The purchase is able to be made in the appropriate currency. It is anticipated that the appropriate funds balance and currency to use is selected in a conventional manner for example by manual selection by the consumer 120 2 , or automatically at a point of sale or ATM system that recognises the existence of a corresponding currency funds balance on the card 125 2 or in accordance with a predetermined currency preference order, subject to availability of funds in each currency funds balance.

Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement de carte à usage multiple consistant : à extraire un ou plusieurs enregistrement(s) de membres d'un ensemble d'enregistrements de membres qui représentent les clients respectifs d'un premier fournisseur de services ayant des soldes de points respectifs ; à transmettre des cartes à usage multiple respectives dans un premier état à un ou plusieurs client(s) correspondant à/aux enregistrement(s) de membres, les cartes à usage multiple présentant un premier indice associé au premier fournisseur de services et un second indice associé à un second fournisseur de services, le second fournisseur de services comprenant une institution financière, le premier état permettant une interaction avec le premier fournisseur de services mais pas avec l'institution financière ; et à recevoir en provenance d'au moins un client une demande pour activer une ou plusieurs capacité(s) de transaction financière avec l'institution financière et placer la ou les carte(s) à usage multiple associée(s) au(x) second(s) client(s) dans un second état, ce second état permettant une interaction à la fois avec le premier fournisseur de services et l'institution financière.
