screw (11) is moved inside the wall (W), pulling the tab (8) towards the wall (W), thus providing decrease in the distance (H) between the casing (4) and the wall (W).
For the adjustment of the distance (H) between the casing (4) and the wall (W), first the distance adjustment screw (10) in the first hole (9) is rotated, the casing (4) is moved away from the wall (W) as much as the distance (H) providing flatness of the touch screen (2), and thus the flatness of the touch screen (2) and hence the transparent panel (3) whereon touching is performed is provided. When the required flatness is satisfactorily maintained, the securing screw (11) in the second hole (109) is moved inside the wall (W) until the head portion bears against the tab (8) and the distance (H) adjusted by the distance adjustment screw (10) is kept fixed.
In another embodiment of the present invention, the adjustment apparatus (7) comprises one or more than one metal plate (12) mounted on the wall (W) surface, against which the end of the distance adjustment screw (10) bears (Figure 4). The metal plate (12) prevents the end of the distance adjustment screw (10) bearing against the wall (W) (not penetrating the wall (W)) from wearing down the wall (W).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the display device (1) comprises the adjustment apparatus (7) that is disposed to the rear cover (6).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the display device (1) comprises the adjustment apparatus (7) disposed to the frame (5).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the tab (8) is produced as a single piece together with the rear cover (6) or the frame (5).
In another embodiment of the present invention, the tab (8) is produced separately from the casing (4) and is mounted to the rear cover (6) or the frame (5) later on.
The flatness of the touch screen (2) is controlled by two strings or metal wires fastened diagonally between the corners of the transparent panel (3). During realizing flatness adjustment by means of the adjustment apparatuses (7), the diagonally fastened strings or wires on the front surface of the transparent panel (3) coinciding at midpoint show that flatness is achieved.
The adjustment apparatus (7) composed of the holes (9, 109) bored to the tabs (8) connected to the casing (4) and the distance adjustment screw (10) and the securing screw (11) mounted to these holes (9, 109), provides a low cost and simple structured solution for maintaining the flatness of the touch screen (2). Flatness adjustment is made by means of the adjustment apparatuses (7) in a precise manner, the convex or concave curvatures of the touch screen (2) are eliminated, the flatness of the touch screen (2) is prevented from being disrupted with the effect of exterior forces like impacting etc. The errors originating from the mounting unit (F) and/or the wall (W) not being even are compensated.
It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited by the embodiments disclosed above and a person skilled in the art can easily introduce different embodiments. These should be considered within the scope of the protection disclosed by the claims of the present invention.
