Abstract

An assembly comprising a light therapy device (1100) for providing a therapeutic effect to a treatment target area (226) of a living being is disclosed. The assembly comprises a light source (1102) for providing light to the treatment target area, and a heat management means being thermally coupled to at least one of the device and the treatment target area and comprising a phase change material (1106) exhibiting a phase change. The assembly is configured to control a temperature of the treatment target area at a temperature below a critical temperature of the treatment target area, the phase change material being arranged as a heat sink absorbing excess heat as latent heat of the phase change.
