Description
A METHOD FOR TRIMMING ARTICLES CONSTITUTED BY A PAIRED UNIT OF MATERIALS
FIELD OF THE INVENTION
5 The present invention relates to a method for trimming articles for clothing, for example hosiery, leather goods, bags etc.
In particular, the articles are constituted by a paired unit, more precisely a slim external component of high-quality material (for example leather) and one or more slim internal components (for example linings, stiffening layers destined 10 to give a predetermined shape to the article, etc.): these components are solidly constrained to one another using known methods to an expert in the sector, such as to define the above-mentioned paired units.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART
15 A known system for obtaining the above-type articles is schematically illustrated in figures 1-5A.
With reference to figure 1 , reference numeral 1 denotes a leather sheet.
Parts known as blanks 2 are obtained from the leather sheet, the profiles of which blanks 2 have a profile 2A that are of such a size as to contain 20 corresponding articles 7.
The blanks 2 are applied on a second component 3 (for example a lining, a stiffening element, etc.); see figure 2; component 3 and blanks are solidly connected to one another using known methods.
The illustrated example considers only a second component; as is known, two 25 or more components can also be comprised, made solid to one another to form a paired article which comprises the blanks 2.
The group 10 constituted by the component 3 - blanks 2 is placed on a work table T above which a press 4 operates, which bears a punching device 5 (figure 3).
30 The punching device 5 develops such as to define the profile 6 of the corresponding article 7; the profile 6 is such as to inscribe in the profile 2A of the blank 2.
The operator moves the group 10 on the work plane T according to the
coordinates X, Y with the aim of centring the punching device 5 with respect to the underlying blank 2 (see figure 4) in which the profile 6 is shown in a broken line; as mentioned, the profile 6 is centred with respect to the profile 2A of the blank 2.
At this point the operator activates the press 4, the descent of which leads to cutting a portion of the group 10 such as to define a corresponding article 7 (see figure 5): in this way the article is trimmed.
This article 7 (see figure 5A) is constituted by an external portion 7A of high- quality material (constituted for example by leather) and an internal portion (7B "obtained" from the component 3.
The above-described steps, i.e. the movement of the group 10 in such a way as to centre the blank with respect to an underlying blank 2 and activate the press so as to obtain trimming of a relative article, are repeated for each article 7.
To realise articles having different shapes and profiles from the preceding one, the punching device has to be changed.
A range of punching devices for the various profiles to be realised must be provided, which involves relative realization and storage costs therefor.
This operating mode is lacking in versatility, as it is limited by the punching devices available; a different profile, not comprised in the range of available punching devices, involves waiting times (and relative costs) consequent to the realisation of the new type of punching device.
The experience of the operator is determinant for obtaining excellent articles and for minimising the waste due to non-centred trimming with respect to the blanks 2.
The tiredness of the operator causes a reduction in productivity and a possible increase in waste.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
The aim of the present invention is to obviate the drawbacks set out in the foregoing with a method with which the trimming of articles constituted by paired units can be carried out, all with a considerably superior productivity to that of the known systems, and with an absence of waste.
A further aim of the invention is to provide a method the actuation of which requires neither the use of punching units nor the use of specialized technicians
A further aim of the invention is to provide an extremely versatile method, i.e. able to realise articles having any shape without this leading to increases in costs.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
The above advantages are obtained in accordance with the independent claim.
Further characteristics of the invention are described in the following with reference to the accompanying tables of drawings, in which:
figures 1-5A schematically illustrate the operative steps of the known system, already described, for obtaining the trimming of articles constituted by paired units;
figures 6-8 schematically illustrate the operating steps which, in combination with the operating steps of figures 1 and 2, define the method of the present invention;
figure 9 illustrates some operating steps of a variant of the method of the invention.
DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS
With reference to above-mentioned figures 1 and 2, the obtaining of the blanks 2 is advantageously achieved by arranged the leather 1 (first slim component) on an aspirating plane; the above-cited blanks are realised with a suitable control board and an operating head provided with at least a cutting tool (the card and operating head are not illustrated as they are known to an expert in the sector).
The blanks 2 are applied and blocked on a face of a second slim component 3 having predetermined characteristics, which second slim component 3 is of such a size as to contain the blanks; in this way a unit 10 is obtained that is constituted by the second component 3 and the blanks 2.
The mutual positioning of the blanks 2 and the orientation thereof on the
second slim component 3 are realised in any way.
In figure 6, reference numeral 20 denotes a machine provided with an operating plane 21 (connectable to aspirating means, of known type and therefore not illustrated), above which an operating cutting head 22 (of known type) is positioned, provided with cutting means, mobile according to Cartesian axes X ( Y1 ( and able to rotate (direction W) with respect to a vertical axis.
C denotes a control board that controls and commands the operating head 22 and the aspirating means.
The method of the present invention obtains, from the unit 10, the articles 7 constituted by the two portions 7A.7B: see figures 5,5A.
The above-described method first comprises entering, in the control board C, the trimming profiles 16 developing in such a way as to be inserted internally of the profiles 2A of corresponding blanks 2 (see insert M of figure 7); in the illustrated example of figures 6-8, a single trimming profile 16 has been considered for the sake of simplicity.
The method comprises arranging the unit 10 on the operating plane 21 with the blanks 2 facing upwards; it follows that the face of the second slim profile 3 is in contact with the operating aspirating plane 21.
The activation of the aspirating plane 21 imposed by the control board C, i.e. the connection with the aspirating means (actuated according to methods known to the expert in the sector) stabilized the group on the operating aspirating plane 21.
Known optic means 25 are used to detect both the profile of each blank 2 of the group and the positioning thereof on the operating plane 21.
More precisely, the optic means detect the profiles 2A of the blanks 2 of the group 10, the orientation and the mutual positioning of the profiles; it follows that as the group is fixed with respect to the operating plane, the control board C receives all the data for intervening to cut, with the operating head 22, at any point of the group 10; in other terms, the profiles 2A of the blanks 2 of the group 10, the orientation and the positioning of the profiles on the operating plane 21 are stored in the control board C.
Using suitable software, the control board C centres the trimming profile 16
internally of the pathways 12A (see insert P of figures 7, 8) which is indicated by a broken line.
On the basis of the data processed by the control board C and stored thereon as schematically shown in insert P, the operating head 22 is commanded to trim the group 10 along the profiles 16 which are centred and internal with respect to the profiles 2A of the blanks 2.
The trimming operations, denoted by reference R of figure 8, generate articles 7 constituted by two portions 7A, 7B already considered with reference to figure 5A.
At this point the control board deactivates the connection of the operating plane 21 with the aspirating means: this enables the articles 7 to be removed. With a group 10 exhibiting blanks 2 having an area and a profile that are different from the ones considered herein above, it is sufficient to comprise a corresponding trimming profile that is entered and stored in the control board C: this is a simple and rapid operation, within the grasp of any IT operative. A wide range of trimming profiles can be advantageously stored; when needed the trimming profile for a predetermined article 7 is retrieved and used.
The above enables intervening on the group 10 to obtain articles 7 having an area and profile that are different to one another, or a plurality of groups that can even be different from one another.
By way of example, in the illustrated example a group 10 is considered that is constituted by a single second component 3 to which the blanks 2 are blocked.
The method considered enables operating on an indeterminate number of groups.
By way of example, in figure 9 three groups 100, 110, 120 are considered, respectively constituted by at least a blank 200, 210, 220 applied on at least a second component 300, 310, 320.
The position of the groups on the operating plan 21 is detected by optic means (see figure 9); the data detected by the optic means are transmitted to the control board C; see insert A of figure 9.
The trimming profiles 160, 170, 180 (see insert M of figure 9) are stored in the control board C, which can be inserted in the corresponding blanks 200, 210,
220.
At this point the control board C processes the data of inserts A, M and commands the operating head 22 such as to trim each blank 200, 210, 220 of the groups 100, 110, 120 with the aim of obtaining corresponding articles similarly to what is illustrated in figures 7, 8.
The thus-obtained articles exhibit the characteristics already described with reference to figure 5A.
Punching devices, as in the prior art, are not used at all, with all the advantages this brings, such as the extreme versatility of the proposed method which enables varying, simply and rapidly, the shape of the articles 7 obtained starting from the group or different groups.
The productivity obtainable with the method of the invention is particularly high, limited only by the operating velocity of the head 22, while waste is completely absent.
It is of note that the second slim component 3 can be constituted by several slim elements made solid to one another.
It is understood that the above has been described by way of example, and that any technical-functional variants of the method are understood to fall within the protective scope of the invention as claimed in the following.
