Abstract

The invention relates to a prosthesis that can be used to capture and deodorise gases expelled distally from the human digestive tract. The invention comprises at least one tubular part suitable for insertion into the human rectum and including at least one cavity, the main opening therein being turned towards the proximal end of the rectum. The aforementioned cavity can receive gases, faecal matter and secretions from the digestive tract. Said cavity can retain faecal matter and secretions, while allowing gases to pass therethrough towards a deodorisation circuit. The tubular part bears on the walls of the rectum, such as to obstruct the natural gas passage along these walls and to direct said gases towards a deodorisation circuit. The invention comprises a second, ring-shaped part placed outside the body, said ring-shaped part channelling the gases and acting as a bearing point for maintaining the part located inside the rectum in a suitable position. The two parts are connected by a third, tubular flexible part which is involved in the gas capture process. The gases captured in this manner are deodorised by means of physical and chemical absorption and adsorption.

Description

Titre de l'invention : prothèse d'excrétion gazeuse sans odeur par la voie distale  Title of the invention: odorless distal gaseous excretion prosthesis
Domaine technique Technical area
Filtration des gaz ; prosthétique. Gas filtration; prosthetic.
Gas deodorization devices of the digestive tract equip some colostomy bags. This technique is very effective but of limited application. In addition, there are odor-adsorbing panty layers using activated carbon fibers when the gaseous excretion takes place by the normal route. The effectiveness of the latter technique is limited by the tightness of the diaper. Finally, there are devices that make it possible to avoid the noise associated with gaseous excretion by the normal route. But there is no prosthetic device to safely remove the odors associated with gas excretion that takes place by the distal normal way.
Exposé de l'invention Presentation of the invention
