Abstract
The present invention relates to an oven for the preparation of food by means of steam, comprising a baking muffle and a blower, said blower is for mixing the air within said baking muffle and heated by means of a heater; and a steam generator producing steam for the preparation of food. A steam dispensing conduit (9) is arranged close to the course of a coil of a heater (6) of an oven (1), extends partially in parallel with the coil of the heater and conforms entirely to the course of said coil of the heater (6).
Description
OVEN FOR PREPARATION OF FOOD BY MEANS OF STEAM The present invention relates to a household appliance, in particular to a cooking apparatus, and more particular to an oven for the preparation of food by means of steam, comprising a backing muffle with a blower behind said muffle, said blower mixing the air heated by means of a heater within said backing muffle, and a steam generator producing steam for the preparation of food.
A baking oven for steam cooking has been disclosed in the European patent No. EP 0 687 434 Bl where the steam generator is fastened to the oven heater over its entire length. The heater is formed as a helical coil, located near, and with its coils roughly parallel to, the rear panel of the oven. The steam generator is a metal strip connecting the tubular coils of the heater. With said solution, water evaporates directly at the heater of the oven, thus, producing wet steam the temperature thereof being relatively low and, as a result, it can not be utilised for the preparation of food. In addition, there is a constant danger due to the uncontrolled delivery of water onto the steam generator for the water to spill and flow over the receptacle or over food being prepared in the oven.
It is the object of the present invention to create an oven for the preparation of food by means of steam of the aforementioned kind which will remedy drawbacks of the known solution. The object as set above is solved, according to the present invention, with characteristics of the characterising clause of the claim 1. Therefore, it is provided for, according to the invention, that a conduit for dispensing steam into a backing muffle is arranged immediately along the course of a coil of a heater of an oven. Furthermore, it is provided for that said conduit for dispensing steam extends at least partially in parallel with said coil of the heater.
The invention is further described in detail by way of non-limiting preferred embodiment, and with a reference to the accompanying drawing, where Fig. 1 shows a simplified three-dimensional exploded view of an oven for the
preparation of food by means of steam,
Fig. 2 shows a three-dimensional view of a heater of an oven.
An oven 1 for the preparation of food by means of steam according to the invention comprises a baking muffle 2 that could be locked by means of a door 3. A baking blower 5 is arranged on one panel of the oven 1, in the present embodiment on the rear panel 4 of the oven lying opposite to the door 3. Radially displaced from said blower 5 is arranged a heater 6 formed, in a preferred embodiment, as a circular coil having a uniform radial spacing from said blower 5. Said blower 5 and said heater 6 are covered with a cap 7 comprising a plurality of through-holes 8 through which said blower 5 draws in the air from the baking muffle 2 and returns it, heated by means of said heater 6, back into said baking muffle 2.
According to the present invention, it is provided for that immediately along and close to the course of said coil of the heater 6 of the oven 1 there is arranged a conduit 9 to dispense steam from a steam generator outside the backing muffle 2, not shown in Fig., to the entrance of steam into said backing muffle 2. It has been shown as preferred for the inlet section 10 of said steam dispensing conduit 9 to be arranged between connectors 11 of said heater 6 and to penetrate a flange 12 of said heater 6 and to be further connected to a steam generator, not shown. According to the present invention, it is provided for that said steam dispensing conduit 9 extends at least partially in parallel with said coil of the heater 6. In the preferred embodiment as shown, the course of said steam dispensing conduit 9 conforms entirely with the course of said coil of the heater 6. A free end 15 of said steam dispensing conduit 9 is directed in the area of a top plate 13 of the backing muffle 2 and in parallel with said top plate 13 to the central area thereof.
Said steam dispensing conduit 9 is connected to said heater 6 by means of a suitable fixing means 14, which is in order to increase stability optionally fixed to the rear panel 4 of the oven according to the invention.
Dry steam with the approximate temperature around 100 °C is transported from said generator, not shown, via said inlet section 10 into said steam dispensing conduit 9. Said heater 6 abuts against said conduit 9 and heats both the backing muffle 2 and the dry steam in said conduit 9, wherein said dry steam could be heated to the temperature of up to the 300 °C, thus, creating superheated steam having substantially higher energy in comparison
to the energy of steam entering said section 10. The applicability of the oven according to the invention increases substantially due to the use of the superheated steam since it can be used for diverse combinations for the preparation of food. In addition, the entire efficiency of the oven according to the invention increases due to the higher quantity of the input energy resulting in a lower frequency of the heater activation and in higher energy savings.
Claims
1. An oven for the preparation of food by means of steam, comprising a backing muffle with a blower mixing the air heated by means of a heater within said backing muffle, and a steam generator producing steam for the preparation of food, characterised in that a steam dispensing conduit (9) is arranged immediately and close to the course of a coil of a heater (6) of an oven (1).
2. An oven according to claim 1, characterised in that said steam dispensing conduit (9) extends at least partially in parallel with said coil of the heater (6).
3. An oven according to claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the course of said steam dispensing conduit (9) conforms entirely to the course of said coil of the heater (6).
4. An oven according to claims 1 to 3, characterised in that an inlet section (10) of said steam dispensing conduit (9) is arranged between connectors (11) of said heater (6).
5. An oven according to claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the free end (15) of said steam dispensing conduit (9) is directed into the central area of a top panel (13) of the backing muffle (2).
