Description
DEVICE FOR CLEANING AND RUBBING BODY PARTS
The present invention refers to a device for cleaning and rubbing body parts, above all for parts of the human body which are difficult to reach, such as the back, and in particular for washing and massaging, human body parts.
Some devices of this type are known in the art, in particular from documents EP-A-2 353 571, ES-A1-2 167 236, US-B1-6 226 811 and O-Al- 95/27469.
However, such devices, though performing the function of being capable of being attached to walls and -of allowing the massage and rubbing against parts of human bodies, all have two clear types of problems:
1) due to the relatively high forces to which they are subjected, actually due to the rubbing for example of a user's back, that per se is a very large body part with respect to the working surface of known devices, such devices tend to be detached from the wall onto which they are kept by the'
suction cups present therein: in fact, such suction cups are in a position that is exposed to penetration of air and water inside the cups, penetration that decreases or cancels the holding force of the suction ■ cups themselves onto the bearing wall;
2) the massaging projections (where present) have a substantially cylindrical shape with a slightly rounded bit, and therefore are not able to fully perform the massaging or rubbing function for which they are provided.
Therefore, object of the present invention is solving the above prior art problems, by providing a device for cleaning and rubbing body parts that obtains a very strong attachment force onto the surfaces on which it is installed, being equipped with a protecting perimeter wall that prevents fluids such as water, air and the like, to get in contact with the holding suction cups weakening their holding force.
Another object of the invention is providing a device as mentioned above, that performs a deeper and more efficient massaging action, being equipped for such purpose with projections of a particular frustum-of-cone shape.
Another object of the present invention is providing a device as mentioned above that has a reduced weight and a reinforced structure, thereby increasing its operating hold; due to the material of which it is made, moreover, the inventive device highly increases its working life.
These and other objects are obtained by a device for cleaning and rubbing body parts as- claimed in claim 1. Preferred embodiments and non- trivial variations of the present invention are the subject matter of the dependent claims.
It is intended that all claims are an integral part of the present description.
Further objects and advantages of the present invention will clearly appear from the following description and the enclosed drawings, provided as a non-limiting example, in which:
- Figure 1 shows a top perspective view of a first embodiment of the device for cleaning and rubbing body parts of the present invention;
- Figure 2 shows a bottom perspective view of the device of Figure 1;
- Figure 3 shows a top perspective view of a second embodiment of the device for cleaning and rubbing body parts of the present invention;
- Figure 4 shows a bottom perspective view of the device of Figure 3; .
- Figure 5 shows a top perspective view of a third embodiment of the device for cleaning and rubbing body parts of the present invention;
- Figure 6 shows a bottom perspective view of the device of Figure 5; and
- Figures 7 and 8 show two possible modes and application points of the device of the present invention.
It will be immediately obvious that numerous variations and modifications (for example related to shape, sizes, arrangements and parts with equivalent functionality) can me made to what is described, without departing from the scope of the invention as appears from the enclosed claims.
With particular reference to the Figures, the inventive device 1 is used for cleaning and rubbing body parts, above all parts of the human body which are difficult to reach, such as the back, and in particular for washing and massaging human body parts; the device 1 substantially comprises:
- a body having a first side 3 and a second side 6;
- wherein the first side 3 is equipped with a plurality of cleaning and rubbing" protuberances 5; and
- wherein the second side 6 is equipped with a plurality of suction cups 7 for an attachment to a supporting surface.
The main features of the inventive device 1 are that:
the body of the device 1 is equipped with an external perimeter edge 11 perpendicular to the plane of the first side 3 and of the second side 6: such perimeter edge 11, after the contact (namely the attachment) of the device 1 with a supporting surface (where the device 1 is installed for its operation through a pressure of the suction cups 7 onto the su'rface itself) , encloses the suction cups 7 in a space into which water, air or other fluids (like soap or the like) are not capable of penetrating; and
each one of "the protuberances 5 has the shape of a frustum-of-cone .
The frustum-of-cone shape of the protuberances 5, differently from the cylindrical projections of prior devices, provides a big improvement to the
operation of the device 1 itself, since it favours the blood circulation and the body cleaning, since it removes dead cells from the skin and has a different friction on the skin surface onto which it intervenes.
Moreover, the inventive device 1 is equipped, on the second side 6, with a plurality of ribs 9 that mutually connect and support the plurality of suction cups 7: such . ribs 9 are arranged on planes that are parallel to the plane of the external perimeter edge 11 and make, with such edge 11, a whole reinforcement and support of the inventive device 1.
In particular, the device 1 can preferably be made of anti-allergic, anti-bacterial and anti- mildew rubber, or even possibly of lattice or other suitable material.
Still preferably, the rubber or lattice, of which the device 1 is composed, can be perfumed to make its use more pleasant.
Due to the above mentioned arrangement with ribs 9 and due to the structure of which it is made, the inventive device 1 can be produced in a very small weight, in particular a weight included between 280 g and 350 g, that further facilitates
the hold of the suction cups 7 against the surface onto which it is abutted.
Moreover, according to a further possible configuration, the device 1 of the invention can be equipped with at least one small motor (not shown) , supplied by a battery (not shown) and equipped, for example, with spring-type elements (not shown) arranged on its side 6, everything thereby realising a solution adapted to impress to the device 1 an oscillating and massaging action around its main axis. Other configurations are obviously possible, that obtain such automated massaging solution.
Still according to an operating possibility, in the device 1, the ribs 9 can mutually delimit some spaces suitable to contain washing or deodorant liquid therein, wherein this liquid is sprayed onto the body by the device 1 during its operation through a plurality of small holes (not shown) with which the protuberances 5 are equipped.
As can be seen from Figures 1 to 6, several configurations of the inventive device 1 are possible, such as for example a configuration with the shape of a hand with all fingers mutually joined, apart from the thumb (always in view of
improving the adherence of the device 1 to the supporting surface, Figures 1 and 2) , another with a rectangular shape (Figures 3 and 4) and another with a round shape (Figures 5 and 6) : it is clear that other different shapes and configurations can be devised, where both the protuberances 5, and the suction cups 7 can be, uniformly or not, arranged onto their respective sides 3 and 6, with arrangements wholly at will.
Always to demonstrate the versatility of the inventive device 1, Figures 7 and 8 show two possible locations (a shower in Figure 7 and a bath tub in Figure 8) wherein the device 1 itself can be used: also in this case, the supporting surfaces and the operating positions can be several, such as, for example, wash-basins, sinks, bidets, etc.
It is -therefore clear that numerous variations can be made to the inventive device 1 of the present invention, without thereby departing from the scope of the present invention, as defined by the enclosed claims.
