Entry door
The invention relates to an entry door comprising a doorframe and a slab. PL 62069 discloses a complete door comprising a doorframe made of jambs and a threshold and a rebated type slab, where the doorframe and the slab are mutually sealed with plastic seals and connected together by means of hinges. The doorframe jambs are made of glued together wooden elements whereas the slab is made of a wooden frame covered with corrugated metal sheeting on both sides and created space between the inner and the outer sheets forming the outer and the inner door skin is filled with polyurethane foam sealant. The doorframe and the slab are sealed with seals embedded in a groove formed in the doorframe and a groove formed in the front surface of the corner cutout in the threshold.
PL 56850 discloses a door slab with enhanced sound insulation. The slab has a rubber seal mounted in the channel, in which one wall is the extension of rebate still around the whole perimeter of the groove.
The object of the invention is a entry door comprising a doorframe and a self- supporting slab hanged on hinges, mounted to the doorframe and consisting of a threshold, lockset, seals and other accessories, characterized in that, the doorframe is formed from a multi-chamber profile, made of PVC and includes inserted metal section and the self-supporting slab, comprises a frame, preferably made of a composite polymer. The frame is covered on both sides with polyester sheeting and the space in-between is filled with CFC-free foam sealant. Both, the doorframe and the slab have at least one groove in which the seal is seated. The doorframe and the slab are constructed and arranged to each other with a gap not greater than 5 mm. The doorframe has a rectangular cross-sectional shape with back surface with protrusions fastened to a door opening, with one corner rounded and/or beveled and
the second corner having rectangular channel with embedded masking insert, in which the edge of the slab enters, has, in the front wall of the channel a groove with projections, in which, seal is inserted, which comes in contact with one of the front faces of the slab. Projections on the outskirts of the groove guarantee excellent seal placement in the groove and prevent from seal self-sliding out
The slab is made as a rebated type with the meeting stile on the side, the top, and the bottom edges of the slab. It can also exist as a rebated type on three edges: the upper and the side ones, and as non-rebated on the bottom edge. The meeting stile is carried out within the framework of the slab. In the slab, on the extension of the inner surface of the meeting stile there is a meeting stile groove in which a second seal is pressed in, in contact with the side surface of the doorframe and at the bottom with the side surface of the threshold.
On the lower surface of the slab, parallel to meeting stile groove, there is a second groove in which a brush type seal is pressed in, in contact with the top surface of the threshold. Similarly, on the lower surface of the non-rebated slab there is also a groove in which a brush type seal is pressed in, in contact with the top surface of the threshold.
in the rectangular channel of the doorframe, instead of masking insert, spacer insert is dovetailed containing groove with projections in which seal is inserted. The seal comes in contact with one of the front surfaces of the slab.
The door according to the invention, in which the doorframe is formed from a multi- chamber profile made of PVC with inserted metal section, which adds to rigidity and the slab made as a composite frame covered with flat or corrugated in the respective patterns polyester sheeting with the space between them, filled with foam, which has adequate stiffness and a high degree of mutual fit, with precisely determined gap between the two co-operating elements, which in the product which is subject of that application is up to 5 mm, and in the previously used fusion of a doorframe and a slab greatly exceeded this value. Applied hinges, designed, on the one hand for
mounting to the doorframe, made of multi-profile PVC, and on the other to the composite slab, act as permanent suspension and they are not subject to loosening due to long-term use.
However, the most beneficial characteristic of the door combining self-supporting composite slab, that is slab with the composite frame, with the rebated type doorframe according to the invention is implementing of double sealing around the entire perimeter of the slab. Thus, on the top and side edges, with a one seal pressed into a groove in doorframe in contact with the front surface of the slab, and the second seal, pressed into a rebated groove in contact with the side surface of the doorframe. Whereas at the bottom, alternatively, when on the lower edge there is a rebate, then with one seal pressed into the rebated groove in contact with the side surface of the threshold and the second brush type seal pressed in the second groove in contact with the upper surface of the threshold, and in the second alternative, with one seal pressed into the groove in the front surface of the threshold in contact with the front surface of the slab and the second brush type seal, pressed into a groove in the lower surface of the slab in contact with the upper surface of the threshold. This type of seal between the doorframe and the slab ensures high degree of heat and sound insulation.
The implementing of the spacer insert allows, when using the doorframe adapted to the non-rebated slab, installation of the rebated slab on such modified doorframe. The meeting stile of described slab co vers the gap between the doorframe and the slab and has positive impact, first, on the aesthetics but also raises an anti-theft feature.

Description of the preferred embodiment
In the preferred embodiment illustrated in Fig. 2 the entry door comprises a doorframe 1 and a slab 2 hanged on hinges mounted to the doorframe 1. A gap S between side and top surfaces of the slab, and the doorframe is 3mm. The door also contains a threshold 4 and a lockset 6. The doorframe 1 is formed from a multi- chamber profile 1 0 made of PVC and includes inserted metal section 1 1 , which adds to rigidity of the entire profile. The slab 2 comprises a frame 12, made of polymer composite reinforced by profile 40 made of plywood and also, not shown on the picture, steel profile. The slab is covered on both sides with polyester sheeting 13 reinforced with glass fiber and with the space in-between them filled with CFC-free foam sealant 14. The doorframe 1 has a rectangular cross-sectional shape with back surface 18 with protrusions 1 9, fastened to a door opening, with one comer 20 rounded and beveled and the second corner 21 possessing rectangular channel 22 with embedded masking insert 23. In the front wall 24 of the channel 22 a groove 15 is situated with projections 25, in which seal 7 is inserted. The seal comes in contact with front surface 26 of the slab 2 whilst door is closed. The slab 2 is made as a rebated type with the meeting stile on the side and top edges of the slab. The meeting stile 27 is formed within the support frame 12. In the extension of the inner surface
28 of the meeting stile 27 there is a meeting stile groove in which a second seal 8 is pressed in, in contact with the side surface of the doorframe 1 .
In the alternative embodiment illustrated in Fig. 3, in the rectangular channel 22 of the doorframe 1 instead of masking insert 23 spacer insert 32 is dovetailed 33 containing groove 15 with projections 25, in which seal 7 is inserted. The seal comes in contact with front surface 26 of the slab 2.
The lower edge of the slab 2 can be made as a rebated type illustrated on Fig.4 and as non-rebated type as illustrated on Fig.5.
In the rebated type, in the groove 16 there is a seal 8 in contact with the side surface of the threshold 4 which is composed of strip 34 made of plastic and combined with it metal strip 35. Parallel to rebated groove 16 there is a second groove 17 in which a brush type seal 9 is pressed in, in contact with the top surface 31 of the threshold 4. In the non-rebated type, in the lower surface of the slab 2, there is only the groove 17, in which a brush type seal 9 is pressed in, in contact with the top surface 31 of the threshold 5 which comprises front metal strip 36, back metal strip 37, thermal insulator 38 made of plastic and the back masking insert 39. In this combination between slab 2 and the threshold 5 one of the seals 8 is pressed into the groove made in the front of the metal strip 36 and, whilst the door closed, comes in contact with the front surface 26 of the slab 2.
