Abstract

An arrangement for coupling of two parts together, such as a lid to a box or coupling of building elements together, said parts are formed as moveable magnetically influentially male couplings means and female couplings means respectively. Moreover the male coupling means (5C, 5D) under influence from a magnetic force is also influenced of a spring force, such that the influence from the magnetic force, being bigger than the spring force, releases or couples the male coupling means from the female coupling means, when the magnetic force is removed respectively applied.

Description

ARRANGEMENT FOR COUPLING TWO PARTS TOGETHER, AND USES OF THE
ARRANGEMENT
This invention relates to an arrangement for coupling a first moveable part to another part, said first moveable part is formed as magnetic influentially male coupling means, said movement is provided by a magnetic force, whereas the other part is formed as female coupling means, whereas the mail coupling means are supplied by a mechanical force.
Moreover the invention relates to uses of the arrangement. As examples of prior art arrangements mentioned above, are latches, coupling of building constructions, f. inst. aluminium profiles, push-on contacts being fastened in a depressed wall-outlet.
Common to these known arrangements are that they consists of a lot of elements, such as screws, springs, holding parts engaging in hook parts and so forth.
Moreover these arrangements typical are visible and under use, bending of the parts is necessary. US 2007/0212166 discloses an arrangement for coupling two parts together, where the first part is formed as male coupling means of magnetic material.
By the use of a magnet it is possible to displace the mail coupling means f. inst. in a channel, such that the mail coupling means can be coupled or decoupled from another part.
In an embodiment a first magnetic coupling element, being spring forced, can be rotated under influence from a magnet, so that a second element can be coupled to the first element elements after rotation of the first element by use of a magnetic force. It's now a purpose with the invention to provide an arrangement of the type defined in the introductory part of claim 1, that is easy to use, and is built from few elements, can be used in a lot of coupling arrangements, without the need for real tool, but just using magnetic influence, in which the magnetic influence does not, as such, move any elements. The purpose is achieved by an arrangement of the type defined in the introductory part of claim 1, that is characteristic in that that the male coupling means are connected or disconnected from the female coupling means by the mechanical force, when the magnetic force is removed respectively supplied to the male coupling means.
An expedient embodiment of the arrangement is, as stated in claim 2, that the mechanical force is less than the force provided by the magnetic force.
In this way it is easy to couple or decouple two parts of the arrangement to or from each other, by just using a magnet, since the mechanical force provides the coupling or the decoupling of the parts of the arrangement.
Another expedient embodiment of the invention is, as stated in claim 3, that that the mechanical force is provided by a spring, or as stated in claim 4, that the spring is a bistable spring or as stated in claim 5, that the spring is a flat spring or as stated in claim 6, that the flat spring is provided with a pawl.
Another preferred embodiment is, as stated in claim 7, that it comprises two discs between which two ends a spring is attached having a semi-circular cross section/profile and a shaft system consisting of two tubing's, where one of the tubing's is displaceable in and out of the other tubing.
To coupling of building construction elements, where the coupling is desired to be hidden, it is advantageous, as stated in claim 8, that that the male coupling means is formed as a latch consisting of two shafts that is fixed in a pivot point that is connected to a third shaft to which a moveable magnetic shaft is fixed, or as stated in claim 9, that the latch is provided with a pin that can be suspended in a hole.
A further expedient embodiment of the invention is, as stated in claim 10, that the male coupling means is constituted by a mounting part and balls, one of the balls is influence of a mechanical force from a sear spring.
Finally it is advantageous, if as stated in claim 11, that that the influence form the magnetic force is provided by two magnets. As mentioned the invention also relates to uses of the invention.
By the use according to claim 12, it is possible to fix a push-on contact to a depressed wall outlet, without it is necessary to equip the push-on contact with outer flanges for abutment against the surface surrounding the hole of the depressed wall outlet.
In a similar way, coupling of parts, beyond those mentioned in claim 13 or 14, can be used in a plurality of connections, being explained later. The invention will now be explained more in details referring to the drawing in which
Fig. 1 shows a basic illustration of the parts from the arrangement is build, Fig. 2 shows the arrangement on fig. 1 seen from above in a "latch" state, Fig. 3 shows the arrangement on fig. 2 in an "unlatched" state Fig. 4A and fig 4B shows another embodiment of the spring material,
Fig 5A and fig.5B shows a third embodiment of the spring formed magnetic material,
Fig. 6A and fig 6B, a latch mechanism having a ball latch build according to the principles of the invention,

Fig 7C the male coupling arrangement according to fig. 6A and fig.7B without coupling parts. Fig. 8A and fig. 8B the male coupling arrangement according to fig. 6A and fig 6B build into a profile, whereas
Fig 9 to fig. 11 shows aluminium profiles that is assembled or disassembled.
On fig. 1 - 3, 1 designates an arrangement according to the invention having mail coupling means 2, 2A 3, 3A, 3B, 3C.
The mail coupling means consists of a magnetic flat spring 2, 2A that in both ends are terminated by pawls 3, 3A, 3B, 3C.
The mounting part is formed with a front plate 4 and a back plate 4A, through which the mail coupling means are moveable as it is being explained in connection with fi. 2 and 3.
The arrangement functions as follows:
When a magnet is positioned above the arrangement 1, then the flat springs 2, 2A, will be in that on fig. 3 shown position, 5, 5A, in which the flat springs are curved, due to the influence from the magnetic force, which is possible to provide with an ordinary magnet or an electromagnetic magnet.
As it can be seen the paws are retracted through the front- and back plates 4, 4A where the mail coupling means take a non-latched position.
The arrangement 1, being a closure, a cover, a mounting bracket or the like, can now be penetrated in a not shown female part, perpendicular relative to the female part, without the necessity by the penetration to place the arrangement in an oblique position.
Afterwards the magnet can be removed, which results in that the flat springs 2, 2A having pawls 3, 3A can take that on fig. 2 shown position, where the mounting part is latched to a not shown female part.
It is also noted, that the flat springs beyond being magnetic influentially can be formed in a magnetic material.
On fig. 4A and fig. 4B an arrangement consisting of a couple of male coupling means 5C, 5D that is connected to a bistable spring, said spring is a spring that can take two states, namely one as shown on fig. 4A in a stretch state and as shown on fig. 4B in a curved state. As shown the mail coupling means has grooves that is intended for instance to interact with not shown complementary grooves being formed in a channel in a wall.
The function of the male coupling means is now explained:
When a mechanical force is applied to the bistable spring in the state shown on fig. 5B, then it will change to the stretch state as shown on fig. 4A.
If the bistable spring in the state shown on fig. 4A is applied with a magnetic force, then the male coupling means will take that on fig. 4B shown state.
If the male coupling means, are built in a profile, as for instance shown on fig. 8A, but with holes in opposite ends, then a mounting module is provided, that can be mounted perpendicular in grooves, constituting female coupling means, in a wall, and latching the grooves on the male coupling means in the grooves of the female coupling means in the wall, by use of a magnetic force.
If later, it is desired to remove the male coupling means from the female coupling in the wall, it is possible just by a magnet to influence the spring, after which the latching between the mail coupling means and the female coupling means will be released.
Fig. 5A and fig. 5B illustrates a further embodiment of the arrangement according to the invention.
On these figures, 8 designated a magnetic shaft terminated in its free ends of discs 9, 10.
Between the discs two tubing's 6, 7 are fixed; one of the tubing's 7 is displaceable into the other tubing 6.
By introducing a friction between the tubing's 6, 7, it is possible to provide a delay between that on fig. 5B unlatched position to that on fig. 5A latched position.
The function is similar to those explained in connection with the earlier explained figures.
On the figs. 6A, 6B an arrangement is shown in form of a mounting part 11 having mail coupling means 12, 13, 14, 15 in form of balls 12, 13, 14, and a sear spring 15. On fig. 6A the male coupling means is in an unlatched state, that is due to the influence by a not shown magnet, being placed above the mounting part 11. As it can be seen the sear spring is retracted and the balls are retracted as well.
When afterwards the magnet is removed then the ball will take that on fig. 6B shown position.
Fig. 7A to fig. 7B shows a bracket in form of a mounting part 22, f. instance a part of an aluminium profile, that is formed as a mortise, consisting of two perpendicular arranged shafts 16, 18, being connected rotatable via a pivot point 17. From the pivot point 17 a shaft 19 is carried out.
On the shaft 19 a shaft 20 of magnetic material is mounted.
The shaft 20 corresponds to identical couple of mortises mounted on the opposite side, so the bracket can be opened or closed from one side.
Under the pivot point 19, cf. fig. 7C a hole 24A is formed, in which a spigot (not shown) eventually spring strengthened on the shaft 19 can be led in and out by a magnetic force, since the magnetic force, that influences the shaft 20, is able to draw the spigot out from the hole 24A.
The front side of the mounting part is terminated with a front side 21, that can penetrate a hole, 26, cf. fig 9.
The function of the bracket according to fig. 7A to 7C is as follows:
If the start position is that shown on fig. 7A then a magnetic influence and movement of the magnet that provides the magnet influence, penetrate in the hole 24A, displaces the shafts 16, 18 and 19 to that shown on fig 7B shown position, since the shafts follows the movement of the magnet.
When the magnet is removed then the not shown spigot will be fixed in the hole 24A.
When the magnet again is led over the shaft 20, then the spigot will be lifted out from the hole 24A, and the shafts 16, 18, 19 will be led back to the on fig. 7A shown position.
Fig 8A and 8B shows the mounting part 22 partly hidden and built in a profile 26. The profile 26 has an abutment surface 26A that abut an abutment surface 24A, cf. fig. 9, that shows a profile 23 having a hole 27, for receiving a front part.
On fig. 10 an aluminium profile 25 has a front part 28, that can be connected with the profile 23 shown on fig. 9, such as shown on fig. 11.
