Abstract

The invention relates to a method for providing reserve power for stabilizing an alternating current network, wherein the alternating current network operates at a specified frequency and a frequency band around the specified frequency is defined, comprising an energy store, which can receive and output electrical energy, wherein the provision of the reserve power by means of the energy store is changed if there is a lasting frequency deviation outside the frequency band over a defined time period, wherein said change comprises a changeover from the specified frequency to a variable control frequency.
