Description

A WASHING MACHINE COMPRISING A CLEANING AGENT DISPENSER
The present invention relates to a washing machine comprising a dispenser wherein the cleaning agents are placed.
In washing machines, the cleaning agents like detergent, softener etc needed for the cleaning process are placed into a cleaning agent box. The cleaning agent box is disposed into a housing that can be accessed from the front surface of the washing machine. The cleaning agent boxes comprise a dispenser having partitions wherein mostly powder and/or liquid detergent is placed. The wash water received from the mains is directed into the dispenser. The cleaning agent dissolved by mixing with water is delivered into the washing tub together with water from an opening at the base of the housing.
In the course of time, dirt forms on the dispenser and the housing since detergent residue builds up resulting from the detergent not being entirely delivered into the tub from the said dispenser and housing. The dirt that builds up causes mold formation if not cleaned and this situation is unfavorable in terms of hygiene.
In the state of the art, embodiments are known relating to the dispenser being washed by taking out of the housing.
In the state of the art Chinese Patent Application No. CN101864655, a detergent dispenser that can be taken out of the washing machine for cleaning and an upper cover that is mounted thereon are described.
The aim of the present invention is the realization of a washing machine comprising a cleaning agent dispenser which has more hygienic utilization conditions.
The washing machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention, explicated in the first claim and the respective claims thereof, comprises an inlet port disposed at the side wall of the housing wherein the dispenser is placed. An auxiliary water conduit is connected to the inlet port through the water conduit that delivers water to the dispenser. Thus, while water is received into the dispenser, the housing is provided to be cleaned by delivering water from the inlet port to the base of the housing.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the opening is positioned to be close to the front left corner of the housing, and the inlet port close to its rear right corner. Thus, the housing is provided to be cleaned more effectively by increasing the distance travelled inside the housing by the water received into the housing from the inlet port.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the base of the housing is inclined such that the water received from the inlet port is provided to be directed into the housing by its natural flow. Thus, formation of bacteria is minimized by preventing the housing from remaining wet.
In an embodiment of the present invention, a barrier is placed in front of the inlet port which extends from the upper end downwards. The water coming from the auxiliary water conduit hits the barrier while entering into the housing from the inlet port and is directed towards the base of the housing. Consequently, all of the water is provided to flush the base of the housing.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the water conduit comprises two water pipes so as to provide colliding water delivery into the dispenser. In this embodiment, the auxiliary water conduit and the water pipes are connected to each other by means of a connection member having three openings. Thus, when water is received into one of the water pipes, water is also provided to be delivered to the auxiliary water conduit on the connection member.
In an embodiment of the present invention, water passage into the auxiliary water conduit is provided to be controlled by disposing a valve between the water conduit and the auxiliary water conduit. Thus, it is possible to prevent delivery of water into the auxiliary water conduit by closing the valve when delivering water into the auxiliary water conduit is not desired.
By means of the present invention, a more hygienic utilization is maintained in the washing machine by providing the housing to be cleaned after washing.
The washing machine realized in order to attain the aim of the present invention is illustrated in the attached figures, where:
Figure 1 – is the schematic view of a washing machine.
Figure 2 – is the top view of the housing, the water conduit and the auxiliary water conduit in an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 3 – is the partial view of the housing, the water conduit and the auxiliary water conduit in an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 4 – is the sideways view of the housing and the auxiliary water conduit in an embodiment of the present invention.
Figure 5 – is the view of detail A in Figure 4.
The elements illustrated in the figures are numbered as follows:
  1. Washing machine
  2. Dispenser
  3. Opening
  4. Housing
  5. Water conduit
  6. Inlet port
  7. Auxiliary water conduit
  8. Barrier
  9. Water pipe

The washing machine (1) comprises a dispenser (2) wherein the cleaning agents like detergent, softener etc. are placed and the cleaning agents are mixed with water, a housing (4) wherein the dispenser (2) is disposed, the mixture of cleaning agent and water being delivered therein from the dispenser (2), having an opening (3) arranged on its base, providing the mixture to be delivered into the tub and at least one water conduit (5) that carries water from the mains to the dispenser (2).
The washing machine (1) of the present invention furthermore comprises an inlet port (6) disposed at the side wall of the housing (4) and an auxiliary water conduit (7) extending between the water conduit (5) and the inlet port (6) and providing the water coming from the water conduit (5) to be at least partially delivered into the housing (4). Thus, while water is delivered from the water conduit (5) into the dispenser (2), water is also delivered into the housing (4) and hence the base of the housing (4) is provided to be washed.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the inlet port (6) is disposed at the opposite side of the housing (4) with respect to the opening (3). In other words, the opening (3) and the inlet port (6) are positioned diagonally inside the housing (4). Thus, the water received from the inlet port (6) into the housing (4) is provided to contact as much area as possible on the base of the housing (4) and hence to effectively clean the base of the housing (4).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the base of the housing (4) is inclined from the inlet port (6) towards the opening (3). Consequently, the water received from the inlet port (6) is provided to flow towards the opening (3).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises a barrier (8) disposed in front of the inlet port (6) that directs the water received from the inlet port (6) towards the base of the housing (4). Consequently, all of the water is provided to flush the base of the housing (4).
In an embodiment of the present invention, the water conduit (5) comprises two water pipes (9) that enable colliding water delivery into the dispenser (2) and a three-way connection member (10) whereon the water pipes (9) and the auxiliary water conduit (7) are mounted. Consequently, in every delivery of water into the water pipes (9), water is also delivered to the auxiliary water conduit (7) and the housing (4) is provided to be washed.
In an embodiment of the present invention, the washing machine (1) comprises a valve (11) that is disposed between the water conduit (5) and the auxiliary water conduit (7) and that enables the water to be delivered controllably into the auxiliary water conduit (7). Thus, the cleaning of the housing (4) is provided to be performed at times of preference.
In the washing machine (1) of the present invention, bacteria formation in the region of the dispenser (2) is minimized, thereby enabling more hygienic utilization conditions by providing the housing (4) to be cleaned at every washing.
It is to be understood that the present invention is not limited to the embodiments disclosed above and a person skilled in the art can easily introduce different embodiments. These should be considered within the scope of the protection postulated by the claims of the present invention.
