Definitions
- the present invention relates to a base station gateway device, a wireless communication system, and a communication method.
- UE User Equipment
- may perform Intra HeNBGW Inter HeNB Handover handover between HeNBs within HeNBGW) that moves from Source HeNB to Target HeNB under the same HeNBGW (Home-eNB GateWay). is there.
- Section 10.1.2.1.1, Section 10.1.2.2 of Non-Patent Document 1 (TS36.300 version 10.5.0) and Section 5.5 (hereinafter referred to as 3GPP) of Non-Patent Document 2 (TS23.401 version 10.5.0) The operation when S1 Based Handover is performed as Intra HeNBGW Inter HeNB Handover (Operation Example 1) and the operation when X2 Based Handover is performed (Operation Example 2) will be described.
- the Downlink User Plane Data is transmitted from the S-GW to the Source HeNB via the HeNBGW U (User) -Plane, and further to the UE.
- the Source HeNB decides to implement S1 based Handover in the movement of the UE to the Target HeNB.
- the Source HeNB sends an S1AP: Handover Required message to the HeNBGW C (Control) -Plane in order to request the UE to move to the Target HeNB.
- HeNBGW C-Plane forwards this S1AP: Handover Required message to MME.
- S0004 Based on the S1AP: Handover Required message received in S0003, the MME knows that the Target HeNB is a HeNB under the same HeNBGW, and returns to the HeNBGW that controls the Target HeNB and transmits an S1AP: Handover Request message.
- the MME is required to operate after predicting in advance that a handover having the same handover source and handover destination will be performed. HeNBGW transfers this S1AP: Handover Request message to Target HeNB.
- the MME UE S1AP ID that identifies the UE in the S1AP: Handover Request message is a part of the combination of the MME UE S1AP ID and the eNB UE S1AP ID that are the identifiers of the UE in the S1AP: Handover Required message received in S0003. . Therefore, in general, the HeNBGW cannot specify that the UEs targeted by both messages are the same. Therefore, the HeNBGW recognizes that it is a separate UE, and the S1AP: Network resource for the UE Source HeNB targeted by the Handover Required message, and the UE Target HeNB targeted by the S1AP: Handover Request message. Network resources will be secured separately.
- the Target HeNB returns an S1AP: Handover Request Acknowledge message to the MME via the HeNBGW C-Plane as a response to the S1AP: Handover Request message received in S0004.
- S0006 Upon receiving the Handover Request Acknowledge message in S0005, the MME sends an S1AP: Handover Command message to the Source HeNB via the HeNBGW.

- Source HeNB does not send Downlink User Plane Data received from S-GW via HeNBGW U-Plane to the UE, and starts Data Forwarding to forward to Target HeNB.
- S2002 The S-GW returns a Modify Bearer Response message to the MME as a response to the Modify Bearer Request message received in S2001.
- S0013 The S-GW inserts an End Marker indicating the last data into the Downlink User Plane data and sends it to the GTP tunnel for the Source HeNB.
- HeNBGW U-Plane transfers Downlink User Plane data with this End Marker inserted to Source HeNB. Thereafter, S-GW does not send Downlink User Plane Data to the HeNBGW GTP tunnel for Source HeNB.
- the Source HeNB sends Downlink User Plane data with the End Marker received in S0013 inserted to the Target HeNB in Data Forwarding starting from S0010.
- Target HeNB detects by End Marker that it is the end of Downlink User Plane data received from Source HeNB from S0010, and then sends Downlink User Plane data received directly from HeNBGW U-Plane to the UE.
- the transfer order of Downlink User Plane data to the UE is guaranteed.
- the S-GW switches the transfer destination of Downlink User Plane Data from the HeNBGW GTP tunnel for the Source HeNB to the HeNB GW GTP tunnel for the Target HeNB.
- the switching timing is immediately after the End Marker is inserted in S0013.
- the HeNBGW and S-GW are realized by the same GTP tunnel, it is necessary to determine that the UE is the same in S0004 in the HeNBGW C-Plane and the HeNBGW- in the HeNBGW U-Plane. It is necessary to synchronize the switching timing of the GTP tunnel between HeNBs with the reception timing of the End Marker.
- these rules are not defined in the 3GPP description.
- S0016 The MME sends an S1AP: UE Context Release Command message to the Source HeNB via the HeNBGW C-Plane for the purpose of releasing the resources in the Source HeNB to complete the Handover.

- Source HeNB decides to implement X2 based Handover in UE movement to Target HeNB.
- the Source HeNB sends an X2AP: Handover Request message to the Target HeNB in order to request the UE to move to the Target HeNB.
- the Target HeNB returns an X2AP: Handover Request Acknowledge message to the Source HeNB as a response to the X2AP: Handover Request message received in S1003.
- S1005 When the Source HeNB receives an X2AP: Handover Request Acknowledge message in S1004, it sends an RRC Connection Reconfiguration message to the UE.
- the Source HeNB sends an X2AP: SN Status Transfer message to the Target HeNB in order to transfer the Transparent Container to the Target HeNB.

- the Target HeNB Upon receiving the RRC Connection Reconfiguration Complete message in S1008, the Target HeNB sends an S1AP: Path Switch Request message via the HeNBGW C-Plane to request handover completion and switching of the GTP tunnel to the upper node. Send to.
- the HeNBGW C-Plane is a HeNBGW U-Plane GTP tunnel for the Source HeNB and a HeNBGW U-Plane GTP tunnel for the Target HeNB in order to enable route switching by the S-GW in the subsequent S1010.
- both are connected to HeNBGW U-Plane, it is necessary to set different values.
- S2002 The S-GW returns a Modify Bearer Response message to the MME as a response to the Modify Bearer Request message received in S2001.
- S-GW inserts the End Marker into the Downlink User Plane data and sends it to the GTP tunnel of the HeNBGW U-Plane for the Source HeNB.
- HeNBGW U-Plane transfers Downlink User Plane data with this End Marker inserted to Source HeNB. Thereafter, S-GW does not transmit Downlink User Plane Data to the HeNBGW U-Plane GTP tunnel for Source HeNB.
- Source HeNB sends Downlink User Plane data with End Marker received in S1010 inserted to Target HeNB in Data Forwarding starting from S1007.
- Target HeNB detects by End Marker that it is the end of Downlink User Plane data received from Source HeNB from S1007, and then sends Downlink User Plane data received directly from HeNBGW U-Plane to the UE. In addition, the transfer order of Downlink User Plane data to the UE is guaranteed.
- S-GW switches the transfer destination of Downlink User Plane Data to Target HeNB.
- S-GW is not the HeNBGW U-Plane GTP tunnel for Source HeNB that was sent in S1001, but the HeNBGW U-Plane GTP for Target HeNB specified in M100 from HeNBGW C-Plane in S1009. Downlink User Plane Data will be sent to the tunnel.
- the same HeNBGW U-Plane GTP tunnel for Source HeNB is set as the HeNBGW U-Plane GTP tunnel for Target HeNB, for S-GW, Downlink User Plane for the same HeNBGW Since the data is transmitted, it is not necessary to switch the GTP tunnel.
- the HeNBGW C-Plane is considered that the subsequent message reception in S1013 will be the timing of switching the GTP tunnel.
- the Target HeNB sends an X2AP: UE Context Release message to the Source HeNB for the purpose of releasing the resources in the Source HeNB because the Handover is completed.

- Source HeNB101 starts Forwarding Data Forwarding to Target HeNB102 without transmitting Downlink User Plane Data received from S-GW402 via HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 to UE801.
- (S1009) Target The HeNB102 sends an S1AP: Path Switch Request message to the HeNBGW C-Plane 3012 in order to request handover completion and switching of the GTP tunnel to the upper node.
- the target HeNB102-HeNBGW301 message in S1009 and the subsequent S1013 is transmitted through the HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 together with the C / U-Plane message.
- messages between the HeNB 101, 102 and the HeNBGW 301 are normally routed through the same route because the network security is guaranteed by IP Sec.
- the HeNBGW does not have to go through the U-Plane 3011, the description will be continued on the assumption that it goes through the HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 for switching the GTP tunnel of S1010.
- Source HeNB101 transmits Downlink User Plane Data with End Marker received in S1011 inserted to Target HeNB102 in Data Forwarding starting from S1007.
- Target HeNB102 detects the end of Downlink Data received from Source HeNB101 from S1007 by End Marker, and then transmits to UE801 Downlink Data received directly from HeNBGW U-Plane 3011. The transfer order of Downlink User Plane data is guaranteed.
- the HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 relays the Path Switch Request in S1009, and immediately after inserting the End Marker in S1010, switches the transfer destination of the Downlink User Plane Data received from the S-GW402 to the Target HeNB102.
- HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 determines the switching timing of the GTP tunnel by reading the S1AP: Path Switch Request message of S1009, but is not limited to this.
- the HeNBGW C-Plane 3012 may receive the S1AP: Path Switch Request message in S1009 and instruct the HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 to switch the GTP tunnel. This is the same as S0015 of the first embodiment.
- S1013 HeNBGW C-Plane 3012 knows that Source HeNB101 is a HeNB under the same HeNBGW301 based on the S1AP: Path Switch Request message received in S1009. Therefore, the HeNBGW C-Plane 3012 does not transfer this S1AP: Path Switch Request message to the MME401, but returns to the Target HeNB102 and transmits an S1AP: Path Switch Request Acknowledge message.
- S1AP: Path Switch Request Acknowledge message sets Mandatory Parameter Security Context (NCC and Security Key), but this setting stores Security Key and NCC when UE801 first connects to HeNBGW301. Stored in a unit (not shown) and reused. This is the same as S0004 in the first embodiment.
- Target HeNB102 sends an X2AP: UE Context Release message to Source HeNB101 for the purpose of releasing resources in Source HeNB101 for the completion of Handover.
- the HeNBGW 301 stores the Security Key and NCC when the UE 801 first connects to the HeNBGW 301 in the storage unit (not shown).
- S1013 since the S1AP: Path Switch Request Acknowledge message is transmitted by reusing the Security Key and NCC, an effect of maintaining a secure network can be obtained.
- HeNBGW301 inserts End Marker into Downlink User Plane Data at S1010, and realizes GTP tunnel switching between Source HeNB101 and Target HeNB102 at the timing when End Marker is inserted. Therefore, the transfer order of Downlink User Plane data in Target HeNB102 can be guaranteed.
- the Source HeNB101 sends an S1AP: Handover Required message to the HeNBGW C-Plane 3012 in order to request the UE 801 to move to the Target HeNB102.
- HeNBGW C-Plane 3012 transfers this S1AP: Handover Required message to MME401.
- the MME 401 Based on the S1AP: Handover Required message received in S0003, the MME 401 knows that the Target HeNB 102 is a HeNB under the same HeNBGW 301, and returns to the HeNBGW 301 that controls the Target HeNB 102 to transmit an S1AP: Handover Request message.
- the HeNBGW301 confirms that the UE801 targeted by the S1AP: Handover Request message of S0004 is the same as the UE801 targeted by the S1AP: Handover Required message of S0003, E-RABs To Be Setup List and Source to Target Transparent. Predictive judgment from various parameters such as Container. In addition, this prediction determination may be performed by either HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 or HeNBGW C-Plane 3012.
- Source HeNB101 sends S1AP: eNB Status Transfer message to MME401 via HeNBGW C-Plane 3012 to transfer Transparent Container to Target HeNB102.
- the MME401 transfers the S1AP: eNB Status Transfer message received in S0008 to the S1AP: MME Status Transfer message and transmits it to the Target HeNB102 via the HeNBGW C-Plane 3012.
- the HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 relays the S1AP: Handover Notify message in S0012, and immediately after the End Marker is inserted in S0013, switches the transfer destination of the Downlink User Plane Data received from the S-GW402 to the Target HeNB102. . Since the HeNBGW301 determines in S0004 that the messages of S0003 and S0004 are the signaling for handover of the same UE 801, the switching of the GTP tunnel can be performed inside the HeNBGW301.
- S2001 Upon receiving the S1AP: Handover Notify message in S0012, the MME 401 transmits a Modify Bearer Request message to the S-GW 402 for switching the GTP tunnel between the S-GW 402 and the HeNBGW 301.
- the S-GW402 returns a Modify Bearer Response message to the MME401 as a response to the Modify Bearer Request message received in S2001.
- S-GW402 inserts End Marker into Downlink User Plane Data and sends it to HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 for GTP tunnel switching. However, HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 releases the received End Marker and discards it.
- S0016 MME401 sends an S1AP: UE Context Release Command message to Source HeNB101 via HeNBGW C-Plane 3012 for the purpose of releasing resources in Source HeNB101 for the completion of Handover.
- Target HeNB102 returns S1AP: UE Context Release Complete message to MME401 via HeNBGW C-Plane as a response to S1AP: UE Context Release Command message received in S0016. This completes the Handover process.
- the HeNBGW 301 determines that the UE 801 targeted by the Handover Required and Handover Request messages is the same in S0004. Therefore, it is possible to realize switching of the GTP tunnel in S0015 and to avoid double securing of network resources between the MME 401 and the HeNBGW 301.
- the HeNBGW 301 discards the End Marker transmitted by the S-GW 402 in S2003, and therefore is not affected by the End Marker transmitted by the S-GW 402. The effect is that the transfer order of Downlink User Plane data of Target HeNB102 in S0014 can be guaranteed.
- the HeNBGW301 since the HeNBGW301 generates an End Marker in S0013, even in the case where the S-GW402 does not transmit the End Marker in S2003, the Target HeNB102 in S0014 The effect is that the transfer order of Downlink User Plane data can be guaranteed. Note that the above case may occur when the S-GW402 is implemented so that the End Marker is not transmitted in the situation where the destination is the GTP tunnel of the same HeNBGW301 before and after the Handover when viewed from the S-GW402 side. There is sex.
- S1009 Target The HeNB102 sends an S1AP: Path Switch Request message to the MME401 via the HeNBGW C-Plane 3012 in order to request handover completion and switching of the GTP tunnel to the upper node.
- S1013 Based on the S1AP Path Switch Request message received in S1009, MME401 knows that the Source HeNB101 is a HeNB under the same HeNBGW301, and wraps back the S1AP Path Switch Request Acknowledge message and sends it to Target HeNB102 via HeNBGW301.
- S2001 Upon receiving the S1AP: Path Switch Request message in S1009, the MME 401 transmits a Modify Bearer Request message to the S-GW 402 for switching the GTP tunnel between the S-GW 402 and the HeNBGW 301.
- HeNBGW301 inserts End Marker into Downlink User Plane Data at S1010, and at the timing when End Marker is inserted, Since the GTP tunnel switching between the HeNB 101 and the Target HeNB 102 can be realized, there is an effect that the transfer order of Downlink User Plane data at the Target HeNB 102 in S1012 can be guaranteed.
- the HeNBGW 301 discards the End Marker transmitted by the S-GW 402 in S2003, so that it is not affected by the End Marker transmitted by the S-GW 402.
- the effect is that the transfer order of Downlink User Plane data of Target HeNB102 in S1012 can be guaranteed.
- the HeNBGW301 since the HeNBGW301 generates the End Marker in S1010, even in the case where the S-GW402 does not transmit the End Marker in S2003, the Target HeNB102 in S1011 The effect is that the transfer order of Downlink User Plane data can be guaranteed. Note that the above case may occur when the S-GW402 is implemented so that the End Marker is not transmitted in the situation where the destination is the GTP tunnel of the same HeNBGW301 before and after the Handover when viewed from the S-GW402 side. There is sex.
- S-GW402 After returning the Modify Bearer Response message to MME401 in S2002, S-GW402 inserts End Marker into Downlink User Plane data and sends it to HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 for GTP tunnel switching.
- the HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 knows the timing of switching to the GTP tunnel of the Target HeNB102 at the timing when the End Marker is received from the S-GW402.
- the HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 that received the End Marker in S2003 transmits Downlink User Plane data with the End Marker inserted to the Source HeNB 101 at the timing of receiving this End Marker. Thereafter, HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 does not transmit Downlink User Plane Data to Source HeNB101.
- Source HeNB101 transmits Downlink User Plane Data with End Marker received in S0014 inserted to Target HeNB102 in Data Forwarding starting from S0010.
- Target HeNB102 detects that the end of the Downlink Data received from Source HeNB101 from S0010 by End Marker, and then transmits to UE801 Downlink Data received directly from HeNBGW U-Plane 3011. The order of Downlink User Plane Data is guaranteed.
- the HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 receives the End Marker in S2003, and immediately after inserting the End Marker in S0013, switches the transfer destination of the Downlink User Plane Data received from the S-GW402 to the Target HeNB102. Since the HeNBGW 301 determines in S0004 that the S0003 and S0004 messages are S1AP signaling for handover of the same UE 801, the GNB tunnel can be switched inside the HeNBGW 301.
- the HeNBGW 301 receives Downlink User Plane Data received from the S-GW 402 in S0015 at the reception timing of the End Marker in S2003. Transfer of Downlink User Plane Data with End Marker inserted and Downlink User Plane Data before and after that is realized by HeNBGW U-Plane 3011 in order to know the timing of switching the transfer destination to the GTP tunnel of Target HeNB102. The effect is that the transfer order of Downlink User Plane data can be guaranteed.
- (S1009) Target The HeNB 102 sends an S1AP: Path Switch Request message to the HeNBGW C-Plane 3011 in order to request handover completion and switching of the GTP tunnel to the upper node.
