Abstract

A biogas production process comprising the steps of providing a substrate comprising manure, and: • (a) adding one or more enzyme to the substrate, and then adding the substrate with the one or more enzyme to a biogas digester; or • (b) adding the substrate to a digester tank and adding one or more enzyme to the tank. The enzymes are selected from amylolytic enzymes, lipolytic enzymes, proteolytic enzymes, cellulolytic enzymes, oxidoreductases and plant cell-wall degrading enzymes.
