Abstract

The present invention relates to a hard shell battery housing for a galvanic element (10) comprising at least two alkali metal cells, wherein the hard shell battery housing comprises a housing basic body (12) with an interior space for accommodating the cell components (30) of at least two alkali metal cells and a housing cover (13) for closing the interior space of the housing basic body (12), wherein the housing basic body (12) is at least substantially formed from plastic, and wherein the housing basic body (12) comprises at least one vapour barrier layer (14). Furthermore, the present invention relates to a galvanic element (10) of this type, to a method for the production thereof and to a vehicle equipped with a galvanic element (10) of this type.
